After he finished his studies for the day, Gérard made his way to the shared cabin of Miran and Raye. This fued between the woman he loved and Clary was starting to get serious. He hoped that Miran knew that, whatever happened, he would always be on her side.
When he reached the cabin, he pressed the door chime and waited.
Raye opened the door. "Oh hi, Gérard," the redhead said. "Come in, Miran is studying. "
Gérard gave his friend a grin and a nod. "Thank you," he said as he stepped inside. "How's your first week going?" While he did want to spend time with Miran, he was raised to be polite and a gentleman, so he spoke to Raye first, out of respect for her and their friendship.
"Oh, you know, it's been interesting. Wonderful neighbours and such," Raye drawled and rolled her eyes. "The classes are interesting though."
Gérard chuckled softly. "Yeah, I can imagine that it's not all fun and games, with a certain Cadet nearby." He scowled softly at the thought of Clary and how she had been acting towards Miran and him, especially since they started seeing each other. "I know it's impossible, but, try to ignore her. By reacting to her shit only emboldens her."
"Dont tell me. Tell her" Raye said with a smile. She waved a hand towards her roommate.
Miran was deep in a medical text and had only given a vague wave when she had heard the door open.
Gérard turned and his smile grew brighter. Gently, he reached out to Miran’s mind, Imzadi, please don't let Clary get under your skin. You are so far above her, in all aspects. He sent her an image of his love for her as he stepped closer and gently ran his left hand along her shoulders, squeezing them gently, finding the knots that were there and gently kneading them out.
Miran looked up at him and gave him a small smile. "I swear on my family name she will regret taking me on." she said calmly. "When she least expects it."
Smiling softly and releasing a small sigh, Gérard leaned down and gently kissed Miran's forehead. "Careful now, Imzadi. You are now in Starfleet. You can't go around, settling blood feuds, especially against other Starfleet personnel, without getting into serious trouble."
Miran raised her gaze and her temper was clear as her eyes were pitch black. "My sister may be willing to toe the line. I am not. Clary will learn and if she dies in the learning well that is perfectly fine with me." The Erisian in her was clearly showing.
Gérard could feel the conviction pouring out of Miran's being as she spoke. He let out a breath to center his churning thoughts, then spoke. "Mir, Imzadi....please hear me...as a Starfleet cadet, and one day officer, if you kill her, your future will be void. Your sister won't be able to help you. Think of your family," he paused briefly before adding quietly, "think about us going after her, with the notion of killing her will only end in disaster. If you wish to confront her, there are other ways. Take her to the sparring mats, fight it out, hand to hand. i have no doubt that you will beat her easily. And this way, you can burn through some of your anger towards her."
"My niece beat her easily, I doubt Phoenix or Mattias would let me fight her, because they know I could kick her arse." She was starting to pout.
Moving closer to her, Gérard replied to that. "Well...actually...cadets are always being trained, and hand-to-hand training is very important." He left the next part unspoken, knowing that Miran could see where he was going with it.
She smiled. "I am very good at Hand to hand." she said as her smile went evil.
Gérard chuckled softly as he put his right hand on Miran's left thigh and gently squeezed it. "Now, remember though, just because you two can spar for training....that doesn't mean you will be able to get away with killing her. Even hurting her too badly could get you into trouble, because you are supposed to be able to control yourself in situations like this." He leaned in and gently kissed her cheek, then whispered into her ear, "Though I have no doubt that you could kill her a dozen ways with out thinking about it." He then sat back in the couch.
Sighing Miran gave up on her studies and joined him on the couch.
Raye rolled her eyes and suggested they all go get dinner. They could plan more there.
