Location: Gorn Hospital.
801 words - 1.6 OF Standard Post Measure

Having helped out with the watcher situation the small robot beamed back into the quarantine room of the abandoned hospital which was now coming back to life.

" Doctor Taylor how may I be of assistance? " The robot inquired.

The main question running through Myne's head at the moment had to be why had she not remained aboard the ship. Going along with her impulses and attempts clearly had lead her down a strange path. Everything since arriving to this hospital had been strange to say the least. She remained quiet in a corner of the room as she watched the curious robot.

Dr. Taylor left the room where she had the Ferengi Woman and then locked it. "Sergeant, Marines, a moment please."

Leilani looked towards Katherine. “Yes Doctor?”

Katherine spoke. "Under no circumstances is this woman to leave ths room." She noted. "She is suffering from extreme dementia.. But even if she wasn't I wouldn't let her out of this room. She has much to answer for, though I doubt very much she will see a day in court."

Leilani nodded. “Well it’s not like I’m going anywhere anyway. She won’t get out.”

Snow had gotten to work and had begun analysing the tissue samples from the collected local wildlife. " Very strange. No sign of the virus in any of their systems," he said looking to the cat and crab DNA. Jutting over to the gorn mummy sample his confusion rose. " Yet it's traces are clearly visible in the gorn remains."

"Just Gorn?" Kate mentioned. "This is a very specific, very disturbing pattern.. Snow... mind if I explore a hypothesis?" Katherine mentioned.

The robot bleeped his approval to go ahead.

"What do you do when you want a population off a world?" Kate mentioned. "What gets a population off-world fast... without valuables per say." Kate turned her head towards the Ferengi. "Yes.... Entirely feasible. Mr. Snow.. My friend. We need to perform a Genetic Forensic Analysis on every protein sequence of this virus.. This reminds me of something I'd expect from James Green."

" An interesting theory Doctor Taylor, but if it was meant to kill the gorn why hasn't whoever created it moved in." The small robot beeped.

"Because something dealt with the people that did move in." Katherine mentioned. "And I don't think it was pleased to hear that this place was being plundered by the Ferengi." Katherine mentioned. "Either the Ferengi that were here created it.. or they bought it from someone else."

" If the Ferengi created it why would that wait nearly one hundred and fifty years before arriving to loot the place?" The robot added just as two marines arrived with a body of one of the ferngi. " We should see if they were exposed to the virus." Snow said to Katherine.

" Hum" the Exocom said as he floated over to the ferngi woman. Drawing a sample of blood he began examining it. After some minutes he buzzed as he began projecting two holo images. One was of the original virus and the second was a heavily mutated version. " She's an asymptomatic carrier, but look. " He peeped excitedly. " It's had to mutate heavily to adapt to the ferengi biology. It may have lost the ability to infect other lifeforms."

Katherine thought a moment. "Right now, Mr. Snow... I'm very certain we're going to find out the answers to these questions soon. But the Ferengi? The way she talks reminds me of President Green's cronies." She noted. "The same cowards who whisper threats to you over a phonecall."

" A sadly common trait among her people. You'd think being treated like a second class citizen would have enlightened her more." Snow said as he floated over to the equipment.

"It's not uncommon for the oppressed to become the oppressor either," Tate remarked quietly. It was a lot to absorb and as usual, they still seemed to have more questions than they had answers.

" Can you replicate me some of the native feline's tissue and send it to the test chamber?" He asked.

Katherine spoke. "Of course, the more answers we have here, the better."

The robot took the tissue and began his work. After half an hour he returned and began bleeping happily. " The virus sample is dead. It can't adapt to the native tissue." he said happily.

Katie put down a PADD. "I suppose this is all we can learn right now... Nothing substantial that proves anything. Only that there was a virus that effected Gorn." She noted. "Not the smoking gun we think it is, but it is suspicious."

" Gorn, humans, Vulcans and Andorian's. " The exocom corrected her politely as he ran through the Capetown's crew. I hope Doctor Sthilg and his team will be done so I'm sure he can figure this out."
