Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: A Beach on Pacifica
Timeline: 13h00 in the afternoon, last day of Shoreleave
3044 words - 6.1 OF Standard Post Measure

Andy had grabbed a plate, and overloaded it with pretty much every plate that he liked, there were some that he avoided, but for the most part he grabbed most. So much that he had trouble keeping it all on the plate. Slowly he made his way to the area of the beach with less people running around, less chance of eating sand.

Tonya seeing Andy as she was about to grab a plate, she said to him, "Turns out you were right. My friend Jessica North with JAG caught Bolt. There will be a trial soon."

Standing and putting his plate down, "Sometimes, things aren't always as they seem Lt. Always keep options open." He replied as he shook the sand off his clothes. "I am glad that things will be brought to justice." He winced as several kids ran by covering his food with sand. "Well, I seen you heading over to the food table, looks like Im heading there once again. Care to join me?"

Tonya's mother Maria walks up. "Tonya, let me help you with the food. Your father and the father of your child is trying to see what you daughter got herself in to yesterday."

"Mother," Tonya takes a deep breath. "Genetically she is my daughter but she is more his daughter. Let him and Dad handle it. "

Maria kept her opinions to herself. "You are correct but just know your father and I have accepted the two children as ours. You go at your own pace." Maria thought she might have said too much as she brought the food to the others.

After she left, Tonya says to Andy, "I am sure you heard about this new change in my life. Letting nature takes its course is easier said than done. I will sit with you. After all, you are my friend."

"Would you care to discuss it while we eat, or possibly at a later date... I mean time." Andy asked as he started filling a second plate. "I have heard of what happened, I wasn't aboard the ship at the time. Maybe one that won't analyze as a counsellor would could help?"

Victor and his daughter Lara were still talking to Arianna with Lara's grandfather Jerry was observing.

Lara was explaining the different scenarios on the experiments she might have done and the one that stood out because it was only one that made sense where it would warrant the Temporal Police would shoe up.

"Lara," Victor says to her, "Creating a living polymer organism using technology from the future could have backfired. You could have created a self replicating android. No telling what kind of software that badge had in it. You know the Federation has outlawed android research."

"But I was just hoping to keep it in a state like a Mercury-like state," Laura sighed. "I guess I will know in a couple of months what I did."

"So will I, my sister and who knows else," Victor facepalms himself. "Your grandfather is right. You can not be disciplined or scolded for something that did not happen."

"Do not worry Dad," Lara replied. "If something happens that was not meant to happen, we will get another visit from the Temporal Police."

Arri thought a moment. "We need to have the resources on hand to deal with these convergences so that this 'temporal police' won't be needed. I do believe they might be hoping for a hands-off solution to this situation. Time travel is... unpredictable, that's why it's banned in the Imperium."

"Not Temporal Police on duty today," Lara clarified. "The ones I saw were from the future. Who is the Chief Research Officer? I might to to know that Officer."

Victor replied, "That would be Lt. Nevada McKay. I have been meaning to meet with Lt. McKay. I will ask if it is okay with Arianna."

"Very well," Arri mentioned in agreement.

Miran sat under a sunshade as the sun began its slow sink into the ocean.

Triston walked over and sat down on the sand beside her and handed her a soda. "Heya."

"Heya" She replied. "Where is Raye?"

"She is with her mother and siblings... something about, making sure that her siblings are not mucking up." Triston replied with a smile. He paused. "You doing ok?"

"Getting there."

"And your sister?"

"I don't know. Since Liselle left... since... who knows. She says she is fine." Miran leaned back on her elbows, glad she was dressed in shorts and a tee-shirt. It was comfortable. "I think she believes our mother to be alive."

"And you?"

Miran shrugged.

Phoenix wandered through the crowd with a fixed smile on her lips allowing the crew's joy in each other to wash over her.

As Turak saw the Captain coming through the crowd, he straightened himself up and said, "greetings Captain, how are you enjoying the party?"

Phoenix smiled at the Security officer. "Yes Commander I am. Are you?"

Alicia sat in the shade beneath a tree, Connor was sitting playing with his toys on the blanket seemingly enjoying himself. She smiled as she looked towards Savar even though she was feeling somewhat queasy. She’d suffered fairishly during the last three months but would soon be past it now.

Savar turned his head and caught Alicia looking at him. "Is everything alright Alicia?" His voice taking a slightly concerned tone.

Alicia offered a smile. “To a point ...” she nodded. “Just a little queasy, it’s starting to get better.” She offered a brief smile.

"I am sorry Alicia, do you have any medication for this situation?" He inquired.

Alicia shook her head. “Don’t worry I’ll be fine. It’s not as bad as it has been.”

Heather and Fernando arrived a few minutes later. Fernando was wearing brightly colored shorts and sandals, sun glasses, a floppy beach hat and last but not least a garishly colored Hawaiian shirt that you could throw up on and no one would notice. Fernando not only marched to his own drum, he was the entire band. "Is there anywhere particular you wish us to sit Heather?" He asked as he looked over the beach.

