Alicia was lost, in all the confusion of the slave revolt everyone had their hands full, she had decided to try getting some of Connor's things from MU Gary & Alicia's quarters, she figured Captain Taylor would be too busy to be in his quarters. On the way she had gotten turned around, pausing she stopped a crewman hoping he'd mistake her for her Counterpart and asked the way to her quarters.
A few minutes later she arrived outside the door, she hadn't risked bringing Connor with her it was far too dangerous even for her. Entering she made her way straight through to the nursery picking up a bag she packed it as fast as she could wanting to get the hell out and away.
Gary came into his quarters. To place some important documents in his personal safe. The slaves, including the crew of the USS Elysium had revolted but he was confident his crew could handle and contain them. He was turning to leave when saw movement from the nursery. Curious he went to investigate and stopped dead in his tracks as he saw Alicia standing there, picking up Connor's clothes and some of his toys. "What do you think you're doing?" He demanded.
Alicia spun around coming face to face with Captain Taylor himself, "I ... I'm packing a bag for Connor." She had no idea how her counterpart acted around Taylor so she couldn't play the part properly if she tried. "He needs his things."
"What he needs is his father." Gary countered as he moved closer. "You aren't my Alicia. so you must be her mirror." He sneered at her. "Where is my son?!" He demanded.
Alicia stood her ground, she had nowhere to go for the moment. "He's safe" Alicia kept her cool and didn't show her fear. "Your Alicia gave up her son because she wanted him to be safe, you're a hunted man Captain! Do you seriously think Connor would survive if anything happened to you?"
"He stands a better chance with me then he does with you and your rag tag group of slaves and escaped crew from the other Elysium. Do you really think you are going to win?"
"Do you!?" Alicia looked at Taylor's mirror self. "Tell me something Captain ... If it came down to a choice between your own life or that of your son which would you choose? Would you sacrifice your own life to save him?"
"Of course I would!" He snapped, "He stands a better chance with me than with you."
"Without his mother?" Alicia looked at Taylor but also took in her surroundings looking for a way to get away. "A baby needs his mother! I don't see her here and she was obviously afraid enough to give up what was most precious to her."
"She betrayed me and she panicked an error in judgment." He replied dismissively "And you no matter how much you look like her are not his mother."
"No I'm not" Alicia nodded in agreement. "But I'm the closest thing he has to his mother now and he has two father's on my side who are both twice the man you are!" She backed away just a little keeping hold of the bag of baby items she'd packed. "Here he's got just you to protect him, with me he has a whole crew!"
He gave a sharp, bitter laugh. "Neither is his father! Tell me where my son is!" He growled as he took a step toward Alicia.
"No!" She grabbed the nearest thing she could find, a lamp from the bedside table and struck him across the head with it. Taking her chance she dived around him hoping she'd have chance to get out of the door and away.
The unexpected blow staggered him as Alicia dove past him. He turned to her, blood streaming from the wound. He pulled out his phaser. "If I can't have my son, than neither will you!" He roared as he fired at the escaping Alicia.
Alicia hid behind the bedroom wall clapping her hand over phaser burn on her arm. She had to get to the main door and out before Taylor got another chance at her, she knew she'd never make it unless she put up a fight. This time she grabbed an ornament and stood waiting for him to pop his head out of the door, she needed to make sure he was down to get out of the door in one piece.
Gary moved slowly, a deadly predator in search of it's prey. "Come out, come out wherever you are." He said in a sing song voice as he drew closer to Alicia's place of hiding.
"You want me ... Come and get me!" She held her ground ready to crown him with the ornament but she needed to knock the phaser from his hand first or he'd stand a chance of firing it again.
He chuckled evilly, "Ready or not here I come." He answered as he advanced on Alicia. Ready to burn her where she stood. His phaser in front of him, he crept slowly forward.
The moment his hands and the phaser appeared around the doorframe Alicia took her chance, striking hard with the ornament she knocked the phaser out of his hands and kicked it under the furniture where he couldn't reach it.
He yelped in pain. "I don't need a phaser to kill you!" He sneered. "I can do it with my own two hands!" As he swung to face her. "You'll soon join your other you in death."
Alicia swung the ornament again hoping to get a lucky shot and knock him down, she struck but how severely she wasn't sure. As she tried to run she caught her footing causing her to stumble and fall.
The blow hit the side of his head causing another wound to open and bleed. A crazed smile came to his face as Alicia fell, "Nowhere to run my little mouse, I have you now. Say your prayers if you know any."
