Mission: Season 3: Episode 4: Cause and Effect
Location: Various - Planet Side - Elysium

"Greetings, there are two locations we are beaming you down to. Team 3, will be commanded by Lieutenant Commander cha'Salik hei-Surak Talek-sen-deen and will consist of
Lieutenant Commander Vaii , Lieutenant Voight, Lieutenant Nevada McKay and Warrant Officer Timothy Rhodes Sr." She waved the first group forward. "Co-ordinates are set." She said. "Energize when ready."

Jess materialized with the team in what appeared to be seventeenth century London. Which happened to be a secluded roadway. "Never saw home look like this. I wonder what the airstrip looks like that where my house looks like?" She said in confidence.

Savar stepped up beside her. His eyes sweeping the area. "We must be careful not to arouse suspicion with the locals as we search for Commander Westin."

"Not only that, but we need a place to start Commander, and to coordinate with the other teams. We keep our profile low, we don't stand out. That being said, I refuse to die without orders." Jess mentioned.

"I quite agree Commander in regards to orders keep contact with locals to a minimum. As far as Commander Westin. Arrest and detain him. He has not influenced the timeline yet. We must make sure that he does not. We will move towards town, concentrate on where people would gather, inns and taverns." Savar commented.

Jess nodded. "Remember, we're there to have a good time. Try to act more human, Savar." Jess grinned. She knew she was going to get him to raise his eyebrow.

Savar didn't disappoint. He arched an eyebrow and looked at Jess. "Have you been speaking with Alicia? She has been telling me to 'loosen up' more. I have told her my flexibility is fine." He finished completely deadpan.

Nevada shifted uneasily as she glanced around the streets. "Just be careful," she muttered as she tugged at the Uncomfortable dress she was in. "Small pox was very Active during this time period, and I'd Hate to have to explain to Star Fleet why I need a shit load of anti virals and Biohazard gear," She said a bit louder, with a knowing chuckle.

"Don't worry El-Tee, we won't die form smallpox after all those injections the good doc gave us. We'll instead die from being burned at the stake when people accuse us of witchcraft. Yeah, we're going to have to act like proper ladies, and that is a skill I unfortunately have been well trained in." Jess shifted her voice into a calmer, more feminine tone. "I believe it is time for us to inquire as to the whereabouts of our mutual acquaintance." It was a stark contrast from the rough edge Commander Vaii usually had, If people were watching, it would be unsettling.

"I should be acting more...ah..." Nevada shifted. "Servile, but, and pardon My Spanish, A la mierda eso," She muttered as she glanced nervously around the Roadway.

Jess spoke. "My mother had certain standards I had to live up to in Betazoid High-Society. I was to act like a proper, well-mannered, well-educated, well-groomed member of high society. If I did not, she was painfully creative in how she abused me."

"At least you didn't have to get creative with the make-up to cover up spots the way I did," Olivia replied. "It took some doing to get it just right so that it didn't appear that I was wearing to much make-up and it look as natural as possible. Plus all the cloth used for the dresses seems a bit over done, but I guess it goes with the time period we are in right now."

"Ahem." Savar interrupted softly. "If you all are done talking of make up and how to act like a well mannered lady, we can continue our search. Unless of course you wish to discuss nail polish and ladies footwear of the era." He finished, his voice never changing tone but there was a slight twinkle in his eye at his jesting.

“Footwear for this time period isn’t a favorite either for me, but I will make due,” Olivia replied. “As far as nail polish, are you sure it was even around during this time?” Olivia smiled a bit sheepishly over at Savar. “Plus, as an added bonus if needed you could always say your our brother chaperoning us on a little outing should we get approached by someone.”

Savar inclined his head at Olivia's statement. "I confess I do not know about nail polish. That is a subject Alicia would have more expertise in than myself. Saying I am your brother is acceptable and should work if we get anyone to inquire about us."

Olivia smiled a little. "So which direction do you suggest we head in first?," Olivia asked.

"If we wish to find Commander Westin or even learn of his whereabouts then we should visit the local taverns. That is where there would be the greatest concentration of people." Savar answered

Jen smirked. "In this time, the only women you would find in such places of ill-repute are waitresses and whores." She stated. "Furthermore, women and men did not drink with each other. It lead to indiscretions and bastardization. God was not forgiving in Protestant England, but women did have places to drink. Since I know the country that has adopted me from Betazed quite well, I know where to find Salons in this time. Women in this period always knew their husband's secrets. It helped them when it came time to take them to task."

Savar arched an eyebrow at Jess, "Impressive thinking and most logical as well." Savar commented "If you have any inclination to where we may be able to either find or get a lead on Commander Westin then please lead the way. Comm.... I mean Jen." Savar had no problem with Jen leading the search for Commander Westin if it meant they found him quicker and without incident.

"We can use both plans. Rhodes, go with Savar. Get some drinks. The thing about bars is that off-duty guards like to go there and yammer about how their day went. Hang out there long enough with a drink and you can learn quite a few things on the grapevine. McKay, Voight, you're with me. We're going to have a pleasant evening of girl talk on the Old London night life. We're going to be the arranged wives of desperate lords. Remember, Proper Ladylike behavior." Jess shook her head. 'By the four goddesses, snap-rolls don't make me hurl, but this might.' Jess whispered to herself and spoke in a low tone again. "Furthermore, and I say this to my pilots, if you see James Westin. Hit the combadge and get a hold of the team. No one has orders to die under my command, and no one ever gets left behind." Jen turned and proceeded down the streets.

Savar considered Jess's plan it was sound. "Most logical." He turned to Rhodes, "Shall we go Mr. Rhodes? Drink await us."

"No hay manera en el infierno," Nevada said under her breath. "Of all the points in history we could have ended up, it had to be this...cesspool of a Time period," she grumbled as she struggled to try and give herself a Spanish accent. "Moroccan?" She glanced to Jess. "Or spania?"

"I would suggest Moroccan. You might become an idle fascination than an enemy spy to be hung." She noted. "The British hate the Spanish in this period more than they hate the French, and no one hates Catholics more than the Protestants. Lets keep interaction to a minimum and just listen to the Rumor-mongering. Pretty much, in this time, everyone know everyone's business, and no one minded their own business as well. Now, at these social gatherings we're going to. People pretended to be civil and charitable, but in reality. It was a game of grace and elegance played until the death." Jess noted. "I know it because I once played the game on Betazed, and I hated every moment of it."

"All the more reason to avoid contact with the inhabitants of this time and find Commander Westin and return to the ship." Savar added as they headed for the nearest tavern.

As the group began to move a call from the Elysium came. "Team three you are to return to the ship immediately. A survivor from a previous Federation ship has been found and is already back aboard the Elysium. Team four has been notified and is intensifying their search for the other survivor."

The group beamed back immediately.
