Alicia was waiting for Savar’s arrival home, she’d prepared a meal for them that she hoped Savar would like. Their connection was telling her that not all was right with Savar, he felt off in some way but she couldn’t quite figure out in what way. She just hoped it was the result of a long day at work no doubt she’d find out when he got home.
Savar was uncharacteristically grumpy. In fact he was in a sour mood by the time he got home. Entering he did not even stop to speak to Alicia instead he went straight into their bedroom to change into some robes as it felt his uniform was suffocating him. He also had the urge to take Alicia now but he was worried he would hurt her for he knew what was happening.... Pon'farr was upon him.
Alicia frowned as she watched Savar go through to the bedroom. Following him she walked into the bedroom and across to him. “Savar ... is everything alright? You feel ... off in ways I can’t explain.”
He spun on her, his eyes angry only with a visible effort was he able to give a halfway polite answer. "I am fine Alicia no reason for you to pry." As he pushed past her and into the study. He needed to center his thoughts, calm the beast within him.
Alicia was becoming more and more concerned as the moments passed, this was not the usual way Savar acted. She had her suspicions as to the cause but didn’t want to provoke or pry if her husband wasn’t willing to talk about it. “Savar ... what’s going on?” She followed him.
"Why do you pry?!" He answered his voice an odd mixture of anger and embarrassment. He had stopped next to a bookcase. "I am fine!" He roared and brought his hand up and down on the bookcase, demolishing it with one blow. His eyes focused on Alicia and again thoughts of pure lust filled his head. he had no other desire than to throw her on the bed and ravish her but he managed to hold back, his concern and love for her stopping him.
Alicia felt the rush of annoyance, anger, embarrassment and pure passion from her husband. “I ... don’t like this, I’m going to call Sickbay.”
"Leave me be!" He yelled at her as he retreated into the study. Sitting on the floor, his robe bunched around him as he tried to find a state of mediation. The blood lust was upon him and he desperately didn't want Alicia to see him like this. but it was too late. His eyes became even more intense as his hands were steepled in front of him
For the first time ever Alicia was afraid of the man she loved most dearly, the look in his eyes was a look she’d never seen before. She didn’t believe he’d hurt her but she’d never seen him this way before. She paused and bravely took a few steps forward, they’d meditated together before to help with their bond so she took a seat on the floor opposite and touched her fingers to his in the way he’d taught her before. “I’m here Imzadi, I want to help you. I’ll do whatever I have to do.”
Savar didn't look at her, his eyes were fixed on some unseen point. When he spoke his voice was a savage whisper. "Pon'farr... the blood lust.....It is upon me Alicia." The words were spoken haltingly and with difficulty as it seemed all Savar's concentration was focused on not lashing out at Alicia.
Alicia nodded. “This is what you’ve been preparing me for Imzadi.” She wanted to reach out to hold him but she daren’t. “I’m not afraid to help you Savar, we are bonded. Just tell me ... what I have to do.”
"Alicia... it is too ...dangerous for you. I could transfer my neurochemical imbalance to you. It could... prove fatal. I am not in control." He gasped raggedly. Fighting to stay in control.
Alicia nodded. “Then we do as we discussed before.” She hit her comm badge. =/\= Alicia to Doctor Sthilg, I need you in my Quarters as soon as possible. =/\=
A low groan escaped past Savar's tightly clenched lips. His body shook from the stress it was under as well as his struggle to stay in control.
The gorn had been eating his dinner when he got the call, but being the hard-working doctor he placed his chili in a stasis field before with a small grumble he picked up his medical kit and headed for the lieutenants quarters. Arriving within munites he pressed the alarm and called out. " Hello, it'sss doctor Sssthilg. You called me." He said politely.
Alicia got to her feet and went to answer the door. “Thank you for coming Doctor.” She motioned him inside. “Savar needs you, it looks like ... Pon’farr has begun.”
" I'm glad you called me." The gorn said as he stepped into the room pulling out his medical scanner. " How are you feeling Savar?" he said calmly as he looked at the incoming results.
"Doctor." Savar replied through clenched teeth. "You will cease your prying or I shall throw you out the nearest airlock."
“He is ... extremely short tempered” Alicia spoke through gritted teeth, she was not just sensing Savar’s emotions she was feeling them as well.”
" Ssso i sssee." The gorn said as he finished his scans. " Sssavar isss this your pon'farr?" He asked calmly.
"Who else would be having it Doctor?" He gasped as he tried to maintain focus.
