Gary led Baeryn and Gregor through the corridors until they finally reached Captain Carrington's Ready Room. Stopping outside, Gary turned to Gregor. "If Captain Carrington asks you a question answer it to the best of your ability but don't add or seek to embellish your answer. I imagine most of her questions will be directed at me and Baeryn."

Gregor was quietly concerned at Gary's sudden change in demeanor. "Should I be worried, Gary? Will your captain refuse to honor what you have promised and return my people and me back to the planet?" He stopped from asking, or worse, returning them all into the waiting execution ovens of Greens.

"No, she can't, this was a diplomatic call and I'm the Chief Diplomat." Gary reassured Gregor. I'm just saying don't lie."

Nodding, feeling some relief, Gregor replied. "I never lie, Gary. There is no honor in it. I will answer whatever questions your captain poses me. However, I will follow your suggestion and try not to add more than the answer."

"Very good." Gary replied as he pressed the chime on the Captain's door.

Baeryn could feel Gregors concern and wished she could do something to ease it. She gave him an encouraging smile before turning to the door.

"Come" Came the call from the ready room. Yasmine was reading numerous reports from away teams.

Hearing the command to come in, Gary entered first followed by Gregor and Baeryn. "I apologize for the interruption Captain however I'd like you to meet Gregor. He's the leader of the Outkasts that is the underground society on planet we just took a shuttle down to. You should also know captain that Gregor asked for and I granted asylum for himself and his people, who are now in cargo bay one."

Gregor stepped forward, remembering the simple fact that, while this woman was certainly more powerful than him, at their core, they were both leaders. "Captain, thank you for the safety of your ship for my people. It is a debt I will never be able to repay."

Yasmine assessed the information given, knew Taylor was well within his rights. "You and your people are most welcome here Gregor." She said standing. "How many people Commander?" she asked curiously.

"A little under two thousand Captain. Gregor's people are in the process of being examined by the medical staff so we can better treat any special needs they may have." Gary replied crisply.

"Good. I am sure Doctor Sthilg and his team will be more than capable. And Operations will be getting them clothing and food correct?"

"Yes. You are correct Captain." Gary replied to the CO. grateful she was so accepting to the news he had just given her. He stood waiting to see if she had any other questions or comments.

Baeryn tried to hide the surprise from her expression. She hadn't thought the news of bringing aboard so many refugees behind Greens back would go over so well with the Captain, she was sure it would complicate things.

"Good, then I leave it in your capable hands, Commander, Lieutenant. Make sure our guests are well taken care of." Carrington replied.

Gregor watched the exchange between the three officers. When he could see there was respect for rank and position,he could feel an underlying current of resentment, especially between Gary and the Captain.

The hybrid nodded, "I will have my team see to their needs immediately. Thank you Captain." The tension Baeryn felt lessened as she waited to be dismissed.

Gary looked to Carrington, "Thank you for your understanding in this matter." He said extending an olive branch to her. "Lt. Whavi and will see that they are examined, their needs met. We'll even get temporary quarters set up for them." Gary added.

"Good. Mr Gregor, I will send my recommendation to the federation council that your people be granted immediate asylum." Carrington said. "I believe it will correlate with Commander Taylor's own report."

"I'm sure both reports will support each other in the views that Mr. Gregor's people both require and deserve assistance and asylum." Gary answered crisply. "I see no reason why the petition would be denied."

Gregor was feeling relief for the first time in a very long time. "Thank you, all of you. If it takes me the rest of my life, I will repay this debt." He looked over at Carrington and added. "Captain, a word of advice? Don't trust Green. He will smile in your face, shake your hand like a friend with one hand, while driving a dagger into your heart with the other, all the while staring into yoyr eyes, watching the life leave you. He is a monster and must be dealt with as such. Be careful."
