Sthilg let out a sigh to himself as he looked up the mess he'd created. This was harder than he'd expected it to be. Not that making candles with his own blood mixed into wax was ever going to be easy. This ritual was going to take some work to do.

The sound of the buzzer made him jump as he realized what the time was. He'd asked the chief councillor round for a chat and he'd let himself get complety distracted.

" Enter " he said as he stood up wiping the wax from his hands with a cloth as he headed to the door. " Apologise for the messsss. I've been working on something."

Alicia smiled as she walked in taking a brief curious look around, his quarters were an odd mix of large bookshelves, boxes and from what she could tell it looked liked antique Klingon furniture. She didn't want to appear like she was inspecting the Gorn officer's quarters so she turned her attention to Sthilg. "That's alright. What can I do for you Doctor?"

" I have a favour to asssk you in regard to my predicament. It'sss going to sound crazy, but I'd like your help asss part of a gorn ritual to banisssh ssspiritsss. " The gorn said as he lead the way to a small table and chairs.

"A ritual to banish spirits!" Alicia looked at the Gorn curiously. "I would be honoured to help you any way I can Doctor." She smiled warmly. "May I ask more about these spirits you wish to banish?"

" It'sss the ghossst of my wife that's been plaguing me the lassst month. " He said reaching for the journal he'd been using to record all the times he'd seen her. " With no physical sssign that anything inside my head is wrong, I'm having to resssort to the sssupernatural. I never thought's i hear myself say that."

“I see” Alicia nodded. “Did you consider speaking to a Counsellor about it?” She looked at him curiously. “It may be more psychological than supernatural. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with you, it may just be that old feelings and memories are coming back that you need to talk about.”

" Off coursse i did. I've been ssseeing Lunara Hol about it." The gorn replied. " I wouldn't be resorting to thisss if I knew what was wrong with me."

Alicia nodded. “My Apologies Doctor, I meant no offence. I just wanted to be sure.” There was a momentary pause before she spoke again. “So tell me more about this ritual.”

" None was taken." The gorn said as he pulled out a padd and handed it over. " The ritual involves me taking a psychiatric drug that according to the ritual allowsss me to leave my body and enter the road to the hunting ground. I will need eight guardiansss to hold a candle mixed with my own blood that will sssupposssedly tether my sssoul to this realm. Each candle will burn for one hour for each of the tessstsss. I will be allowed to try the tessstsss to see if I can enter the hunting ground and at the end, I may asssk the all mother why thisss ssspirit is plaguing me. Hopefully, ssshe will reveal why it is tied me.

"So there are no doubt some dangers involved with this?" Alicia looked at the Gorn concernedly. "What are the risks?"

" Well according to the book of the dead my sssoul may not return to my body and I'll be lossst in the path forever. Though the more presssssing isssssue would be a bad reaction to the drug. I've already prepared a counter agent for myself, but i need to know the biology of the guardiansss ssso i can whip one up for them. " The gorn explained.

“So those who are your guardians have to enter the other side with you?” Alicia looked at the large Gorn Doctor.

" Volunteersss I have to asssk to help me with this. The captainsss already agreed to be one of them ssso i need ssseven othersss." the gorn explained.

“Then feel free to consider me one of those volunteers if that is a help.” Alicia smiled warmly. “You helped me so I am more than happy to help you.”

" Thank you. Now I need to find only sssix. I'll get your blood work sssorted out to sssee if the drug would have any negative ssside effectsss." The gorn said thankfully with a warm smile on his face.

Alicia nodded. “If there’s anything else I can do in the meantime just let me know.” She smiled warmly.

" I will. Thank you Alicia " the Chief md said with the warmest smile his kind could give.

Alicia smiled warmly in return. “Just call me when you need me Doctor.”

The gorn kept his smile as he gave a polite " I will." He still had a lot of work to do.
