Andy had paused a moment, when he first read about the Chief medical officer, at least he did when he first read it, before coming to the ship. There was not many Gorn in starfleet, well he wasn't sure if there were any others besides the Doctor. But he was here, and his father always informed him, don't judge an officer by their race. His cousin was living proof married to a Romulan Ambassador, they lived on Romulus, when Hobus exploded. He never met him, but his wives were welcomed into the family, as he was married to two, one starfleet officer and the romulan ambassador.
Walking into the medical bay, Andy looked around. He was expecting more different than this, unsure what or why, but stories from the academy made him look for differences.
Sthilg was in his office looking through the small mountain of paperwork that came with his position. Hearing the alert that he had a patient to see he calmly put his padds in order before stepping outside. Noting the trill/vulcan in the waiting room he stepped over offering his hand. " Hello there ensssign how can i help you." he said giving him the warmest smile his species could manage.
"He's here for a physical," S'hib snorted, catching the door as it attempted to close. "A thorough one at that..." He smiled, ducking under the doorway and into sickbay, nodding politely to Sthilg before tapping on a PADD. "Says here you missed your last two appointments... care to explain? Ensign?"
Andy thought about lying, "If you want an honest reason... I never really thought about it. I had a physical before leaving the academy couple months ago, it kind of slipped my mind, that on each transfer you get, you must check in with the Chief medical officer for a complete physical."
S’hib slowly nodded in response, glancing down at his PADD before swiping something off screen. “I understand that certain procedures may seem redundant Ensign, but I would implore you to not make it a habit of having things slip your mind, especially now you are serving aboard this ship... and looking after the armory.” He snorted, scratching at the carpet with his left hoof.
“Doctor.” He nodded politey, looking briefly back at Andrew before turning and leaving, already lost in his next task as his PADD beeped for his attention.
" Well then shall we get this under way. " The gorn doctor said as he lead the way to one of the biobeds.
Nodding Andy followed him to the biobed, "Think I made a bad impression on the Commander?" He asked as he heard the doors close. "I have been spending a lot of my time on and off duty in the armoury getting accustomed to all that the ship has to offer."
" He'll come round of you do a good job. Have you had any injuriesss not on your profile sssince your last ssscan?" The doctor asked.
"Just a splinter, but I was able to remedy it on my own without medical assistance." Andy quipped. "Any real injuries, none as of yet."
" Well, everything'sss looking good ssso far. How are you finding the ssship so far?" The doctor iquried.
Andy thought about his time, he had been there so little time, he hadn't really time to make a name for himself. "For my first assignment, I find it pretty cool, especially being on a ship of this caliber. I told Lt Sullivan the same thing when I went for my psyche evaluation. I don't have the most glamourous position on the ship, but its what I had applied for. Guns."
"Every roll on the ssship isss needed and is asss glamorousss as the rest of them." The doctor replied.
Andy smiled, "I appreciate that Doc. So do I have a clean bill of health."
" Yesss your fit enough for duty." the lizard said saving the scan.
"I am sure the Commander will be glad to hear that." Andy replied, "I guess he will be my next stop, i haven't even reported for duty, just went straight to the armoury when I arrived.
" Don't let me keep you. You're free to go. " The gorn said warmly as he handed the ensign a copy of the scan.
Andy got up, "Thank you doctor." he headed to the door, turning as he still headed in the same direction. "Its been a pleasure meeting you, but unless its in the bar, I hope i don't see too much of you no offense." With that he walked out the door down the hall.
