The sneak attack

Kara was sitting around Sickbay wondering what to do with herself whilst Mattias was resting, she was glad he hadn’t put up much of an argument about not going with the others. Not that she expected any excitement whilst at the base. She was just about to choose herself a snack when the base alarm system went off.

Anna was at it again. "Goddammit you miserable pile of mucus!!!" It was one of her better moods again as she was shouting out people left on the base. "I told you to get the Secondary EPS conduits cleaned, ans what do you assholes do. You sit around like I'm your mom. Sonofabitch. I'm the only one who keeps the systems on this base working and you freeloaders can't do any..." The alarm went off. "Well son of a bitch, and here I thought this day was going to be a dull piece of shit." Anna walked over and opened a crate. Pulling out a Dominion War era repeating phaser rifle with marks on it and an affectionate name on it called 'Bessi' And right when the boarders beamed aboard, they were met with a hail of automatic phaser fire from the athletic former marine.

"C'mon you assholes. You come here to fuck with Anna Hendrix. Mess with Anna. you get dead. C'mon you miserable shits!!!" Anna started cussing them out as she layed down automatic fire. The boarders soon got their act together and fired back, to which Anna took cover.

Kara might not have been used to fire fights, but there was one thing she’d been learning to use both for Erzi’s future as well as her own defence. Reaching inside one of the Sickbay storage units she pulled out a bat’leth giving it a look over before heading for Mattias’ room.

The Marine was already struggling to his feet. He had to get to his blasters. Hell, he'd take his ka-bar and brass knuckles right now. As he was grabing his crutches, someone beamed in and grabbed his left shoulder roughly. Using everything he had, Mattias spun his left arm forward, up and back, putting a tight hold on the offending arm. He then swung his right fist around and throat punched his attacker. There was the sound of soft tissue snapping.

His opponent doubled over, trying desperately to breath. Mattias reached down and, as Kara ran into the room, he twisted the incader's head viciously, several bones crunching could be heard.

Sweat pouring freely on his forehead, Mattias looked up at his baby sister, gave her a wavering grin, as he started to wobble on his legs, his color starting to fade and said, "See? No I'm good to go." He then collapsed onto the biobed, the stiches in his back ripped open and the wounds bleeding freely.

Kara cursed. “Dammit Matt!!” She put her bat’leth down beside her and quickly grabbed a medkit. She didn’t have time to stitch the wound with the station under attack so she grabbed a dermal regenerator and did what she could with it. Just as she got most of the wound closed the door burst open. The attacker rushed her, backhanding her hard knocking her to the floor. Wiping blood away from her lip she reached for the bat’leth, picking it up she took up her learned stance. As the attacker came back for more she swung blocking him, before he knocked her off her feet with a low punch and kick. By the time the battle between them was done she was bruised, and her lip was bleeding well but her attacker lay dead on the floor. She moved back to Mattias and carried on fixing his wound.

Joshua came around the corner a Mark VII phaser rifle in his hand a hand held phaser on his hip. "You and Matt okay Kara or do you need help getting him back to Medbay?"

Kara offered relieved smile. “I could use the help getting him back please Josh” She favoured her ribs as she stood up, she definitely had either bruised or broken ribs. “We need to be careful the wound is only temporarily regenerated until I can get more stitches in there.”

"Say no more. I'll take care of Matt." He replied as he handed Kara his rifle. "You take this and stay in front of me. Shoot anything that isn't one of us." As he got Matt to his feet and looped an massive arm under his shoulders. "What some people do for attention." He quipped as they got ready to get to Medbay.

Kara picked up her blood covered bat’leth, “I’m not leaving this.” She took the rifle as well ready to use it. “Let’s get going”

Outside more autofire was heard as Anna unleashed herself on Cragen's boarders. "C'mon you cunts. Haven't you ever fought a Starfleet Marine Recon before." Anna dispatched some of them and walked in on Kara and Matt. "Christ Almighty, Mattias... Did he rip open all his stitches?

Kara nodded. “Most of them, Yeah. I need time to get new stitches in, can you keep medbay covered?”

"I'll cover you. Get to work on this hopeless wreck." Anna shut the door and locked it. Pointing her repeater at the door.

"Save some for the rest of us Anna. Don't be a hog." Josh teased as he got his rifle back from Kara.

"If you wanna kills these bitches, then kill them. I'm already doing enough work for the people who went off playing pirate with Lily." Anna noted. "C'mon you little bitches out there!!! You want a second helping of pain courtesy of Anna Hendrix? Get over here and we can settle this badass bitch to freaks."

"Wow Anna, I love it when you talk so sexy." Josh teased the former Marine.

Back in medbay Kara was working on a new set of stitches to hold Mattias’ wound together properly. “Let’s try not to split this set” she muttered to herself as she worked carefully, it took time but eventually it was done. Sitting down she got herself a pain relief hypo for her ribs hoping for no more nasty surprises.

"Talk is cheap, Josh. If you want to impress me. Get a higher kill count than me and maybe you can ask me out. Kill Cragen and I'll be impressed enough to go to Risa with you... But you're not touching the goods." Anna enjoyed being feisty with Josh. The way Marines flirted.

Gwynn came in through another door. "Are you two flirting again?" She asked. "Sasha has finished tagging everything with a transporter tag. She is beaming it all into storage. She will start though by taking away their cover." she pointed to the docking bay.

"Wonderful. I've been wanting to use the hidden tunnels and gunports forever. C'mon Josh, ain't no way you're beating my kill count."

