Having made her way from the bridge Alicia headed down to Savar’s office. Arriving at the door she saw it was open so she peered inside. “Hey, do you have a few minutes?”
Hearing Alicia's voice, Savar turned and addressed her, "For you always Alicia. Come in."
Alicia smiled as she walked in and closed the door behind her. “I’ve no doubt you’re already picking up on what I’m feeling Imzadi. This whole being out in this void is making people nervous and me along with it.”
Savar gestured to a chair, "Yes, I've felt your apprehension Alicia as well as that of the crew. I also noted you have strengthened your mental shields. A wise precaution."
“I’ve got my shields about as high as I can them, it’s not like the crew aren’t focused on their work it’s just...” She paused. “I guess being in this void of blackness is making me nervous too.”
"They are afraid of the unknown and the Void represents the unknown," Savar explained. "Would you care for some tea? To ease your nervousness Alicia?"
“Please Imzadi.” She nodded. “It helps just having you inside my mind, I can feel our bond getting stronger every day.”
"Savar turned to the replicator. "Green tea, one cup." An instant later one cup of green tea had materialized. "Here you are Alicia." He looked at her. "That is good with the bond. No headaches?"
“Well...one or two but I’m still adjusting.” She stifled a yawn. “Plus being on the bridge for 0530 this morning has left me tired. I might catch up at lunchtime, grab myself a few minutes. I’ll see how the day goes.”
"Do not over exert yourself Alicia, you are no good to yourself or anyone else if you become ill." Savar pointed out.
“I couldn’t very well not turn up for bridge duty, besides I wouldn’t miss it!” She grinned. “I love being on the bridge.”
"Yes. You do seem to draw an inordinate amount of pleasure from being on the bridge." Savar observed.
“Well when you’re a junior officer you don’t very often get to be on the bridge, especially us Counsellors.” Alicia grinned. “I like to be up there amongst the action, call it a weakness of mine!”
"My wife is an action junkie, I believe is the correct term." Savar bantered with her,
Alicia giggled. “Perhaps so! But I can think of some action I prefer better, but that’ll have to wait until tonight.” She smiled a wry smile.
Savar quirked an eyebrow at her, "Is that a fact Lieutenant? Are you flirting with your superior officer?" His voice remained the same but Alicia would know he was teasing her.
Alicia grinned. “Oh you bet I am…You’ll just have to teach me a lesson later!”
He nodded, "Yes, I thought you were. I am sure I can find a suitable punishment for such behavior.."
“Mmm I’ll look forward to finding out what that is” Alicia grinned. Savar was doing a grand job of taking her mind off the reason she came to see him.
"Yes, I am sure you are. It must be something truly special." Savar remarked.
“Anytime with you is special for me Imzadi” Alicia smiled. “Thank you for helping me to feel better.”
He inclined his head in a short nod. "Thank you Alicia and you are welcome. It is my responsibility to help you any way I can."
“Just feeling you inside my mind with me is more of a help than you know.” Alicia smiled. “I guess I should be getting back to work and letting you get on with yours.”
"I am pleased my presence in your mind is acceptable to you Alicia. I find your presence in mine most invigorating." Savar replied. "I shall see you in our quarters for dinner."
“I will see you then” She stood and took a moment to give her husband a kiss. “I love you Savar.”
"And I you Alicia, very much." Savar replied a hint of emotion in his voice.
“I will see you later Imzadi” Alicia smiled and headed on her way.
"Until later my love." Savar replied with a hint of passion in his voice.
Alicia looked back and smiled before heading on her way.