“He needs my help Doctor” Alicia looked at Sthilg. “I need to know if it’s safe for me to bond with my husband while he’s suffering from Pon’farr. He won’t touch me, he’s holding back.”
" Which is why I need to know if thisss isss hisss firssst Pon’farr. If he'sss not been through this before he could ssseriously hurt you. " he said turning back tot he vulcan. " Jussst nod if thisss isss your firssst time Sssavar. Doctor-patient confidentiality isss in full effect. You don't want to hurt you wife do you? " he said professionally.
Savar gasped, his eyes closed as he rocked back and forth. "Doctor.... I have no wish or desire to hurt my wife." He whispered hoarsely.
Alicia moved to kneel by Savar. “You would never hurt me Imzadi. I will do everything I can to help you.” She looked at Sthilg.
Savar nodded, his eyes now tightly closed. "Alicia........"
" I know that asss well which is why as your doctor I want to help you. I'm going to replicate you sssome medication it will help you think more clearly. Thisss isn't the first pon'farr I've helped treat." the gorn said standing up as he looked at the data he'd recovered with his scanner. Stepping over to the replicator he began typing in the medical override code that would allow him to replicated the need medicine.
Alicia watched as Sthilg did his work she was feeling the building passion within Savar, he was fighting it back so hard as she sat there with him. “I’m here Imzadi no matter what, I’m yours and always will be.”
"M..ust stay in control. Must stay in control! " Savar repeated, "Can.... not lose control." He gasped.
Alicia was trying her hardest to keep a clear head, their mental connection wasn’t helping her in that respect. She was feeling the burn of Pon’farr through her bond with Savar, now she understood why he’d been preparing her for this time. “Whatever you’re going to do doctor, you’d best domit soon. I can feel it too, I’m not sure how long I can hold back.”
With two hyposprays in hand, the gorn returned. " Okay thisss is for you Ssaver." he said injecting the Vulcan in the neck. " Breath in and out and lisssten to your heart beat. " he said before turning to Alicia. " Here I have one for you as well."
Alicia nodded grateful for a knowledgeable Doctor. “Thank you Doctor”
Savar nodded wearily as the CMO injected him. Then he did as instructed and listened to the rhythmic beating of his heart.
" Breath in and out. You ssshould ssstart to feel better. " The gorn said monitoring his levels with his scanner.
Savar did as told, breathing in and out in deep regular breaths ans slowly the veil was being lifted and his thoughts seemed much clear, coherent.
" There we go. You feeling better?" The gorn asked as he saw the results on the scanner.
Slowly Savar opened his eyes, he looked at Alicia before settling on the CMO. "Yes, Thank you Doctor. I apologize for my earlier outburst. Will Alicia be alright?"
“I’m fine, now that you’re calmed down” Alicia offered a smile. “So ... what happens now?”
" The medicine hasss given you sssome control of your sssensssesss, but it won't last. I take it the two of you have discusssssed thisss and what you'd do? " the doctor asked politely.
Alicia looked at the Gorn Doctor. “I’m prepared to do whatever is necessary, Savar is my husband and as such it’s up to me to help him.”
" Well you can wait out the pon'farr with medication, but I'd not recommend it. The bessst way isss to do the busssinessssss. I can sssend you a lissst of oilsss and ointmentsss that can help, but I'd like to sssee both of you in medbay tomorrow for a checkup." The gorn replied with the same professional manner that he gave to any patient.
"Doctor is it truly necessary for me to come to Sickbay?" Savar asked softly as the medication continued to clear his mind and he could think clearer. A cloud was being lifted from his mind and his emotions also were coming under his control but it was only a temporary reprieve until the Pon'farr ritual could be completed.
" I have to make sssure it'sss been brought under control Savar." The gorn replied honestly. " You wouldn't want it to get passssssed around would you?"
"Doctor, Pon'farr is inherent to Vulcans. It cannot be passed onto other species." Savar whispered.
“Except for me” Alicia looked at her husband. “I feel it too Savar.”
"What you felt Alicia were my symptoms of Pon'farr. Not the actual illness if you will. You cannot catch it." Savar stated.
“Well that makes me feel better” Alicia looked at the Gorn Doctor waiting to see what he’d say.
" Very well. " The gorn said standing up. " Come to sssickaby if there'sss anything wrong, but i'll get out of your hair."
Alicia nodded. “Thank you Doctor, I appreciate you coming here to help us.”
"Your assistance is greatly appreciated Doctor. We shall keep you apprised if any problems develop." Savar added.
