Gallia had come to the bridge early to relieve Ens. Lombard, who was having some serious difficulties with her pregnancy, now in it's eighth month, and needed to go home early. She was about tuned out completely at her console, she didn't like sitting in the Captain's chair, when she started receiving an unlikely, nearly impossible, and thus completely unexpected signal from Earth, "Whet in Hell? That isnae possible! There shouldnae be nothing on that planet whet could send us a signal for another near 500 years." Quickly checking the console for malfunctions or other possible errors, revealing that everything was as it appeared, only caused her more shock, "Guess I better tell somebody, hey?" Rising from her seat she left Lt. Berry in charge and headed out to find the Captain.

A walk of about ten minutes and the lights led her to Phoenix's cabin, a place she'd never been and wasn't really comfortable, but this was important. After debating for a second she pressed the chime and waited, "Hope she isnae with nobody, I wouldnae wanna interrupt that."

The door opened a few minutes later, to reveal a sleepy eyed captain, in baggy shorts, tank top and hair in total disarray. "Commander?" Phoenix blinked. "Whats going on?"

"Something that shouldnae be." Gallia sighed, "Something that cannae be, least not yet. We got a signal, an old fashioned SOS, from Earth, Captain."

Phoenix stared for a moment, as her brain caught up. "ok.. Go get Commander Taylor, Mr Varis and Commander Salannis An Vantar, and bring them to the briefing room. I will be there as soon as I can. Say 15 minutes."

"Aye, Captain, I'll get right on that.'' Gallia replied quickly, stepping rapidly away to do just that. Tapping her commbadge she spoke "Cdr. Taylor, Lt. Cdr. an Vantar, Mr. Varis, please report te the main briefin' room."

Gary had been asleep with Lia, when Gallia's call came in. He was instantly awake. "On my way." He answered crisply as he slid out of bed. Turning back he kissed Lia on the cheek and headed into the bathroom. A few minutes later he was out Shaved and showered and clean uniform on. He exited the quarters and headed for the main briefing room while trying to come up with a reason for the late evening call.

"Glad ye could make it so fast, sir." Gallia said as he entered, "Soon as the others arrive we can go 'head an' get started."

"Hiya Gallia. What's up?" Gary greeted the Ops chief.

"Somethin' that cannae be happenin' 'as happened." Gallia replied, "Tha's whet."

"Very cryptic Gallia and I get the hint, I'll wait until the others get here. So you only have to tell us once." Gary replied.

The door opened behind them and Phoenix stepped in rubbing a hand over her face. She was dressed and for once her hair was down. "hey" she said to Gary and moved to the small replicator and replicated a glass of orange juice.

"Captain." Gary said in agreeing. By all appearances it looked like Phoenix had been asleep when Gallia's call came through.

"Captain." Gallia smiled, though she couldn't help noticing how much shorter the Captain looked without her giant bun atop her head, "We're still waitin' on Arri and Varis."

The door opened and Arrianna stepped in disheveled. She had entered and spoke. "I surmise we were not roused from sleep for a trifle matter?" She noted as she rubbed her eyes.

"Indeed ye weren't." Gallia laughed, "If ye'd take a seat an' give Mr. Varis another couple minutes te get here, I willnae hold the big news back nay more."

Varis was trying to sleep, but could not get to rest. The idea that they were in the past did not sit well with him, he was uneasy. Varis did not know what but he knew something was going to happen. Both his training and a certain something that all El Aurians had told him something was terribly wrong. The summons to the Briefing Room brought him out of his thoughts. With a heaving sigh Varis hauled himself out of bed and dressed.

Within minutes he found himself in a well tailored suit and walking through the doors of the Briefing Room. With his portfolio under his arm Varis spoke softly. "You rang Captain?"

"Not me, Lt Commander Norris, has something to tell us" Phoenix wanted to yawn at the man.

"Right." Gallia said, rising to her feet, "So, a few minutes ago, I was mindin' the bridge ye see when somethin' happened whet cannae be. Ye see, we received a signal from the planet, on a Starfleet channel, nothin' fancy mind ye, jus' an ol' fashioned SOS."

Arri was now wide awake. "The society on this planet shouldn't have even the most basic wireless communication technology for another three hundred years." She pondered this. "Avalon... I need a compiled list of every vessel that has dissapeared in the void for the last century."

"Judgin' from the channel they used ye can narra that down te the last twenty years or so, Arri." Gallia added, "But, aye, there's no way we should be gettin' anythin' from that rock tha's still in the dark ages."

"Which means there is a Federation presence on the planet." Gary stated bluntly. "Which means away teams are going to need to be sent to discover the source and extradite the Federation officer or officers there."

"And we will need to retrieve any and all of our technology and leave this planet sterile of our influence." Arrianna noted. "We must act immediately."

"Tha's assumin' there's anyone alive down there." Gallia said, "Tha' mebbe nothin' mar than a crash bouy sendin' oot an SOS from the bottom of a loch someplace."

"All are valid points." Phoenix said softly. "However, we cannot and will not barge into this. We will move the Elysium to the darkside of Luna, and commence scans of Earth to pinpoint the location. Mr Varis, you and Commander Salannis An Vantar are to put together an away team, proper clothing and looks. Not a big team, 5 people maximum. Tomorrow morning."

"An' how long haff we got te pinpoint this signal, Captain?" Gallia asked, as much as she wanted to rescue their stranded people, if they were alive, and protect the timeline, more than anything she wanted to go home.

"Well... the sooner the better" she looked at Gary and Varis. "Gentlemen?"

Arri began pacing. "Alright. We need era appropriate clothing. Tricorders and Phasers that look like common items of the period, and will vaporize if tampered with. We're going to need quite a bit of vaccinations. Or we'll get an array of diseases that were eliminated in the twentieth century." Arri explained. "And we'll need cover identities. I'm thinking a minor nobleman and his entourage. Provided they are not catholic, it should allow us the ability to move unhindered." Arrianna explained. "Varis... any ideas?"

"I'd like te volunteer for ye away team, Mr. Varis." Gallia interjected, feeling like she didn't have time to spare to get on it.

"Work it out." Phoenix said as she moved to the bridge door. "And lets get moving."
