Deck 10 - RUN!

When the pods reached the Elysiums shields, they were caught briefly, before pushing through. Each one then slammed onto the hull at various locations on Elysium, the spinning drill heads digging into the solid duranium hull plating as if it was thin aluminum.

::The bridge shook again as the pods slammed against the Elysium’s duranium plating. The sound of drilling reverberated through the decks.::

As soon as the pods latched on, the front hatches irised open and the hounds poured out, attacking anyone nearby, killing everyone in front of them.

As soon as the pods connected with the hull, new alarm klaxond began ringing through the ship. "Breach! Intruder alert!! We have breaches on decks five, eight, ten, fifteen and twenty!"

Fernando had been talking with Hans, making a Reservation for himself and Heather when the alarm sounded followed by the message of intruders on decks five, eight, ten, fifteen and twenty. "I must go! You take care and protect your self Hans."

Hans shook his head, "I go with you! We will fight them together."

Josephine had been wandering the ship as she was often want to do when off duty so had no weapon when she heard the alarm. Her daughter was safe that much she knew, safe at the nursery. So she headed for the nearest armoury.

Fernando nodded at the older chief's words. "Excellent, We will need more than one phaser. This way there is a weapons locker not too far from here. We can get some more weapons as well as hopefully finding some other crew members."

Kial stumbled along the corridor when the attack hit. Steadying himself, he touched his ear where his hearing device latched on. A slight ringing echoed in the background of his hearing as he opened his mouth, allowing his jaw to crack. Shaking his head, his survival instincts kicked in as he realized something happened. Gathering his thoughts, his hands crawled along the wall of the corridor as his pace quickened towards the nearby armoury or weapons locker. He hoped to pass another crew member who had the same thought along the way.

Josephine came around the corner and paused as she spotted the other crew member. Without a word she waved at them, not wanting to make too much noise.

Kial noticed her. Cautiously, he looked around making sure there weren't any danger. The pilot hadn't seen the intruders yet, but he heard the screams via his hearing device. At the moment, quietness reverberated among the corridor as he made his way toward her. Waving, he whispered, "Hey. You going the same place? A weapon locker?"

Josephine nodded. "yes its about 100meters down that corridor" she waved towards a transecting corridor. "Hopefully it has survived the attack." Her voice was low but she was facing him.

Kial replied, "We should head there. Hopefully we won't get interrupted along the way. What are those things?" He looked down the corridor again one more time, making sure it was clear.

Josie shook her head. "Not sure. But they are not going to stop from what I have seen and heard." They rounded the corner and she pointed. "There" then she froze as footsteps sounded.

Fernando and Hans were also closing in on the weapons locker as they cautiously moved down the corridor. "There!" Fernando whispered to Hans, "There's the locker!" Hans nodded. "Wunderbar! Let us get to it so we may defend our ship and crewmates."

Josie recognised the pair and grabbed Kial's arm and pulled him down the hall towards Fernando. "Fernando!"

Kial felt himself pulled along as she wretched his arm along. Stumbling to his feet, he met up with two additional crewmates, becoming a party of one.

Fernando had just approached the weapons locker with Hans when he heard a shouted voice. Turning he saw Josephine and another coming toward him. "Josephine!" He shouted in happy recognition,

Josie nodded and waved her hand down as she got to them. "Those things are nearby." she whispered.

As if summoned, a vicious growl suddenly rumbled nearby. Less than ten meters away, one of the monstrous creatures stepped into view. As soon as it saw them, it roared loudly, firing a spear-like projectile towards them.

Josephine dropped to the ground it was an automatic reaction.

Hearing a roar, Kial turned to see a beast fling something at them. Reacting as his gut instincts kicked in, he shielded the group protectively while hoping it wouldn't hit him. He covered Josephine as she dropped.

Hearing the roar and seeing the massive creature Fernando aimed his phaser at the creature and fired all while pushing Hans to the deck even as the creature fired some sort of projectile at them.

The projectile hit the wall behind Fernando, narrowly missing Kial and Hans.

"Prophets," Kial cursed silently as the barb neatly missed his top shoulder before impaling the wall. A slight tear formed on top of his shoulder cuff. He ducked, falling to his knee while grabbing his shoulder. Looking at the hound, he gulped trying to shove back his fear of it. He watched as Fernando fired at the beast. It wasn't Kial's time yet as he hoped they would make a bee line towards the armory locker and lock themselves in.

The phaser blast was stopped by the hound's front-facing shields, and it roared at the attacking prey, launching itself forward, on a direct line with Fernando.

Seeing the beast prepping its charge towards its attacker, Kial froze. He couldn't move.

Hans of all people was the first to react and move. Moving with a speed that belied his frame he reached Kial just as the creature started its charge, pulling the frozen Kial out of it's path.

Kial felt the harsh jerk as he gasped, grabbing Han's arm. He stumbled back, hitting the wall as he watched them face the hounds. They needed to get out. He rushed towards Josephine, grasping her shoulder and whispered, "Are you injured? We need to get to the armory locker. Now."

Josie allowed him to haul her up. She nodded and then looked at the beast and began to move down the hall at a brisk pace. She made it to the locker and pressed her hand to the lock and it opened. She flung it open and grabbed a rifle and handed it behind her to whoever had followed her.

Hans took a rifle and turned to look for Fernando, The security officer had the creatures attention as he fired, tucked and weaved just avoiding it's razor sharp claws. However it was just a matter of time before the creature caught him. "We must help Fernando!" He said to the others as he raised the rifle to his cheek and fired, striking the creature on its side.

As soon as he spoke, the creature scored a glancing hit on Fernando,sending him flying against the far bulkhead. As he slumped to the deck, the vicious wond on his leg could be seen easily.

The creature howled and snarled, as it began advancing on the other prey. It fired another projectile, missing Josephine's head by millimeters, when she turned to look at Fernando.

Fernando was fighting to stay conscious the pain in his leg was blinding yet he knew he had to help the others. He raised his phaser and fired again at the creature's unprotected backside. The phaser tearing a huge gouge in the creature's flesh, It howled in pain at the wound.

Kial wasn't out of it yet. Grabbing the rifle, he turned and rushed for the fallen Fernando. Crouching before him, assured him with a whisper, "Stay still. Don't move too much."

Watching the big doggy flail in pain, he adjusted the setting on his rifle and took aim at his head.

"Sage advice." Fernando muttered weakly as Kial took aim at the creature.

As soon as the blast ended, the wounded hound snarled and spun to face the threat. However, the damage to its back, caused its legs and entire lower half of its body to stop working. It collapsed in a yelp of agony. Then, it snarled, angrier that before, and started drawing it way forward, towards Fernando, its bloodied fangs gnashing furiously.

Fernando lay there, his wound sending waves of pain through his entire body. He saw the wounded creature crawling, its fangs gnashing as it drew closer to him. he raised his phaser, "Die you son of a b......." As he fired again at the creature,

The phaser blast struck the creature directly in its forehead, and it quickly disintegrated.

Once it was gone, the corridor was silent, save for their eavy breathing and the realest klaxon still wailing. Without even firing a shot, he lowered his weapon. He tapped his combadge, “Ensign Kial to medical. I have wounded.”

Keeping his rifle primed, the energy charged, he kept his eyes out for any additional threat.

And as a group they made their way to safety.
