Kate entered the Ship's medical suite suddenly. "Kara!!!!!"

Kara had been restocking the medbay when she heard Kate’s call. Walking out to her she could feel something was wrong. “What’s wrong Kate?”

"It hurts..." Kate noted. "I'm in withdrawal from his drugs, and It feel like I'm freezing and burning up at the same time."

Kate stumbled onto the biobed. "Ascendants... I need something." She began to sweat hard.

Kara grabbed some pain relief but wasn’t sure what else to give. “I’ll give you this pain relief, I know it’s not much but without knowing what exactly Cragen’s drug is made up of I daren’t give you anything else!”

Kate spoke. "We have three options... All of them horrible."

Kara gave Kate an uncertain look. “What do you suggest?”

"First, we do it the quick and hard way. You keep me here until the withdrawal subsides... and try to treat the symptoms... But I cannot be incapacitated for a week. I have to continue the research." Kate noted. "But this is going to be the hardest thing you'll ever have to watch. I'd rather regain my honor as an Alindari and never be enslaved to a drug again."

Kara nodded. “I can carry on with the research if you can’t. What’s our other option?”

"Or you can give me a dose of the drugs." Kate noted. "And step me down each day through sequential addiction treatment. Less withdrawal pain, but understand. Puttting the serum into me, I might as well be going through Pon Farr. Given enough time, I can control it with meditation, and my emotional control, but that stuff made Flossi.

"The third option is we attempt to cure and remove the nanites and the drugs. I have a few theories on boosting the ph of my blood so that the Nanites power cells corrode faster. but I haven't experimented with this idea yet." Kate mentioned.

Kara sighed. “We can’t take your third option if you’re not thinking straight and rolling with pain. I suggest we take option two, it’s the lesser of the evils... as much as I hate giving you more drugs.”

"We go with the second. But I need to be put in my room and strapped down before you give it to me.. Allow no men inside for the next eight hours. Not even yourself. Make no suggestions to me. I'm going to climax several times..." Kate noted. "This stuff was made to make Sluts, I cannot be allowed to indulge." Kate mentioned.

Kara nodded. “Understood, I suggest we put a quarantine forcefield around your quarters to stop anyone entering and you from leaving.”

"Now I just need someone to keep people out for a good four to six hours." Kate noted as she gestured towards her room.

Nodding Kara walked with Kate as they made their way to her room.

"Four to six hours for what?" Mattias asked, poking his gead out of a side room. He hadn't heard the rest of the conversation, but could see that Kate and his sister was concerned about something. "Anything I can help with?"

Kara offered Mattias a warm smile. “Not this time big brother. This is something Kate has to do alone.”

Concern crossed his features. "What's the matter?"

Kara looked at Kate, it wasn’t her place to say what was wrong. This was Kate’s problem and hers to share if she wanted to.

"Ascendants give me strength.. If I can endure... I can find a way to fix this for Josie.. So she doesn't have to endure this."

“You’re absolutely sure you want to do this?” Kara looked at Kate.

Malakai came upon the trio, "You look like your up to no good. What's going on?"

"I'm going into withdrawal from Cragen's Drugs. I need entry to my room prohibited, and myself locked in there." Kate mentioned. "For the next six to eight hours.. I need to be given a decreasing quantity of that liquid in those vials we recovered or..." Kate noted. "It will be twenty-four hours of agony. The only way we can fix this is by decreasing the dose every seven days until I can handle the withdrawal."

Malakai listened as Kate explained the situation. "Will you need to be locked in your room every seven days until you've kicked your dependency on the drugs. ? We can post someone outside your door, Mattias, me, Josh or Anna can handle it."

"Yes. Every seven days." Kate noted. "And please don't let Lily in there. She doesn't need to see me like this."

Kate entered her room and laid on the bed. "Leave me some food and drink

"Okay on the food and drink and we'll do our best with Lily. She can be very hard headed when she wants to be. Especially since your a friend of hers." Malakai pointed out.

