MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Engineering Office
Timeline: Two days after the wedding
590 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure
Victor was sitting down in his office reminiscing about the wedding. Lt Grades Napoleon Bond and Joral Bin walked in with their latest project which was to check in the latest tricorders of all kinds to make sure the tricorders were up to Elysium standards which was way above Starfleet average.
“Lieutenant,” Napoleon says as he laid down fifteen medical tricorders. “Seven of them passed Elysium standards, two passed Starfleet and six failed.”
“Not like this high of a number of failures,” Victor sighed. “Do you have who inspected them before they arrived here.”
“I do,” Joral replied. “The names were Ensign Luis Lara and Ensign Avril Estaban. They came from Starbase Six.”
“What about the ones that passed,” Victor asked.
“Lieutenants Lucas Bravo and Ko Troy on Starbase Six Sir,” Joral replied earnestly.
Victor smiled. “I knew Ko Troy in the other universe on the Defiant.” He paused for a moment. “This one does not know me. I will fill out my report and contact Starbase Six. Who is the one in charge there?”
“Lieutenant Troy,” Napoleon answered next.
“You mean Lieutenant Ko,” Victor corrected Napoleon. “He is a Bajoran”.
“Yes,” Napoleon agreeing to his faux pas.
“Bring the ones that passed our inspection to Medical,” Victor ordered, “I will get with Tonya about sending the ones that did not passed inspection. Dismissed.”
After they left, Victor typed up his report. He sent the report to the First Officer, Medical and Logistics.
Hour later, Tonya walked in. “Victor. I will communicate with Lieutenant Ko. Ko can be a real pistol some times.”
Victor was about to correct but decided to let Tonya do the contacting.
Tonya went to Alice’s terminal as she composed the message. She sent it ten minutes later. Afterwards, she turned to Victor asking, “So you will still take me on my proposal where we will elope?”
Victor scratched his head a bit. “Not elope if your Dad and Mom is there but if you want to call it elopement, the answer is yes.”
Tonya shook her gorgeous head. “Victor, you and I have never had a major argument. You know you get a vote.”
“I vote to elopement because I really do not want the fanfare of the wedding if you do not want it,” he answered agreeably.
Tonya just kept quiet and counted her blessings. Her last fiancé argued too much. At that moment, Victor’s screen had the face of Lieutenant Ko Troy. Tonya spoke first. “Lieutenant Ko. I assume you are calling about the defective tricorders.”
“I am,” Ko said with a snarl. “Hope you are expecting us to fix them. You fix them. Do your job.”
Victor spoke. “Lieutenant Ko. First, you need to get with the two Ensigns and find out why they did not do their job. Second ….”
“Dude,” Ko said out of character, “I do not tell you how to do your job, so do not tell me how to do mine.”
“Lieutenant!,” Victor said firmly. “”In fact you just said to Tonya how she should…”
Ko broke off transmission before Victor could said another word.
“Now what?” Tonya asked.
“I will make a formal complaint,” Victor said, “Meanwhile, we will fix them with help of the medical officers. Something must be bothering Lieutenant Ko.”
Tonya sighed. “Be nice in your report. Something might be bothering him.”
“Understood,” Victor says giving Tonya a smile as her eyes melt away his stress. “I will see you tonight.”
Tonya being professional nodded with a slight wink, “See you tonight.”

See? Now there it is. I knew that some of the tricorders and possibly some of the marine tactical tricorders are wonky (technical term). I'd love to do a JP and get to the bottom of this. :)