He was like an eager puppy, "Lead on Anna and we'll just see about that." He grinned in anticipation.

Anna approached the bulkheads and pushed open a secret passage. "I'm moving fast, Hurry up, Josh or I'll lock you in the head again until you clean it to my standards." Anna carried her repeater through the hidden passageway. "Gwynn. Watch over Captain America over there with the Stitches, or Lilly will get pissy at us again he rips his stitches."

"Yes Mother, lead the way." He loved teasing Anna just to see what sort of reaction it got from her.

"Oh yeah" hissed Gwynn, "Stick me with the Grumpy one. I'll go protect Kara and grumpy, but if he kills me I am so haunting you" she turned and headed towards the medical bay.

Kara was keeping a close eye on Mattias, she was glad to see him start to stir. “Hey...” she stood up gingerly and moved to his side. “You back with me?”

Hearing the weapons fire outside, Mattias's traing kicked in. Unfortunately, so did the pain. "Fuck! I feel like my back was butterflied open!

“It more or less was!” Kara rested her hand on his shoulder. “Stay still, you tore all your stitches I had to do a re-stitching job. I’ll get you some pain relief.” She moved tenderly across to the hypo tray returning with a hypo that she pressed to his neck. “I err... had to kill one of them.”

Kara’s eyes shot to the door glad to see it was just Gwynn entering. “Gwynn, How is it out there?”

"Anna and Josh have things under control, Sasha is beaming stuff into the storage buffer. Everything. Each room will just be rock. Once she has the buffer filled and you have Matt on his feet, we will head for the beam out point and wait for Anna and Joshua. Xavier is already there setting up the forcefields.".

Kara nodded. “Matt isn’t going to be on his feet anytime soon, I’m not willing to risk him tearing those stitches again. I’m going to need help moving him to the beam out point.”

"The bio bed moves, we move it with him on it." Gwynn said as items were beamed into storage.

Anna lead Josh through the hidden passages and reached the first gun holes. "Try not to shoot like a drunk Nausicaan Josh." She opened the port and layed down automatic fire on the intruders, clearing an escape path from medical.

"Watch who your talking to girlie. Your just mad because I'm a better shot than you." He teased as he brought his rifle up and began firing systematically. Taking down one attacker after another.

Anna tapped her comwrist. "Hey Kara... Get that brother of yours ready to move, we almost have a path cleared for you. The rest of you, Keep Cragen's hands off our Kara. He's NOT getting a girl like her."

Kara gave Mattias a smile, “Lets get you out of here” She looked at Gwynn. “Give me a hand please Gwynn.”

Gwynn noded and they moved the bio bed down the hall, Sasha beaming stuff out all around them. They made it to the beam out point and Xavier slammed the shields up. Sasha was also there.

"Just Josh and Anna to go" Sasha said. "I sent a message to Lily and the others. Mattias, Lily said that other shuttle, the one you took from the weapons dealer, the other day, she docked it on the far side of the base, I could beam us there while we wait for the team to come back..."

Mattias looked up and replied. "Do it...can't...leave the...the loot...for those...asshats...!"

Anna covered Kara's retreat to the shuttle with Josh. "C'mon, Josh. Don't you dare die on me. You die..." She showed concern in her voice. "If you die here, I'll drag your ass back from hell, Kill you, and piss on your grave."

Josh was touched by Anna's concern but not enough to stop firing at the attackers or move towards the shuttle. "Don't wait for me Anna. I got this! Get your skinny butt to the shuttle."

Anna shouldered her repeater and entered the shuttle. She waited at the hatch with a hand phaser for Josh to get in.

Aboard the shuttle Kara settled in with Mattias, she had to wonder how the base had been found. “How did they find us? This base is well hidden, they had to have tracked us somehow.”

"Xavier.... Get this shuttle ready to go.!!! Pronto."

"Working on it" Xavier called back. He had beamed everyone in and Sasha had the buffer beside her.

Josh had his hand outstretched as the shuttle began to move. "Hey! Hey! Wait!" He cried out.

Anna reached her hand out and grabbed Josh as she shuttle took off. Pulling him in, that resulted in him loosing his balance and landing on top of Anna. "Josh, Get your ass off me before I crush your balls."

"Oops, sorry Anna. You sure are softer than the deck though." He chuckled as he moved to get off Anna.

In the small rear area of the shuttle Kara hit the comms. “Is everyone okay? Anybody need medical attention?”

"We're fine Kara. Focus on your brother. Maybe give him a brain implant so he uses his head more. Hell, I'll give him a piece of my mind... Maybe find someplace painful for ripping his stitches, hey I know. Kara, Put some Iodine on his wounds. Burning, Stinging, Iodine."

Kara couldn’t help but grin. “I think I’ll pass, but thanks for the idea!” With that she checked on Mattias again before settling down to rest her aching ribs.

One of Bishop's Mercenary's, Sorass, looked at a picture of Flossi and tapped his com. "Master... The Woman you gave me a picture for is not here. They must have taken her somewhere else." When the Watch betrayed Cragen... He wanted Flossi back...

Xavier did another headcount. "Sasha! Blow the airlock on the base. Lets keep em busy! Lily signalled. Jax is on his way back and they are not far behind."

Sasha gave a devilish grin, "Gladly!" It took her a few seconds but she was soon able to access the bases computer blowing the airlock wide open. "That should keep them busy for awhile."

Xavier called back "Getting us clear."

As he spoke he disengaged the clamps and they floated free from the asteroid.
