As the panel flew off, Lia spotted Gary. Then she looked around and saw the damage along with the injuries. "I would say permission to enter the bridge, but looking at this mess. What can I do to help? Plus do you know what the hell happened?"
Gary turned and looked at Lia, "Last question first. Yes, we encountered a quantum filament while at warp and Miraj engaged the QSD to avoid it and voila, here we are wherever that is. As for helping, get with Samaire and see if you can get any power to any other console, she's got Ops up again.
Heading for her own Security console, Lia picked up a tricorder. Running it over the system, showed zero. *Ok, so what to do next?* she thought. "Lt. You want to run through just what you've tried so far?" Lia looked at Samaire as she spoke, "Have you attempted a back up power source?"
"I have culled parts from different consoles and just got Ops powered up" Samaire replied. "I figured we could do without security. But Jason and I left the Engineering and Tactical and Comms consoles. We should be able to use this console to power one and then one more via that console. I would suggest we start with Engineering then comms then Tactical. "
"No Security? Then why retain Tactical?" Lia again looked around the bridge, "Engineering I can get, as with Comms. But what about internal sensors? Wouldn't they be a better bet than Tactical?" Moving across to another console Lia ran another tricorder reading, still zero. "We have a very wounded bird here, perhaps far more wounded than we can guess right now. I'd work on getting internal sensors working first, so we can at least find out who's still around and who's not. Do you agree Lt.?"
Samaire narrowed her eyes at the chief of security. The last thing she bloody well needed was someone coming in after the bloody fact and second guessing things. "Tactical was left because it has links to external sensors which we need to assist with spatial orientation as well as seeing how bad the external damage is. Comms has internal seanors as well and as you were not here Commander I didn’t think you would mind that I had Jason cannibalise your consoles so I could get internal systems up and running, for while yes securityhas internal sensors, Operations has more accessibility. My bad." She turned back to the console she was working on. She didn't care for the commanders tone and attitude right now. She had work to do.
Leilani had been checking on the wounded. “I think I have to agree with Commander Taylor, we need to know just how badly the ship is damaged internally as well as externally. It’ll also help locate any trapped crew.”
Gary spoke again. "See if you can get the internal sensors back online." As he spoke, he tapped one of the communicators that had arrived from the hanger bay. -^=Taylor to shuttlecraft Leathe, be ready to receive Commodore Lalor and Senior Chief De La Rosa as they need medical attention. Sergeant Charles will be accompanying them and give any medical information you need.=^=
-^' Understood Captain. We will transport on your command.=^= Came the reply.
Gary moved back to the center seat where Phoenix sat, her moving as she tried to listen to the conversations around her. He touched her arm softly. "It's me. You and Fernando are going to be transported to the medica shuttle Lethe. Leilani will accompany you to give any medical information that may be needed."
Phoenix nodded but before she could reply Lia spoke.
Lia overheard her husband and moved to stand beside him, "That's not a sight you want to see, but does that communicator let you know who else is about?" She pointed at Phoenix as she spoke, then to the communicator in Gary's hand.
Phoenix pushed herself to her feet, her broken arm close to her chest. "I am unable to see Commander, not deaf." Her head turned in the direction of Gary's voice. "Beam us out when ready Captain." She so wanted to ask him to find her family but she didn't dare. "Samaire?"
"Yes Commodore?"
"If you need more parts, you should look at the holographic matrix and Avalons systems. At least the ones that allows for her to virtually appear.'
Samaire nodded. "Got it" and she headed to the centre of the bridge. "Come on Jason" she said to the helmsman. "Time to do surgery on our favourite hologram."
Before Gary could reply, Phoenix stood up and answered Lia, cradling her broken arm close to her chest. "It will just be one second Commodore. Leilani." He called to the medic, "You and Fernando come over here so you two and the Commodore can be beamed to the medical shuttle."
“Yes Sir” Leilani nodded and helped Fernando move over to where Phoenix was standing.
Fernando leaned on Leilani for support as the pair slowly made to where the Commodore was standing. When they arrived. Gary spoke. "Beaming you the Lethe. You'll get the medical help you need." He turned to Phoenix, his friend and commanding officer. "I'll see you back here before you know it." Then he lowered his voice and whispered. "I'll look for Matt and Miran and get word to you." As he gently squeezed her uninjured hand.
Phoenix nodded. "Thank you."
“Don’t worry Sir, I’ll make sure everyone is alright.” Leilani smiled warmly. She was hoping once she reached medical she would find out where George and Hendor were.
Gary nodded, "I know you will Leilani." A pause and then he added, "I hope your family is safe."
Leilani nodded. “So do I Sir, so do I.”
"Right with you Samaire. Time to do a little surgery. Let's get to it." Jason replied. "I just hope Avalon doesn't hold a grudge with what were about to do to her."
"I'll explain it to her" Samaire commented as she pried up the first panel. She looked down and smiled. "Oh for power conduits from the 2200's. I could use them to link all consoles to this power supply." She muttered as she pried up the next panel. "We have gel packs, and power chips."
Lia wandered over to the far side of the bridge, she looked down at the blank screen and thumped it hard. Just for a moment a flicker crossed the screen, then it went blank again. She turned and looked at what had once been the bridge, *We were bloody lucky* she thought.