“Anything that needs bringing into you, once of us women will bring.” Kara smiled. “Less temptation that way. As for you...” she looked to Malakai you’d better be ready for this, because what Kate feels I’m going to sense, and you know what that means.”

"I do. I can handle it and I'll be right beside you to help you any way I can Kara. We're in this together." Malakai told her.

"The problem with that, Kara, is my preference is both women and men." Arri mentioned. "Minimal contact."

Kara nodded. “Right, in that case I’m ready when you are Kate.”

Kate nodded

Kate's eyes dilated immediately. She began to moan in the bed. "Get.... out. Ahhhhhh!!!!."

Leaving Kate alone Kara shut the door behind her, looking to her husband. “Take me home Malakai.”

Nodding, "Of course Kara." Malakai put an arm around her and together they moved down the corridor to their cabin.

As the two of them left, Mattias decided to pull first guard shift, outside Kate's room. There, he waited, until he wasn't needed any longer.

A voice came from their cabin door way. "Whatcha doing?" Lily stood there, still dressed for the day, but frowning at her lover.

Mattias smiled out of habit, hearing her voice. Then he remembered that Kate had asked For Phee to not be allowed inside. "Umm...special mission for Kate. Doing her a favor and guarding her, so no one can go inside today."

She crossed her arms. "And how long is that going to take?"

"Several hours Pho..... er Lily." Malakai answered from down the hall. "Sorry but no visitors.... for today."

She narrowed her silver blue eyes at them both, her temper, often a slow boil was rising. "What is going on?" She asked

"Going on? Nothing is going on, just honoring a request Kate made." Malakai answered which told Lily precisely nothing.

Mattias spoke in fluent Erisian. He wouldn't lie to the woman he loved. "“Amin Cel, Saesa ar- estel in ammen, Kate, na bren Aegis, nesh inti a nesh. Kwentra lle i'narn sina si aniq lor nae kar desha.”

Lily's eyes narrowed even further.

Malakai's eyes shifted between Mattias and Lily waiting to see her reaction. "I'll be back to relieve you. No one in." He stressed as he headed to Kara and their cabin.

"Since when do you listen to him?" Lily asked her tone cool.

"I heard that!" Malakai's voice came from down the corridor. "And because I'm the XO of this ship!" He added.

Sasha came around the corner, “What’s with all the shouting? Lovers quarrel?”

"Not yet" Came Lily's reply, her silver blue eyes still locked on Mattias. "But there might be if I am not told what the hell is going on."

Sasha looked to Mattias and the door he stood in front of questioning.

The Coms panel activated on the door. "What... is going on... out there." Kate asked, maintaining her mental discipline."

"Kate, what is going on?" Lily said pressing the comm.

"Lily, I'm in withdrawal from Cragen's drugs. And in order not to be in excruciating pain... I have to take a small, decreasing, dose of it every seven days. I need this out of me, and the only way to do it is Addiction Recovery Therapy." Kate noted through the intercom. "And to control myself in the mean time, I need this meditation."

"And you could not have just told me that?" Lily asked looking at Mattias.

Mattias gave her an apologetic look. It hadn't been his place to tell her, afterall. He was just doing what he could to help a friend and shipmate.

She narrowed her eyes at him then turned back into their cabin and the door shut.

Mattias cloased his eyes and groaned. "I'm so screwed," he muttered to himself.

"Sorry Lilly." Kate stated over the rooms com. "I didn't want you to see me... Like this..... Believe me... If I see anyone enter here.. It will be bad."

Sasha watched Lily go and turned back to Mattias, patting his shoulder she said. "She'll come around." Then she addressed Kate through the comm, "Kate is there anything I can get you or do?"

Kate looked at the painting if Josie in her room. "I'm fine Sasha. Just don't tempt me."

Sasha frowned, then addressing Mattias she said. "I'll be in my room if you need anything."

Mattias gave her a soft grin. "Thanks, Sasha."
