Timeline: After Security Inspection

Gary had gotten back to his and Lia's quarters first after finishing off a series of inspections on the ship's various departments. A wrinkle had been added to the inspections with the arrival of Commander Garrett Lovejoy. A surprise that didn't sit well with Arri. Yet after voicing her displeasure at Lovejoy's presence she had composed herself and conducted a professional tour of her department and its various labs.
The inspection of Lia's security department had gone off without a hitch as Lia provided an excellent tour of her department along with the brig and the armory. She had also provided snacks for both himself and Phoenix. In the form of Ginger Nuts and Custard Creams . She also told Gary of the Hersey bars she had in her desk. Now he was home and waiting for her to get home. while he waited a song came to him. One that summed up how he felt about Lia and hoped when she heard it, that it would remove any doubts of being in Catlin's shadow once and forever.
Computer, play Don't want To Close My Eyes by Areosmith." A moment later the soft notes of the song filled the cabin with Gary singing softly along.

As the song played and Gary sang, he knew he was truly blessed to have met and fallen in love with Lia. She was her own person with her own thoughts, ideas and beliefs. They had their share of disagreements but it never boiled over to other aspects of their marriage and he knew beyond the shadow of a doubt Lia was his most ardent supporter and best friend. He could do no better than Lia.
Now, he needed to come up with an idea for dinner.
