It was late when a notification came through to Casper that access to assorted classified files had been attempted from a terminal on deck 15. The files were an assorted mix of reports on mystery attacks, ships found drifting or destroyed, attempts at piracy. No systematic pattern, just random attempts at entry.

Casper looked are the terminal in front of him at all the attempts to access the files. Perplexed a bit by it he accessed the files and quickly glanced at them. Nodding gently he got up and walked towards where the breach was happening.

Arriving on deck 15 he quietly moved over to where the attempted break in was happening, rounding the corner he leaned against the wall when he noticed the young female ensign in a command uniform typing commands into the terminal. He had never really seen anyone with hair quite like that, he had seen pink before just not that pink, "You know poking around in the system without proper security clearance is one sure fire way to find yourself on a one way trip to a penal colony for some time," he finally said outloud.

Miraj, absorbed in a report of strange sensor readings along the border of the Typhon Expanse hadn't heard him approach, and jumped when he spoke. "Er. Hi. I'm Er, I'm not poking. Well sort of, But I'm not trying to go anywhere I shouldn't. Its just this search doesn't seem to filter for my clearence and I can't figure out how to cut things out."

Casper wasn't buying that line, any first year cadet would know how to use throw filter system of the searches that they set up, "Now your moving from an Ensign who is trying to access files that she is privy to into the realm of suspect impostor and or saboteur," pushing off the wall he stood to full height and looked at her dead in the eyes, "So I will ask plainly. What are you trying to access Ensign Ensign the next words out of your mouth better be a better reason then 'it's not allowing me to filter my search'".

"But its the truth!" she protested, looking slightly panicked. "Look!" She showed him the terminal, and clearly entered her clearence, better than a cadets but still the shallow end of the trust zone. And then she sent in a query, and a second later, it sent back the full unfiltered list, with a complex line of code at the bottom indicating the error.

Casper took a step closer to the terminal and looked at the error code, his eye brows raised a little, "Why are you trying to access these files?"

"My mother's ship vanished ten years ago." Miraj explained. "I know its a long shot, but you never know. I live in hope." She finished forlornly.

Casper looked at the screen to see if there was anything he noticed out of the ordinary, why he was getting a security alert for this as well he was confused on and seeing that Security hadn't descended on them he could tell that it was Intelligence based. That being said he wasn't going to be putting any of his Intelligence codes in, in front of her.

Typing on the panel again he refined her search a bit more, "I admire that your trying to find out what happen to your mother Ensign," he said as he continued to type commands in.

"Thank you. Even though it feels like a fools errand at time. No sightings, no attacks, nothing. For ten years. Not in Federation space anyway."

"It is a bit of a long shot I have to admit but we'll see," moving through the system he was able to pull aside some files that she would have clearance for. A lot of it was just flight plans of hold flights, but it was a start, "Okay... So you may already have these but I have sent them to your computer terminal in your room they are of your clearance level so you won't have to worry about someone descending on you again. Come see me in the Intelligence Section some time Ensign. I will help you in any way I can so that way you don't get yourself in any trouble.

"Thank you." Miraj said. "I know its not a high priority for anyone. I know most people would be happy if she never returned. But she's still my mother. I appreciate the help."

"I understand," he replied turning to look at her after closing down the terminal, "Stop by the CDID and I maybe able to help you from there better than I can here."

"I will sir, thank you sir."
