Phoenix wanted to check in with each of her senior staff to see how they were getting on.

So, she made up a timetable and sent it out to the Senior staff, asking them to present themselves at a set time to her office for a one on one.

11h00 – Chief of Security/Tactical
12h00 – Chief of Medical

Then she set up her office, ruthlessly moving her desk to the far corner of the room and shifted her couches closer to the window as she wanted this to be a relaxed meeting.

The door slid open as the gorn entered carrying a tray with several small pies. " Good morning captain." he said warmly.

Phoenix looked up from her seat on the couch and smiled. "Doctor." She noted the food. "Are you trying to tell me that i need to eat?"

" Good ssstarssship health ssstartsss with a good healthy gut." The gorn said placing the tray down. " Chicken, beef or potatoes?" He enquired.

"Chicken thank you." She waved him to sit. "I hope you are joining me in this?"

The gorn nodded as he placed the tray down and took a chicken pie and handed it to the captain before taking a beef one for himself. "Courtesssy of my and my humble asssssssssistantsss. " he said as he took the seat.

"Hmm and how is medical these days?" Phee asked as she took the pie with a smile. "Everything going ok?"

" Asss well asss can be given the current sssituatttion." Sthilg replied handing the captain a fork as he did so.

Phoenix took the fork. "Do you have any concerns with your team? Is there anyone not coping?"

" A few indavidualsss I'm keeping an eye on, but I'm making sssure everyone'sss doing as well asss can be expected." The gorn said as professsssional as he could.

Phee nodded. "And you? How are you doing?"

" Terrfied. " The gorn replied as calmly as possible as he took a fork full of his pie in his mouth and swallowed. " I haven't been thisss ssscared sssince i ......." he began before stoping. " Sssince i lossst my first wife and daughter. "

Phee reached out and touched his hand with her's. "The nightmares are affecting you as well aren't they?" she asked softly.

" I don't think ssso. My brain chemissstry ssstill ssshowsss nothing. Jusst general worry from being a dad to be i think." the gorn replied.

"You will be a good dad you know" Phoenix said with a smile.

" I hope ssso. If i do sssomething ssstupied make assure to point it out." came the doctor's answer with a grin on his face.

"All parents make mistakes Its those who do not fix them thay are bad parents. " Phoenix said. "I have made plenty of mistakes over the years."

" Don't we all." " came the old gorns reply honestly from his heart

Phoenix smiled. "And your wife will keep you from making too many I am sure."

" I know ssshe will. " Sthilg grinned. True they weren't married yet but no one could deny Deanna was his wife.

"After all she raised one child very well." Phoenix added. "And you will both have help from Alicia and Savar."

" A lot of handsss to help around." a smile spread over the gorn's face at that. " And what about you? How are you holding up?"

"Deja vu for me. I am going ok. I make sure to take time for myself."

" Nothing medical you need me to look over?" he added.

Phoenix shook her head. "No. I am physically well. And am definitely not pregnant or anything like that. Much to Mattias' disappointment."

" Good to know. I'd leave off getting pregnant until were way behind thisss sssector of ssspace." Sthilg chuckled.

"Yeah agreed. Though the twins were an accidental conception, I would not put it past the universe to play tricks on me again."

" I know that feeling. " Sthilg chuckled. " I thought we'd be trying for yearsss and we got twinsss on the near first try."

"It is a lot of fun, twins. If I had not known about them from that pocketverse, I think I would have freaked out a lot more."

" I'm ssure it will be. Though if you don't need me for anything else my friend I have other patients to give a check up." Sthilg said preparing to stand from his chair.

"Thank you for taking the time Doctor" Phoenix smiled.

" Make sure to finisssh your pie." The old lizard said as he stood up picking up the tray with the rest of them and headed for the door.

Phoenix watched him go with a smile. "Have a good day Doc."