The communicator chirped to life. "Rin to bridge. How are things going up there? What can I do for you?"
On hearing the communicator, Lia responded. "Taylor to Rin, nice to hear you. How many crew have you got down there? And if you've got a spare sensor or two, we could sure use them."
"For bridge crew it's Miraj, myself, and a tactical officer, although we have no tactical working. I have a couple Ops crewmen working on sensors, but it's slow going. I've been plugging into Avalon to access her limited current awareness of the interior of the ship, and I have people reporting in information as they have it. Miraj is getting information from the shuttles, which still have their sensors. Sir, if I may ask, why are you still on the bridge? Miraj informed me helm is completely offline up there."
"That is correct Rin. Samaire and Jason are currently trying to get sensors online. Lia is up here as well. Preparing to beam the Commodore and Fernando to the medical shuttle. Leilani is going to accompany them." Gary paused, I'm still on the bridge as it is where I am supposed to be. " Gary replied "I know Rin, not the best of reasons."
Rin swallowed a sigh, frustrated in her inability to communicate clearly. Everyone was tired. "I mean, sir, have you considered commanding the ship via the battle bridge? We have an operational helm, and it may be just as likely to get sensors running from here as from main bridge. We could transport you all here. However, if you find it best to continue from the main bridge, I would suggest investigating what sorts of sensor equipment might have survived in the intelligence blister, if you haven't already."
"A valid point Rin and one, I may consider later." Gary answered. "I first want to get the Commodore and Fernando to medical for treatment. I will pass your suggestion regarding the sensor equipment in the Intelligence blister to Lia and the others."
Phoenix let Leilani move her to beside Fernando. "Shall we go?"She asked the Medic "It will allow them to get moving on things" she added.
"Taylor to shuttlecraft Lethe, transport Commodore Lalor, Chief De La Rosa and Sgt. Charles to your location."
[Acknowledged.] then the transporter beam appeared and the three were beamed away.
=/\="Imik to the Bridge, are you receiving my transmissions? Do you wish a status report from outside the vessel?" Imik sat waiting for a reply, she had heard the chatter now being picked up by her comms.
Tag Rin, anyone.
On the main bridge, Gary shared a look with Lia and the others at hearing Imik's voice come through the com. =^= Captain Taylor to Imik, nice to hear your voice Legate. We are receiving your transmission and yes a status report will be appreciated. =^=
=/\="Sinkahue Taylor, I am glad you are well. Our vessel has suffered several severe cracks in the main hull, structural integrity has been compromised greatly. I would surmise that we have suffered many losses in crew members."=/\= Imik continued to survey the ship, noting more damage and floating debris and bodies.
Gary listened to Imik's report in stoic silence. Her report painted a grim, bleak picture. But he refused to be swayed by it. He had faith in the crew. He replied =^= Taylor to Imik. Understand ship has extensive damage and the loss of many crew members. Continue your inspection of ship. We need as complete a picture as possible in regard to damage to ship.=^=
As her fighter banked over the Elysium, Imik noted something unusual. =/\= "Imik to Taylor, it appears we are not alone here. I am picking up a derelict vessel off our starboard bow, there are no lifesigns arising from it."=/\=
=^= Another ship? Interesting. We can investigate it later. For now, we need to take of ourselves and our ship. For if we don't, we'll end out like the ship you just discovered Imik.=^=
=/\="imik to Taylor, I agree. Bur the thought of spare parts or other needs, do come to mind."=/\= She returned her fighter to its original course and continued to circle the Elysium.
=^= Taylor to Imik. A discussion for another time. First things first and that is the Elysium and its crew and affecting repairs on the ship and tending to the injured.=^=
Lia now crossed to her husband, "Smart cookie, lets get this ship back into some semblance order shall we?"
Gary nodded. "I have my moments." He quipped. Then grew serious. "Thanks Lia. Yes, let's start getting this ship back into some sort of working order.
"Sir" Samaire said from where she and Jason were pulling things apart. "if the ship is as bad as she says, we need to find a place for the crew. We will be unable to repair and house injured if it is as bad as she says. I would suggest you ask the fighters to scan around. We need resources as the pilot suggests but we also need safe harbour."
Gary considered what Samaire said. "A good point Samaire however we don't know where the rest of the pilots are or if they or their birds are able to fly.
However, the only way to find out is to ask." He opened his com. "This is Captain Taylor to all pilots, asking for all available pilots to man their fighters and search for a place we can evac at least some of the crew to temporarily while we work on repairing the ship. We can also use any personal with shuttle pilot experience to head to Shuttle Bay one." Gary continued, "Attention all crew we have found an inhabitable planet, it is a P-class, so it will be cold, very cold but with a breathable atmosphere. It will take us in the vicinity of twelve hours to reach it. When we arrive, we will send down teams to set up a base camp before we start evacing crew to the surface. We have supplies and building materials in the cargo bay to help in building shelters."
He paused and spoke again "Taylor to transporter personnel, please beam Lt. Danvers and Mcbride to shuttle bay one to assist in piloting shuttles. Then beam Commander Taylor and me to the Battle bridge."
[Acknowledged] Came the reply.
