Mission: Season 3: Episode 4: Cause and Effect
Location: Deck 12

Jess Carried a large replacement EPS conduit down a corridor with her flight cadets. "C'mon, pilots. put your arms into it. We cannot loose main power on this deck. If we loose life support, you turds will not be graduating from Starfleet Academy alive!" She noted as they neared a damaged conduit.

"An' if we dinnae get this fixed an' somethin' happens to me baby, I promise ye, I'll space ye my damn self." Gallia added, she was happy to be doing some meat and potatoes engineering again, but these flight cadets bordered on hopeless, seemed only fear could motivate them properly.

Kara hopped around the corner behind the group and marched quickly to catch up. "Excellent, we've got help lovely. There's another three conduits that need to be replaced on this deck, the rest we can sort out tomorrow." She mentioned. "Hopefully we won't need to replace any more of these conduits anytime soon." She trailed off watching the cadets.

"Anyways, let's pick up the pace boys and girls, no time like the present and our home can't fix herself." She bent down and took a hold of part of the conduit to help with the lifting.

Smith there, assisting where he could, carrying supplies and making sure the cadets weren't trying to escape. "You heard the chief...keep moving!"

Kara dropped her toolkit as they approached the damage conduits, and began to unpack various tools and removing her tricorder, beginning to scan the surrounding hull sections. "The line is clear, no power circulating through it, so it's not live. We can begin the extraction process. Any damaged cabling can be piled up against the opposite wall. I'll have a team come by and take it back to engineering for analysis and recycling, if you please."

Gallia shook her head as the cadets didn't move, at least not fast enough for her liking, "Ye lot heard the lady, arseholes an' elbows, le's move it!" She ordered, "Or I'll get ye all washed out!"

Kara stifled a small giggle. She always loved the theatre of having Cadets around. Everything had to be serious and over the top. She rolled her eyes and thought to herself ~Ah the joys of being a fresh newbie.~

Sami wandered up next, turning to her Chief and her former team leader, "Sorry, ladies, I got more bad news, we've got a fire in auxiliary computer core three alpha, gonna need some hands to put it out."

Kara's eye's went wide, she turned and took off running down the hall not waiting for anyone, shouting as she ran. "Come on Cadets, how's about some firefightin'. Really gets the adrenaline flowing!"

"Right behind you, Chief." Sami called, rushing to catch up with Lt. Hoffman, Gallia somehow keeping pace alongside without issue.

"Sami, where's Tay? Where's me baby?" Gallia asked, she'd left Sami watching Tay to come here to help Kara.

"Cdr. Brett was out for a jog with her hairdresser, Spider or whatever, and they stopped by the see you." Sami replied, "I'm guessing you're sister not a sister. Either way, they're taking care of Tay until I get back."

"Sami, if I come home an' mah bebbe has a mohawk, I'm kickin' yer arse." Gallia laughed, though she knew Anje would not let anything stupid happen in their absence.

"Yeah, good luck with that."Sami laughed hard, the idea of Gallia being able to kick her ass was comical to her.

Kara led them to the door. "Right, there's emergency equipment, in the wall section directly to the left of the door inside. Grab an extinguisher Cadets and let's get to work." She tapped the panel on the door, which opened it. Within mere moments the corridor was filled with a horrifying heat. "Jesus, it's like a bloody sauna, we better get this fire under control fast!" She covered her eyes as she entered the room, the harsh flames at the back of the room licking the very top of the ceiling. "Right-o, let's get tae work team."

Gallia and Sami, already armed with fire extinguishers, decided they would take point, Sami forcing the fire prone Gallia behind her, remembering vividly their first meeting, "Nuh uh, you got a kid to get back to." Sami instructed, not caring Gallia was her superior as she physically moved the redhead behind her; she cared about nothing other than saving the ship and sending Tay's mommy back to her safely.

Kara used her own body to keep the Cadets at a safe distance behind her. Shoving them backwards, whenever one stepped up to close. They were gaining control and the fire started to die down. "One more final push ought to do it, then we can inspect the damage. What a mess of a day." Turning to blast a small upstart flame that jumped across her extinguisher stream.

Gallia, for her part, had slipped by Sami and taken down a rising flame coming from a ruined computer core, shaking her head, "Why didnae the fire suppression system take this thing down?" She asked.

Jess spoke. "The Fire Suppression System requires power." She continued. "And besides, fire is easy to deal with. Remove one of the points on the fire triangle, and you don't have a fire. We could seal the compartment and suck the atmosphere out of the room."

Kara sighed, placing her now empty fire extinguisher onto the floor. "Damn. Yeah, looks like we'll have to, the extinguishers aren't making much of a difference, and this heat is unbearable. Everyone out! Jess, you know what to do." Kara said, as she ran over, to grab Gallia by the arm, as the flames swelled behind her.

Gallia went where her fiance pulled her, figuring it was either that or sleep in separate spaces from her arm from now on, "Ach! I'm comin', love, dinnae fash yeself."

"Gallia, I've already seen you on fire in a situation nowhere near this bad, Kara's being prudent." Sami said.

Jess began giving orders. "Alright, Everyone off this deck, C'mon, Cmon. On the double." She did a check to see if everyone was off the deck before she herself climbed out and sealed the deck off. "No one's on that deck. Kill the life support, Lieutenant."

Kara turned to the control panel on the wall and changed life support to the negative value. "Shouldn't take more than a minute or so, for the atmosphere to be vented." She commented. "So, besides how is everyone?" She asked. "No burns I hope?"

"I'm fine love, dinnae ye worry." Gallia replied, though Kara had been addressing everyone she knew her fiance would want to know she was okay first, even if she couldn't come out and say it, "So, le's finish this l'il party an' get home te our baby."

Jess smiled and nodded. "Good work Pilot Recruits, you've succeeded in earning a tiny morsel of respect from me today. Don't let it go to your head."
