Mission: Season 6: Episode 4: Memory Lane
Location: Alicia & Savar's quarters
1568 words - 3.1 OF Standard Post Measure

Savar was decorating the family Christmas tree which was unusual as Vulcans didn't have Christmas trees. But for Alicia and the children he happily partook in what had become a family tradition and one he had grown to enjoy and treasure. He had put most of the bulbs up, but he wouldn't put the decorations he and Alicia had acquired until she was here, and they could do it together. Tux proved to be an excellent sitter as the Selat kept the children away from the tree by gently but firmly nudging them away.

Alicia stepped through the doors smiling as she saw Savar busy with the Christmas tree. It was N’Vea’s first Christmas, and Soral’s first as part of their family which made it all the more special. “Good evening Imzadi” She kissed Savar on the cheek, then kissed Connor and N’Vea in turn pausing to pet Tux as well. “Where is Soral? Is he not interested in helping you?”

Savar returned Alicia's kiss. "Good evening, Alicia. Soral was helping before he went to his room. I believe he is preparing ornaments of his own plus he wanted to wait until you arrived to finish decorating the tree."

Alicia nodded. “That’s fine, I know it’s not something Vulcan’s normally do. If he’s unwilling or uncomfortable doing so I don’t mind.” She offered an understanding smile. “It’s going to be a difficult Christmas for all the children who lost parents this year.”

"I do not believe he is either Alicia. I believe he is comfortable with being with others, having a family to share the holidays with." Savar answered and continued. "Indeed, it will be Alicia. I do not know if there will be a ship wide Christmas party Alicia but if there is. Then those children should be made to feel all the more special and loved."

Alicia nodded. “You are a wonderful man Imzadi” she walked over and kissed him lovingly. “We are a lucky family to have you. I’ll just go get changed and we can have fun finishing the decorations.” With that she headed for the bedroom.

Savar returned Alicia's kiss with equal passion. It is we who are the lucky ones Alicia, to have your love and compassion on a daily basis is a true blessing. I will await your return."

It wasn’t long before Alicia returned dressed in more comfortable off duty clothes, she tapped on Soral’s bedroom door before speaking. “Soral sweetheart, would you like to come and join us?”

" I will join you and Savar shortly." Soral replied through the door.

“Alright Soral.” With that she headed over to Savar. “I’m not being too overbearing am I? I’m not used to how Vulcan parents raise their children. I just do what I know to do.”

Savar shook his head. "You are not Alicia. What you are is concerned and compassionate. Do not ever apologize or feel the need to explain."

“Thank you Imzadi” Alicia smiled warmly. “Now how’s about we get this box of decorations sorted? I’m looking forward to having all the decorations up in here.”

Savar nodded. "You are most welcome Alicia. Let us proceed with the task at hand and get the decorations where they can be enjoyed bt all."

Alicia nodded and pulled open the box containing the rest of the tree decorations. “Let’s wait for Soral so we can do these together, Let’s make a start on the ceiling decorations. Have we got the antigrav to stand on?”

"An excellent idea Alicia, we can start a new tradition with Soral as part of our family." Savar answered. ""The antigrav is in the corner my love." As he looked at the box and the decoration within. "I believe there are more than there were last year.'' He teased.

“I did add one or two extras but not that many” Alicia grinned as she pulled out the antigrav so she could use it to hang the higher decorations.

Savar nodded, "I believe you added more than one ot two Alicia." Savar teased his wife. It was something most of the crew had never seen or would believe. However, with Alicia, He could relax his rigid emotional control.

Alicia couldn’t help but smile, she loved it when Savar let his emotions shine through. “I think we should buy more! You can never have too many decorations!”

"I am not opposed to more decorations Alicia. Perhaps we can get some with us, the children and Soral in a Christmas setting." Savar proposed.

“That would be nice, but right now we’re nowhere near home to find somewhere to buy any.” Alicia sighed. “Still, we’re going to enjoy Christmas nonetheless!”

"True we cannot buy any decorations but we can make some. We can take images of ourselves and craft some decorations." Savar pointed out.

“That’s a wonderful idea!” Alicia smiled and nodded. “The kids would love making decorations.” She moved across to Savar & kissed him on the cheek. “You are wonderful Imzadi.”

Savar took Alicia in his arms and returned the kiss. "I thank you for that Alicia. I think you are wonderful as well." Then he kissed her, not on the cheek but full on the lips.

Alicia melted into the kiss, she would have let it linger longer but she suddenly remembered they had the company of their children. “Erm..Thank you” She grinned playfully.

Savar looked and saw Connor and N'vea looking up at them in wide eyed innocence. "Um, yes. You are welcome Alicia."

Alicia grinned whispering in Savar’s ear. “Just wait until later...” she stepped back and over to the box of decorations. “Let’s get these up and we can get some festive treats cooked up to enjoy!”

"As the humans say, my breath is baited Alicia. However, for now let us concentrate on decorating the tree and move the festive feasts." Savar answered as he reached into the box and brought forth some holiday ornaments.

“What about Soral?” Alicia looked towards the bedroom, “He said he was coming out to join us. I don’t want him to be disappointed.”

"I am here Alicia." Soral's voice sounded from behind her. I am ready to partake in decorating the tree."

Alicia smiled. “That’s wonderful Soral, please come and have some fun. There’s a box of tree decorations here, and some tinsel as well.”

Soral walked to the box and opened it. He stared at the decorations within. The colorful bulbs as well as the ornaments Alicia and Savar had collected through the years and finally on the tinsel. He held up the tinsel. "What purpose does provide?" He asked, confusion in his voice.

“Ohh you use it for decoration.” Alicia smiled as she took another piece of tinsel and demonstrated what to do with it. “Like that..”

Soral nodded at Alicia's demonstration. "Oh. I see. Thank you, Alicia. If there is some left over, may I decorate my door with it?"

“Take what you want Soral, we can always replicate more if we’re short.” Alicia smiled warmly. “If you want to make any decorations for hanging please feel free.”

"Thank you Alicia. I may do that." Soral replied.

Alicia smiled. “I’d like to learn more about Vulcan culture, if you’d like to help Savar teach me Soral? Being the wife of a Vulcan, I want to be a worthy one. Though I’ve no doubt Savar would say I am anyway.” She smiled at Savar.

"You are not only worthy Alicia, but you are also an exceptional wife. Your compassion, concern and caring along with love for your family all combine to show that. I know many Vulcan females that could learn from you." Savar replied, the pride and love he felt for Alicia was evident.

“Thank you Imzadi” Alicia smiled proudly as she bent down to pick up, and offer Connor a bauble to hang on the tree.

Connor took the bauble and grinned as he showed Savar what he had in his hands. "You are welcome Alicia. I only speak the truth."

Alicia grinned as Connor practically refused to let go of the bauble. “Looks like that’s one less bauble to hang for now.” She sat Connor down and let him play.

Savar nodded at Alicia's statement. "Connor knows what he likes. In this case it is an ornament at least until he finds something else that sparks his interest."

“All part of learning, I’ve learned so much from you since we’ve been together.” Alicia smiled at Savar, “I’m truly blessed to have such an amazing husband and family!”

"Well said Alicia. One is never too old to learn as I have learned from you. It is i who am blessed to have such a woman as you as my wife." Savar replied.

Soral watched the exchange between Alicia and Savar. He could see the love and affection the two had for each other. Savar was Vulcan who followed the path of logic, but he opened his heart to Alicia and let his emotions show. Alicia was Betazoid/Trill and she was warm, compassionate and engaging. She truly loved Savar and her children. It was fascinating to watch and learn from. "Fascinating. Most fascinating." He remarked to himself.
