Mission: Casperia Prime - A lesson in relaxation
1354 words - 2.7 OF Standard Post Measure

Reo'thanra Sandtail shifted in his position, feeling like a fish out of water as he glanced around the empty embarkation deck Looking for some way to determine that he was in the right place. It had been a long Trip From the confederacy Space docks over Artania to his new assignment, and he was still trying to grasp the Federations ways of doing things.

M'Tuuri had heard about the Elysium being assigned an Arten, something she was rather curious about. "How, adorable..." She purred to herself up on the upper deck walkway, having absolutely no business being there.

"You look very lost!" She called out to Reo, resting her chin on both paws as she leaned on the railing above him.

The Vulpine flinched and glanced up at the Cait, his large ears pivoting to focus in her direction as his green eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "I am A little," he called back in perfect Caitian, his tail flicking in annoyance.

Her tail fluttered slightly as she heard her native tongue being spoken. "Yes... yes you are." M'Tuuri shot back in Cait, a wide grin forming after making a sly remark to his stature.

"Would you like some help..." She added, leaning her rear further back so as to inconvenience the crewman walking behind.

"So long as it doesn't cost me any latinum," he said with a smirk his stance shifting, causing the impact plates in his uniform to clank softly.

M'Tuuri simply let out a long purring growl in response, climbing over the railing with the grace of a dancer. "Oh, it's going to cost you far more than latinum..." She added, gently skipping away from the side before catching the walkway with her clawed hand, stopping her descent briefly before letting go and falling the remaining ten or so feet to the deck below.

However, when she landed M'Tuuri barely made a sound, her flexible legs bending into a crouched position as she absorbed the impact effortlessly. "But first I need to know your name..." She growled teasingly, slowly standing up.

He watched her cautiously and slowly approached her as she dropped. "You can Call me "Reo Sandtail," he said shortening his name to the first three letters. "Warrant officer Sandtail will also suffice," he added as he sized her up. Though she had him By Nearly half a foot He felt confident that he was at least average height for his species.

M'Tuuri made a slight grunt, snarling as though his very name had offended her. "Ssso formal..." She hissed with a shake of her head. "I'm Lieutenant Sh'iss, but just call me M'Tuuri." She added before abruptly turning and walking away, her tail flicking over his head with a swat.

Reo's large ears flicked with annoyance as he started to follow after her. "Sorry...Reo is also...fine," he muttered. "I keep forgetting Star Fleet isn't as militarized as the CDF."

"Well... we aren't at war," M'Tuuri interjected. "But don't mistake that for weakness, Starfleet has learnt much since dealing with the Borg and the Dominion... The Elysium for all its luxuries," She said, stopping by the hanger door that leads to one of the internal corridors. "Could easily hold it's own in a fight." She finished, extending her paw into the corridor for Reo.

"I suppose that must be True if the CDF Admiralty Sent me here as opposed to space dock," he nodded slowly as he stepped into the corridor ahead of her.

"So why exactly are you here anyway, to get your lil paws on our schematics?" M'Tuuri teased, jesting at his ancestors stealing from federation databases.

"Actually...the Confederate council is Voting this year on whether or not to apply for citizenship to the federation," He chuckled a soft fang graced smile crossing his face. "So the CDF sent out a bunch of Officers to see about integration into Starfleet if that happens."

"Interesting..." M'Tuuri purred, thoughtfully. "I suppose I ssshould escort you to the bridge then." She added, her yellow eyes bouncing between his many interesting features. "I'm sure the Capurrtain will want to meet you."

"I'd appreciate that," he said quickly, his ears flicking with his words as he took quick steps to keep up with her. "If...its not to far out of your way Lieutenant," he added quickly.

"I work under the bridge..." M'Tuuri said, leaning slightly towards Reo, trying to contain the grin on her face.

"I'd suspect we all do," he said openly grinning. "But that's a Joke worthy of a Vulcan so," he shrugged and flicked his own tail to swat hers.

The flick of his tail surprised M'Tuuri, but her own little growl at him surprised her more. "I don't think I've ever heard a Vulcan make a joke..." She replied softly, rounding a corner that lead to another, long straight corridor.

"if its any consolation, I've never seen a Vulcan," he laughed his voice ringing off the bulkheads. "though I'm sure they're commonplace for you," he said with a soft smirk after a moment.

"Vulcans... humans, Tellarites... they're all the same after a while," She replied, her eyes glazing over slightly. "But I tend to keep my distance from most people nowadays, far less complicated." She finished, shaking her head clear of any thoughts wandering too far out of their cage.

"You and another I've yet to meet are going to be quite a novelty around here, you best get used to a lot of stares..." She added as they approached a turbolift.

"I don't mind stares," he shrugged gently his ears flicking. "Even among the Arten, I'm a bit...Unique," he smiled softly.

M'Tuuri couldn't help but laugh, a high pitch meowing chuckle that filled the turbolift as it opened. "Is that why they sent you here?" She teased, implying that they had sent him away.

Reo huffed and swatted her tail, and rear, with his tail. "I'm here because I'm a Combat engineering specialist," he Snarled, his neck fur standing on end.

"A very unique title..." M'Tuuri purred in a patronising tone, her tail puffing up slightly at his slight at her rear. "Bridge." She added, turning and leaning against the wall of the turbolift.

"Maybe Among the Celth'ga," he grumbled, the Universal translator chugging over one of his words. as he turned to lean against the other side of the turbolift, the armor plates in his uniform clacking as he folded his arms, his dexterous paws tapping impatiently.

M'Tuuri watched the vulpine with inquisitive eyes, amused at his reaction and sudden grumpiness. "Oh come now," She purred, leaning forward while sliding her paws down her legs. "Don't be grumpy for the Capurrtain." She teased, her whiskers twitching as she drew closer to the scent radiating off of his fur.

His green eyes flashed and met hers. "F...fine," he muttered and slowly relaxed his posture his one nose twitching as he studied her with three of his senses, his large satellite ears having pivoted towards her.

"Good boy." She grinned, her large fangs protruding onto her lower lip as she sat back up straight.

He tilted his head to the side, causing his ears to flop over. "Good boy?" He asked with just a hint of confusion.

"Oh, oh you're precious..." M'Tuuri said, bringing a paw up to her mouth as the turbolift stopped and opened to the bridge. "But alas, this is where we part..." She added, gesturing towards the bridge.

Reo Frowned and shook his head. "Well...thanks for the escort I guess M'Tuuri," he sighed, his voice unable to mimic the purring tones she'd used. "And I suppose If I need you again, I've got your scent." he said tapping his muzzle gently before stepping out.

M'Tuuri watched him go, before sighing herself. "Deck 18 A" she added as the doors closed briefly and the turbo pod moved down to the intelligence blister. "I suppose I should do some work..." She hummed as she stepped out, finding it awful odd to see the bridge crew directly above her.
