Season 6: Episode 6: Conglomerate
Location: Main Medical
Timeline: MD1-MD2 from 16h00 onwards

“Trauma team, three incoming!” one of the nurses shouted. “Thermal laceration, concussion, blunt-force trauma!”
Dr. T’Lina Revek — the senior triage officer on duty — turned from the central console, her Vulcan calm slicing through the chaos. “Lieutenant McBride-Reece first. Place her on biobed two. Commence cortical stabilizer and analgesic protocol.”
---
== Samaire ==
The med-techs eased her onto the biobed. Her left leg was an ugly sight — the cauterized wound ran from just above the knee to the mid-shin, edges blackened and cracked. The bio-scanner beeped wildly.
“Severe dermal and muscle trauma,” Revek intoned. “No haemorrhage, but nerve conduction abnormal. Begin regenerative debridement at setting five-point-three.”
Samaire groaned softly, her voice trembling. “Can’t… feel my foot…”
“You will regain sensation once regeneration progresses,” Revek assured her, placing a hand scanner over the wound. “You are stable. Remain still.”
As the dermal regenerator hummed, the smell of scorched fabric gave way to sterilized ozone. Samaire’s breathing steadied, though tears streaked through the soot on her cheeks.
---
== Cassia ==
Cassia staggered as she tried to steady herself beside the next biobed. Blood streaked from her ear, and her eyes couldn’t quite focus on the doctor’s face.
“Sit,” Revek ordered without looking up. “Auditory trauma and mild concussion.”
A nurse guided Cassia down, applying a neural sensor at her temple.
“I can’t hear properly…” Cassia said, wincing as her voice echoed oddly in her own head.
“You sustained a tympanic membrane rupture,” Revek replied, scanning her ear canal. “We will regenerate the tissue. Please refrain from speaking for several minutes; sound vibrations may worsen vertigo.”
Cassia nodded weakly, gripping the edge of the biobed as nausea washed through her. She looked across at Samaire, who lay pale and trembling, and then to Sapphire’s still form being rushed past her.
“Are they—” she started, but Revek’s quiet tone cut in.
“They are alive, Lieutenant. Focus on remaining conscious.”
---
==Sapphire==
Two medics slid Sapphire’s limp form onto biobed three. Her pulse was weak but steady; there was bruising around her temple, a cut across her cheek, and the left shoulder was visibly dislocated.
“Concussion and possible clavicle fracture,” a medic reported.
“Confirmed,” Revek said, pressing a hypospray against Sapphire’s neck. “Cortical stim, ten milligrams.”
A low hum filled the air as the biobed’s monitor stabilized. A few seconds later, Sapphire’s eyelids fluttered.
“Wha— where—” she slurred, trying to push herself up before a nurse gently restrained her.
“Remain still, Lieutenant,” Revek said. “You suffered a head impact and dislocation. We are repairing the damage.”
Sapphire blinked blearily. “Cassia? Sam?”
“They are safe,” the doctor assured her. “You are all very fortunate.”

== Moments Later ==
The chaos of Sickbay dimmed to a steady rhythm of beeps and low conversation.
* Samaire’s leg was wrapped in a sterile regrowth sheath, luminous threads knitting beneath the transparent layer.
* Cassia’s ear canal glowed faintly blue as the regenerator did its work.
* Sapphire’s arm was immobilized in a field cast, her head wrapped in a diagnostic band.
Revek made one last notation before turning to the nurse. “All three will remain under observation for twelve hours minimum. Restrict movement. Hydration and neural recovery protocols as indicated.”
She stepped back and regarded them quietly — three Starfleet officers who had stared down monsters and still made it to her deck breathing. “You did well,” she said at last, her tone softening by an imperceptible fraction. “Now let us ensure you remain that way.”

