Meeting Under Better Circumstances

Posted on Thu Nov 26th, 2020 @ 11:28pm by Senior Chief Petty Officer Fernando De La Rosa [Taylor] & Lieutenant JG Heather De La Rosa {Kelea-Salik}

Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: De La Rosa Quarters
1134 words - 2.3 OF Standard Post Measure

Jess approached the De La Rosa's Quarters with some chips and salsa to pass the time, and it was her own amazing recipie as well. She wanted to see how they were doing, as well as Man'darr. She smiled and pushed the doorchime.

Heather walked across to the door offering a smile as she saw Jess. “Hey Jess, come on in!”

"Hey you two." Jess noted with a smirk. "Miss having me as your squad lead?" She quipped. "You two did great for your first rodeo in a spacesuit."

“Yeah that wasn’t as bad as I imagined.” Heather grinned. “I won’t be doing any more zero g stuff for several months now though.” She gave Fernando a smile before looking back at Jess. “I’m three weeks pregnant.”

"Hello Jess." Fernando greeted their friend, "Can I get you something to drink and please sit down." As he gestured to the couch. "And you heard right. Heather is three weeks pregnant."

"Then I'm really glad I got you two back. Just iced tea right now, I won't be drinking anything hard for a good long time." Jess mentioned. “You know, I don't think I meet you two much before we had to fight the Terrans. Was too busy fixing fighters and flying things." Jess mentioned.

“Well you know us now Jess, we owe you so much!” Heather smiled warmly. “It seems this mirror universe brought us all something good or bad. For us it was a baby.”

"I couldn't have done it without you two. It's not just the leader. It's the people who trusted me with their lives. Without you two, we wouldn't have been able to free the crew.

"I don't know about that Jess. You were doing great before we met up with you." Fernando pointed out.

Jess shook her head. "I don't want to be a hero, but now I'm something of inspiration to the crew. I've even got offers for the XO chair on other starships." Jess noted. "I don't want to leave the Elysium. I'll serve a Captain who believes I'm the right woman for the job, not someone who's trying to poach me. I'd rather follow Gary Taylor or someone else here as XO of a Starship." Jess mentioned. "I'd know my Captain, and what he'd expect from me."

"I commend you and your thinking Jess, That's a very thoughtful way to look at it. I'm glad to hear you want to stay on the Elysium. Heather and I would miss you greatly if you left." Fernando replied sincerely.

Heather nodded. “Indeed we would. Besides I’d like our child to have a chance at learning from his or her auntie Jess!”

Jess chuckled. "I'm already the aunt to Connor, Now I have another Nephew or Niece? Now it looks like I'll have two of them to teach how to be a fighter pilot."

Heather smiled. “Speaking of Connor, he’s not the only child from the mirror universe encounter.” She looked at Fernando then back at Jess. “The baby I’m carrying isn’t mine, he or she was the child of mirror Fernando. The mother didn’t want the baby so I volunteered to be the mother.

"Oh I don't blame her one bit, Heather." Jessica noted. "I wouldn't want my worst enemy raised in the Terran Empire. Sides, I look at Connor and even your child and I see myself being whipped by my own mother. I knew in my heart. They torture their children." Jessica mentioned. "I joined Starfleet to fight for the innocents in this world, and I'm glad we could take these children away from that place. There's just one thing, you two. If I'm going to be his or her Aunt, then we need to tell them the truth when their ready to hear what went down. I, Alicia, and Savar have already agreed to that with Connor." Jess noted. "I have a terrible feeling that if we don't... It would be a betrayal."

"It is only right that they know where they came from." Fernando replied "As well as the circumstances that brought them here."

Heather nodded. “I agree, it’s only right. Secrets only lead to pain and unhappiness.”

Jess smirked. "Then i guess I'm going to have two nuggets to train every summer at my house in Dover. And at this rate I might as well open up a flight school."

Fernando chuckled, "You know Jess, that is not a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all. You should really look into that, We'll sign our child up to learn from you. Because we know you'll teach them right."

Heather nodded in agreement. “It’s a good sideline for when things are quiet or during shore leave.”

"Or when you retire and you want something to keep you busy." Fernando added with a smile. "You know instead of sitting in your rocking chair on your front porch at your house in Dover.'

"Goddesses, Fernando. I have no intention, when I retire, to sit on my porch and shout at the kids on my lawn." Jessica mentioned. "I intend to keep on flying until the day I die. That being said. I've been thinking on making my secondary position as Academy Flight Instructor legit, and up till now I've been doing it as a side thing. Maybe I should talk the boss about it, as I've already trained about twenty six flight cadets how to fly a fighter. They're all still alive too."

“Then that goes to prove just how skilled you are Jess” Heather smiled warmly. “If you can teach my child or children, if we decide to have any more, to be as good as you in years to come I’ll be reassured that they’ll survive out there no matter what.”

"Yeah..." Jess noted. "Hell I've been looking for love for a while now, so I can start my family, but that is as complicated as the Saturn V Pre-Launch Checklist." Jess chuckled.

“Don’t give up Jess” Heather smiled. “I never thought I’d find love so quickly after what happened to me but my knight in shining armour here ...” she looked at Fernando. “Turned out to be the perfect man for me! There’s someone out there for you too.”

"One more thing, guys." Jess mentioned. "Sure I'll teach the kids to fly. But if they decide one day to go into Counseling and Security. I'm still going to teach those Counselors and Security how to fly and fight like hell. And I'll support them no matter what they do."

"We wouldn't have it any other way Jess. We want our kids to learn from the best and that is you." Fernando replied honestly.

“Exactly!” Heather nodded in agreement.
