Mission: Season 4: Episode 2: Rest And Relaxation
Location: Gymnasium
Timeline: Current
602 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure

Arrianna entered the gymnasium with her practice saber and stepped into a practice ring. On demand a holographic fencer appeared and gave her a salute with his saber. Arri gave the fencer a salute as well and then put on her fencing helmet. Two swords began clashing with each other as Arri pushed the Fencer back. It didn't take long for her to find an opening near the neck, distract the hologram with a deflecting kick, and then slide her blade across his throat.

Arrianna shook her head. "Computer elevate difficulty another level."

"Fencing Program Difficulty at Maximum Level."

Victor and Tonya walked into the gymnasium as well wearing warmup clothes. They were both there to lift weights as they would spot each other. As they both saw Arianna fencing, Victor's memory went back when he had taken classes from Mackenzie Calhoun. As the memory came, his mouth curved a bit.

"What are you smiling about," Tonya asked.

"Oh just how a former captain I served with would go on away missions with a sword strapped to his waist," Victor answers. "His name was Mackenzie Calhoun. We were just about to go on a mission before timeline corrected itself."

Arrianna spoke. "Would you like to practice, Lieutenant."

"Sure," Victor answers. "I would like to fence but I am here with Tonya."

Tonya sensed this was something he like to do,"Victor, you go ahead. I will do squats."

"Thanks," Victor says as he approaches the mat. "Arianna. You fence very well but this program is inadequate. You telegraphed your move and any great fencer would have parried your lunge follow by a quick thrust to the heart." Victor began putting on his protective gear.

Arri spoke. "That's because I was fighting a the training program. During the searing we learned quckly that a sword was our only weapon against Borg Drones. So. The practice of Swordplay has been practiced by my kin for two centuries."

"As a young man, I was taught my grandfather, Captain Jedediah Solomon and lately by Captain Mackenzie Calhoun," Victor says, "It would be great to face off against a worthy oponent as thyself."

Arrianna proceeded with an elegant flourish. "Finally, someone new to duel with. I get so tired of holograms."

Tonya spoke. "Careful Victor. What the Alindari lack in strength, they make up for in speed." She smiled while doing squats.

I see," Victor says studying her carefully. He places the mask over his face. Victor takes sabre stance with his hand on his hip. "En guarde."

It was fast, agile, and disciplined. She was also calculating. Examining her enemy. Suddenly she performed a deception that allowed her to open a hole in his defense. She was extreamly elegant. Finally, her deception worked and she pushed the saber on him.

She received the first point. Second one went to Victor. "1 to 1. Tonya is right. You are fast but a good parry always helps."

Arri spoke. "We're not the strongest on the battlefield. The strongest of us, matches a human in combat. Our battle doctrine is always deception. Attack where your enemy is not. We end the war quickly, lure the enemy into a mass deception. Then special forces teams push behind enemy lines and start wrecking havok. We win the war, then we fight the battle."

"I can tell," Victor says nodding. Arri won the first match 5 to 4 while Victor won the second 5 to 4. He could see Tonya was finished with her exercise routine. "Well we can pick up another time. I am going to give Tonya some attention. "

"It was a pleasure, Lieutenant." Arri noted.