### **USS Elysium – Main Sickbay**
*Deck 12, Six Hours After the Breach Event*
The ship’s night cycle had dimmed the overhead lights, leaving the Sickbay bathed in soft blue tones. The alarms and shouting of earlier were long gone — replaced by the rhythmic pulse of biobed monitors and the quiet hum of regenerative systems.
Cassia stirred first.
A dull ache pulsed behind her eyes, and the world came back in muffled echoes — like hearing underwater. When she opened her eyes, light shimmered and danced at the edge of her vision.
A nurse leaned over her, speaking softly.
“…Lieutenant, can you hear me?”
Cassia blinked, her brow furrowing. The words reached her unevenly, half-formed. “A little,” she managed, her own voice sounding distant. “It’s… quiet and loud at the same time.”
“That’s normal,” the nurse reassured, adjusting the cortical patch over her ear. “Your tympanic membrane is nearly healed, but your equilibrium will take time. Try not to move too quickly.”
Cassia turned her head — carefully — and saw the other two beds. “Samaire? Sapphire?”
“They’re here,” the nurse said, offering a small smile. “Both stable. You did well bringing them in.”
Cassia’s throat tightened, relief and exhaustion washing through her. “We… just ran,” she murmured. “Didn’t even think. Just—”
Her voice caught, the memory of the hound’s roar echoing back. The nurse laid a hand gently on her arm.
“You can talk about it later. For now, rest.”
---
On the next bed, Samaire floated between wakefulness and a medicated haze. The sheath over her leg shimmered faintly, nanofibers threading through muscle and sinew. When her eyes opened, she saw Dr. Revek standing nearby, recording vitals.
“Welcome back, Lieutenant,” Revek said evenly. “Pain level?”
Samaire swallowed hard. “Three… maybe four. Feels… heavy.”
“That is the regenerator working,” the Vulcan replied. “We reconstructed seventy percent of the damaged muscle. The remaining tissue will regenerate over the next twenty-four hours.”
Samaire exhaled shakily, her eyes watering. “I thought I lost the leg.”
Revek tilted her head slightly. “Had it not been for Lieutenant Cavendish's immediate actions and Lieutenant Young’s extraction, you may have. It was a precise cauterization — primitive, but effective.”
Samaire managed a faint laugh. “That’s one way to put it.” Her voice trembled. “My niece—?”
“She is unharmed,” Revek said at once, her tone softening. “The nursery and School remained sealed throughout the incursion.”
Tears rolled silently down Samaire’s cheeks. “Good… good.”
---
A low groan drew Cassia’s attention as Sapphire shifted on her biobed. Her head was bandaged, her left arm immobilized in a sleek black support field.
“Don’t… let me sleep through another attack,” she muttered, voice hoarse. “Feels like I got hit by a shuttle.”
Cassia’s lips twitched faintly. “You got thrown down a ladder instead.”
Sapphire blinked at her across the dim room, and a slow grin ghosted across her lips. “Well… that explains the headache.”
Revek approached. “You were unconscious for approximately five hours. Concussion severity was moderate; no intracranial bleeding detected. You will experience dizziness for some time.”
“Add that to the list,” Sapphire said dryly. She looked between the others. “Everyone still in one piece?”
Cassia lifted a hand halfway. “Mostly.”
Samaire gave a faint, wry hum. “One piece, several stitches.”
The three women shared a look — the kind that only came from surviving something terrible together. Beneath the exhaustion and the bandages, there was a spark of dark humor, relief, and unspoken camaraderie.
---
==Aftermath==
Revek stepped back, observing the small exchange. “I will inform your commanding officers that you are all stable. You will remain here until I authorize release. Hydration and rest are your current orders.”
“Understood,” Sapphire murmured. “Thank you, Doctor.”
When Revek moved away, Cassia settled back, eyes half-closed. The room hummed quietly — the sound of life persisting amid chaos.
Samaire whispered, voice barely audible, “We made it.”
Cassia turned her head, meeting her gaze. “Yeah,” she said softly. “But I don’t think I’ll ever forget those things.”
Sapphire sighed. “Let’s just hope we don’t have to meet any more of them.”
For a long moment, silence settled again — the kind that comes not from peace, but from the fragile calm after the storm.
And for the first time since the attack began, all three women let themselves breathe.
