ON:
After completing his tour with the colonel, Colton decided to head to his cabin and up pack and unwind from the events of the last few days. as he approached the door and heard a familiar pneumatic hiss as it opened. He step in side put down his gear and took a moment to look around. The window looked out his view partially obscured by earth space dock but it was a nice view of stars and space. he unpacked his gear including his sniper rifle and his pet project that he have to talk about with the engineering staff soon.
he took off his BDU jacket, and boots walked over to the replicator and replicated a spittoon for himself took over to a chair and pulled a can of snuff out of the back left pocket of his BDU pants packed vigorously for a few seconds before opening it putting a large pinch between hid lower lip and gumbs before sitting down in the chair. He spit a stream of tobacco juice into the spittoon with the familiar sound of liquid hitting a metal. He did it every few minutes for the next half hour as he reviewed the latest Starfleet Marine corps sniper field manual. He finished up the manul took the dip and placed in the Spitoon, took a long sonic shower changed into a t-shirt and boxer shorts placed a phaser under his pillow, and got into bed. "computer, decrease lights by 85%." he said the computer chirped and response and dimed the lights the room was now dark with only enough illumination that he could see to move around the room with tripping on anything. and he drifted off to sleep.
=========appoximatly 2 hours latter============
He suddenly felt hot and opened his eyes to a horrifying sight, Terrain empire flags on building around, and screams of hundreds if not thousands of people, a fire burned around him. As looked down he saw a crowd of people running for a gate and suddenly an alarm started blaring and a marine captain was yelling, "Damed Klingons hit the prison camp from low orbit, stop the prisoners before the escape!"
Colton was horrified and confused felt his rifle in front of him he looked around trying to make sense of it. the marine captain yelled "What the hell are ya waiting for Renth to start shooting the bastards, we can't let any escape, you live for this shit now shoot."
he instantly pulled his rifle into position took aim, and after doing some quick math in his head, including estimated distance, the average height of the targets, wind, and angle different from point of aim to point impact, he made the appropriate adjustments to his scope. As he looked down to scope he saw a man carrying a small boy he put the cross right on the head and slowed pulled the trigger, the distinctive crack of the Tr-116B sniper ring out, and he saw a cloud of pink appear from behind the man head and he dropped to the ground dead, the boy he had been carrying tugged at his sleeve trying to get the man to move and line his shot on the boy, he again slow squeezed the trigger and hear the crack and felt sick to his stomach, he bolted straight up in a cold sweat he was in the cabin again. His heart was racing and he breathing heavily, he got out of bed and went to the replicator and got himself a glass of bourbon, and slowly drank it sitting on the edge of his bed his hand almost shaking. "Fuck, never should have never volunteered for that OP, Dam Star Intelligence, and Damn Captain Hogan," he said to himself, and place the glass on the night next to the bed and lay down again the try and get some sleep. But he god very latter a few hours he went through similar incident each more gut wrench than the last. Finally around 0400 he passed out from exhaustion and was able to get some sleep.

Oh dear, what a horrible nightmare. Yuck. With nightmares like that you won't need to be scared of the boogey man. The addition of the metal spitoon was a charming touch. I can hear the ring of the bell every time Colton fires off a splat of tobacky. Like the bell at the County Fair - except no prize. You know? The thing you whack with the hammer and try and ring the bell at the top? It sounds like he's had an interesting past. I do appreciate that Colton does not sing in the sonic shower.