"I'm not giving up yet!" She kicked out with her feet as she pushed herself up off the floor, she wasn't dying today. "Some of us actually have a life to live with those who love us!"
"Love? What would someone like you know about love? I loved your mirror and she betrayed me! You are no different!"
"But I am" Alicia paused to turn and look at the bloody man behind her. "I love my husband with all my heart, he may well be a Vulcan but we are bonded. I carry his child and I do so proudly! I would never betray him."
"LIES!" He roared. "All you can do is lie. You will betray him someday, it's in your nature."
"No it's in yours! You made her what she was, so the flaw was yours!" She turned toward the door to leave she wanted as far away from Taylor as she could get. Just the sight of him made her feel sick. “Don’t worry about Connor, he’ll grow up a stronger and better man than his father ever was!! A good man, not a tyrant like you.”
"I treated her like a queen and trusted her! She took that trust and betrayed it, Just like you will do." He sneered. "You are all liars and deceivers!"
“You tar everyone with the same brush! I’m not her, but I can’t say I blame her!” She scowled at Taylor. “You’re cruel and unforgiving, you treat everyone like they’re not important. Good luck Captain you’re going to need it!!”
"I ask for loyalty and instead I am betrayed. If your mate betrayed you would you be so unforgiving?" he questioned.
“I trust my mate Captain, I know he wouldn’t betray me.” Alicia put the bag over her shoulder and started moving towards the door. “I suggest you watch your back Captain.”
"Arrrgggggghhhhhhh!" He screamed and rushed for her, unfortunately his balance was off and his sight partially obscured by the blood in his eyes that he stumbled and fell into the wall.
Taking her chance Alicia bolted out into the corridor, crashing into someone with a startled yelp.
"Easy Alicia, I have you." Savar told his wife as he looked to see if she was being followed. But no one came after her.
“Savar!” She hugged her husband tightly.
"Yes. Alicia. You are safe. Let us get out of here before that changes."
Alicia nodded. “I managed to get what I came for, I just didn’t plan on bumping into Captain Taylor.”
"Taylor? You had an encounter with Captain Taylor?" Savar questioned as he glanced back up the corridor to see if Taylor was following them.
Alicia nodded. “I figured he wouldn’t be home but he surprised me.” She offered a wry smile. “Don’t worry I crowned him a couple of times, he won’t be up on his feet right away he can’t even stand up!” She hurried along checking the phaser burn on her arm as she did so, it was sore but nothing that couldn’t be healed she just needed to keep it clean for now.
"Good for you Alicia. I always knew you could handle yourself." Savar remarked and noticed her arm. "What is wrong with your arm?" He questioned.
“Phaser burn” She gave her husband an embarrassed look. “He drew a phaser, I’m lucky it was just this patch he hit. I used an ornament to knock the phaser out of his hand. He’s completely crazy! I wasn’t going to give him Connor’s location. He doesn’t deserve to be a father!”
"I see." He replied. He was not happy with Alicia being hurt. "You should not have gone there alone Alicia but I am grateful your wound is not thar severe."
“I’m sorry, I just ... wanted to get some of Connor’s own things, to help him settle better back on our Elysium. I should have waited for you.”
"It is alright Alicia. You are safe. Next if there is a next time. Please wait for me. I would appreciate it. Savar replied.
Alicia nodded. “There won’t be a next time, I’m mother to a baby boy now and we have our baby on the way too. I have to protect them both.” She offered a smile.
"I shall hold you to that promise Alicia. it would ease my mind considerably if you kept it." Savar replied as he remembered how Alicia looked holding a small baby boy, hers yet not hers but that made no difference. She loved Connor as any mother would love their child.
“I will make it my vow to you” She smiled warmly. “That I will never endanger my life or that of our children.” She looked around as they walked. “I have to get back to Connor, he was sleeping when I left him with the others if he’s woken up he’ll be upset.”
"No vow is necessary Alicia. I believe you." Savar replied, nodding as Alicia said she needed to get back to Connor. "Of course Alicia. Our son needs his mother."
Alicia smiled the biggest smile yet. “Do you know how good it is to hear you say that? I wasn’t sure how you'd feel about us having Connor, even though he’s not truly my son I felt a connection with him straight away.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Whether that has something to do with my being pregnant I’m not sure, all I know is I’m going to protect him no matter what.”
"I know you will Alicia and I will protect you and our children." Savar replied.