Heather had arrived wearing a bikini complete with skirt around the bottom half. Her skin was naturally tanned which all added to how she looked. She wore a pair of matching sandals. “Anywhere in the shade is fine by me” She smiled warmly at Fernando.

Fernando nodded, "In the shade." He repeated as he looked about and spotted a umbrella that no one had yet claimed. "Over here Heather." He said as they moved towards the umbrella.

Heather smiled and nodded as she made her way over, setting out their beach blanket under the shade of the umbrella for them to sit down. She whispered to him. “Is everything ready for our surprise? Do you plan to tell the others about the baby? I think they’ll probably guess anyway if I have to run off to the nearest bathroom!”

"Everything is ready, They should be arriving any minute. I hope the others like it." He smiled and squeezed her hand. "We will tell them together Heather." Fernando replied.

Heather smiled warmly. “I just don’t want you to feel pressured into saying anything that’s all.” She cuddled up next to him in the cool shade, glad to have found the umbrella, it was pretty hot out in the sun.

"I don't Heather. This is a happy occasion and I want everyone to know." Fernando answered just as the sound of trumpets could be heard, followed by booming drums. He grinned at Heather. "Our surprise as arrived." As a full band and a blonde haired woman came in.

"I'm Cassie Overwood and this is the Pacifica Philharmonic Orchestra and we've been commissioned to provide your listening entertainment for the evening." She announced.

Heather smiled. The orchestra were very popular and so was Cassie. “I think they will. At least I hope so!”

"I hope as well Heather." Fernando replied as he watched the orchestra begin to play. Suddenly he stood up and extended his hand to her, "May I have this dance?"

Heather nodded and took her husband’s hand. “I’m rusty, I haven’t danced in a while. Just don’t let me make a fool of myself!”

Fernando kissed her and didn't care who saw. He loved Heather totally and completely. "A slow dance and I would never let you make a fool of yourself Heather."

Heather smiled as she danced slowly with Fernando, it was so romantic she almost wished that the dance and the whole evening never had to end.

Gary saw Fernando and Heather begin to dance. "That's a good idea." He said as he extended his hand to Lia. "We can practice for the wedding."

Glancing in the direction of the De La Rosa's, Lia smiled and stood up. "Speak for yourself, I had to practice dance as a kid. Plus as a Geisha, I'm expected to be able to dance properly. So here's hoping you can keep up, now are doing western style or Japanese?"

"Western." Gary replied taking Lia's hand as he began waltzing her around the beach.

Jessica noticed something on Naxea's finger and then spoke. "Man'darr, take over for me." Jess then walked up to Naxea. "Well, looks like the Corps finally issued you a husband." Jess glanced at the ring.

"I tried to exchange him but the decision was final," Naxea joked, producing smile--something that hadn't been on her face in over two weeks.

"I guess they weren't horsing around, huh?" Jessica chuckled. "Congratulations you two. You two deserve all the happiness in the world." Jess looked at S'hib. "Lieutenant. I want to thank you for saving Naxea. I've lost too many friends to the Terrans. I'm glad to know you saved this one."

"She's didn't make it easy for me," He grinned, reaching out and gently gripping her hand. "Can't blame her though, I'm a pain to put up with..."

"That's putting it mildly," Naxea commented as she looked past Jess to Man'darr. "I see you're spending time with Warrant Officer Man'darr," she said, grinning.

Jess nodded. "The man saved my ass back there, and we're taking it at our own pace. We're both people that do things when we want to, and only when that happens, but mostly. When you face death and pain with someone, it creates something stronger. If it happens, it happens when we feel like it, Nax." Jessica noted. "And this time, don't you dare eat the flowers, horseman. I'm catching them properly this time. Goddesses almighty, I'll never live that scandal down."

“They were delicious by the way.” He smiled back, his lips slowly turning into a grin as he savoured his own joke.

Nevada Mckay slowly made her way towards the Large Crew gathering, having chosen to Come dressed in her Usual Garrison uniform, and a rather Large Tiki cocktail clutched tightly in her hand. Despite the massive amount of alchohol and sythol she'd been downing since shore leave had begun She'd been struggling to get herself drunk. Not that she was Complaining with that fact, but it did make her slightly nervous about what was going on with her Nanite swarm.

Ensign Louis Bordeaux, one of the Engineers was the first to see Nevada walking up. Since he had never met her and she was interesting and not like the others who were wearing bathing suits to show off their figures, he brought up the courage to talk to Nevada. "Good afternoon," he said with a smile, "I am Louis. Nice to meet you."

Nevada Broke herself away from the Readouts that her Body was flashing across her vision to smile at him. "Is it Afternoon?" she asked trying to put on an air of intoxication. "Fuck...I need to stop drinking then..." she chuckled and extended her hand towards him. "I'm Nevada, Its a pleasure."

