Miraj was drifting on the edge of sleep, still tired after the trip to Quellish, even though they'd been back for a while. Her bed was warm and soft and lulling her into unconsciousness.

Which was when the doorbell went.

For a moment she lay there, confused, and then the noise cut through the cobwebs and she realized what was going on, and dragged a blanket over her long night dress and slouched over to the door and opened it without really thinking. "Yes?" she asked whoever was there, the word half swallowed by a yawn.

"Hi Miraj!" Jason greeted her happily then stopped and looked at her and the picture she presented. A blanket draped across her with a hint of night dress peeking around the edge. Not to mention the look on her face. She looked asleep. Her eyes were half closed. Her pink hair not in their usual pigtails. But rather wild and in disarray. "Um were you sleeping?" He asked stupidly.

"Jason?" She gave him a confused, sleepy stare. "What are you doing here?" She yawned again. "Its nearly midnight."

"is it? Oh Geez, I'm sorry! I was in the simulator and lost track of time. I'll come back at a more appropriate time." He replied, making no attempt to enter her quarters, in fact took a step back.

"Well, you're here now." And she was awake, so might as well make the best of it. "What can I do for you? There's not a problem with the shift assignments is there? I know Carol wasn't happy."

Jason made no move to enter, he felt terrible over waking Miraj. How could he have been so dense? *Way to impress her* He thought sourly. Miraj's question brought him back to the here and now. "None that I'm aware of. She didn't do any complaining or bitching to me."

"Good to hear she's saving it for me." One less problem. "So. Why are you here?"

Now he looked positively down trodden. "That program we worked on? For the cadets to get use to flying and the controls they would need? " A pause, a big pregnant pause. "It's got an error in it." He said laying it right on the line.

"Why is that a problem?" She would be the first to admit her knowledge of holoprogramming was non-existent, but weren't errors normal when you were building things.

"I was going through the start up procedure for the runabouts, knowing the cadets had to learn how to react at certain speeds and everything was fine until I reached warp one. Warp one isn't warp one. It's warp 1.35 and the difference gets worse as warp speed increases. Which throws off reaction time. I can't correct it as I'm not authorized."

"Oh." Well that would explain it. "How did that happen?" If the Computer wasn't calibrated properly, that was an issue that Bareyn Whavi should look at.

"Don't know Miraj." Jason shrugged his shoulders helplessly. "I'm sorry to have bothered you with this so late but I thought you'd want to know as you are Chief Flight Control."

"Its okay." She had said any time. She just hadn't expected anyone to be so literal. "What do you need me to do. Do I have to come down to the holodeck?"

"Go back to bed. get a good night sleep, meet me in the holodeck in the morning and we'll see if we can fix this without the engineers." Jason answered honestly.

"I can't do that." Miraj sighed. "I don't have the first clue how to program a holodeck. About all I can do is give voice authorisation. I think you should call the engineers. Not right now though," she added. "in the morning"

"That isn't entirely true Miraj. You know what warp one FEELS like." He stressed. "You/we can set the speed by the feel you have and then let the engineers double check just to make sure everything is has it should be." He smiled at her, "Go back to bed. I'm going back to the holodeck. I may have missed something."

She didn't have an answers for that. Even though she'd first encountered it when she'd started at the academy, it still didn't make any sense that no one else could feel the ship the way she did. She didn't do anything special, just let herself listen.

"Alright. And everythign else is okay. last time we spoke you seemed a bit...down."

"Um... yeah. Just super. I shouldn't have bothered you with any of my problems. That was wrong. I apologize Miraj." Jason replied as he turned to head back to the holodeck and work on fixing the problem.

"You don't have to apologies. But do speak to the counselors if there are issues. Letting things fester isn't healthy"

Jason gave her a mock salute. "Yes ma'am.' He answered, flashing a hopefully disarming smile at Miraj. "I'll think about it." He assured her.

Miraj tried to make a mental note to bring him up with Alicia or someone. But the thought vanished in a yawn. "Don't think. Do."

He stiffened slightly at her tone but managed a smile. "Yes Miraj." He replied in a schoolboy tone. "Go back to sleep." He added.

"I will." Miraj took a step back from the door. "And thank you for coming. Even at midnight. I'm glad you felt you could come to me."

"Your welcome. Of course I'd come to you. We're a lot alike when it comes to flying. I knew you would understand." Jason answered with a grin.

"Well. I'll see you in the morning." She'd get Neri or Carol to cover conn whilst she dealt with this. "But 10 am. gives me time to get some coffee."

Jason gave her a wave as he headed back down the corridor.. "See you then Miraj." He answered a thought fleeting in his brain. *Did she know how much he liked her?*

Oblivious to his interest, the young pilot shut her door, and collapsed back into bed, asleep before she hit the covers.