"Likewise," Bordeaux gave her a nod. "I have real cases French Whiskey and Brandy if you ever want a bottle."

Over by the food Snow was busy carving a few joins of a roasting pig with a small laser he had replicated. Lacking his recharger he had replicated a solar pannel on his back to keep his power supply toped up.

Gallia arrived not long after that, smarting from her demotion, but such things happened when you resigned your commission, she was lucky to be an officer again at all. Gallia, of course, had brought Tayalas to the party and she had seen someone she wanted to see, desperately.

"MIWAN!" The two year old squealed, all caps as usual, "MIWAN I HERE!" With that, she took off as fast as her legs would carry her.

Gary was still dancing with Lia when he heard rather than saw a familiar voice. His hear skipped a beat, could it be true? He dared to look and saw a small little blueberry scooting through the crowd. "Oh my gosh! It's Gallia and Tayalas!!!!! He yelled to the child that he loved like his own. "TAYALAS!" He called out again.

Tayalas heard the voice, it was more important that she see him than she see Miran. She turned and started to run to the sound of his voice, "SANA!!!"

Gary kissed Lia as he took a few steps in Tay's direction then saw her coming through the crowd. He dropped to his knees, his arms outstretched to welcome the darling child. "Tayalas!" He called out as she drew closer.

"Sana!" She squealed as she jumped into his outstretched arms and hugged him hard," Sana, I wub oo!''

Gary's arms wrapped around her and he hugged her tight as he kissed her cheeks and forehead. "I love you too darling, very, very much and I am so happy to see you."

Lia also heard the child's voice, she stepped back and then sat back down. *Well there goes any plans we had*, she thought.

"Mommy, is Sana, mommy. Come see!" Tayalas called her mother quickly, almost as though she was afraid Sana would go away if she waited too long.

Sitting on her blanket Alicia noticed Lia’s reaction to Tayalas’ appearance. She had to admit a little part of herself was concerned that Gary would forget all about Connor with Tayalas being around again. Her gaze met Lia’s and she offered a warm yet understanding smile.

Olivia had been eating on some of the food that she put on her plate when she heard the voice of a certain little Tayalas as she ran towards the Commander and the jumped into his arms. She smiled as she thought about the time she had been able to do a cookie baking lesson with the little blueberry before she and her mother had left unexpectedly. Whatever the cause of them leaving had apparently been dealt with and they both were back now. Maybe now they could do another session of baking some cookies to deliver to those that the little blueberry wanted to deliver them to while the cookies were still fresh. Getting up from where she had been sitting and eating, Olivia walked over to one of the trash cans to deposit her now empty plate. She then walked towards where the Commander was knelt with little Tayalas and knelt down a short distance away from them. "I hope a certain little lady has a hug for me," Olivia said.

"Wivia!!!!" Tayalas eyes went wide, she couldn't believe all her friends were here, just like mommy said. She broke the embrace with Sana and ran to Olivia with her arms wide open, "Wivia!!"

Olivia smiled as Tayalas ran to her with open arms. She opened her arms in return so that she could hug the little one. “It is so good to see you again little one,” Olivia said. “We have another baking lesson to arrange once you and your mommy get settled back on board ship. Plus I’m sure someone could talk their Santa into another swimming lesson as well.”

"We can indeed." Gallia said, joining her daughter as she did, "Olivia, I see she found yeah. Findin' alla her people. Commander."

Lia noticed Alicia smile, she couldn't help but glance at Gary and Tayalas then back to Alicia. She returned the smile but gently shook her head from side to side, even though Taya was her flower girl she still envied Gallia for having her. Lia bit into her bottom lip and blood flowed, but still she sat and watched Tayalas and Connor and Gary.

Alicia got up, making her momentary excuses to Savar and walked over to Lia. "Are you okay?" She noticed Lia's lip and pulled out some tissues she had with her. "Here ... Blot that lip of yours." She turned to look at Gary. "It's not easy is it?" She looked back at Lia. "Anytime you want a friend or just to bend someone's ear you know where to find me." She nodded respectfully and left Lia to it.

Lia took the tissues and held them against her lip, then she stood and followed Alicia. "No it's not easy, but I'm learning or at least trying to learn". She turned and looked at Gary with Tayalas, "That should be Angel he's hugging, and it would be if I were even half a woman. But I'm not, so move on and leave him to it". Lia now sat down beside Alicia, "Can I ask you something?" She shifted and tried to find the right words, "Is it hard being a mother?"

Alicia looked at Connor then back at Lia. “Actually ... no. Granted I’ve got a one year old who sleeps through the night and has set feeding patterns, he’s already on solids so it’s been pretty easy. Whether I’ll say that when I’ve got a newborn to cope with is another thing entirely!” She smiled.

Tayalas could see Lia and could tell she was sad and walked to her and hugged her, "Don be said, Wia."

Bending down Lia picked up Tayalas, "Don't worry sweetheart, Sana's friend is just a little tired. I promise I won't be sad"
