Only a few crew were awake and engineering was at full strength as they began to bring the cloak on line.

Thor worked double shift so he made sure there were no hiccups with the cloaking device. Still living with the PTSD of what happened on another ship, he hoped by now those nightmares were behind him.

=BRIDGE=

There was only a skeleton crew on the bridge when the Commodore arrived, nursing a hot chocolate with weary eyes.

Gary rose from the centre seat as Phoenix came onto the bridge. He moved to his customary XO seat. "Good morning, Commodore. Bad night?" He inquired noticing her weary eyes. "Or just too early?"

"Both" came the reply. "I hate coffee as you know but I am tempted for the hit of caffeine. " She sat down and took a breath to hold off the yawn that threatened.

Sitting at his Tactical station, Kyle was nursing his first, of what would more than likely be multiple, raktajinos. Looking over at the Commodore as she approached her command chair, he spoke up. "All systems show ready, Ma'am."

Phoenix nodded and brought up her own diagnosis screen.

Miraj slipped onto the bridge trying not to bounce. There was going to be some proper flying soon, and she was thrumming with excitement. Ensign Talan stood aside at helm and disappeared before Miraj could even toe her boots off. A quick glance over the helm, a few adjustments to the layout and she was ready. And there was no hiding her glee when she said, "Conn is at standby, ma'am."

"Good. Contact Engineering, Get the cloak on line," Phoenix said with a smile.

As the cloaking device fell under his purview as a defence system, Kyle reached over to the appropriate control and sent the go signal to Main Engineering.

***Main Engineering***

Thor had asked for volunteers from other shifts, so now the ones working now were more than double. He received the word about having the cloaking device online. With just an order, he had been prepared, so the cloaking device was online now.

**BRIDGE***

"Once the cloak is active, Lieutenant Derani, Take us in. Slowly. Lets be cautious. Warp 1."

Miraj slid her fingers up th econ, engageing the warp drive and slinking towards the border. "Fifteen minutes to the border at warp 1." the navigation panel didn't so much as blip to indicate other warp signatures or any sort of navigational hazard. So far so good.

Gary looked at his console. Everything showed green. All that was now needed was the cloak to be activated and then they would begin to sneak across the slaver's territory. Weapons were on standby, and he hoped they wouldn't be needed. Shields were also on standby.

Thor messaged the bridge the cloaking device was online now.

"Engineering reports the cloak is operating at peak efficiency, Ma'am," Kyle reported as he looked over at the Commodore and Executive Officer.

Phoenix nodded and sipped her beverage "Alert all security patrols that we are entering enemy space"

Gary opened the com. "Elysium to all security patrols. Heads up people. We're entering hostile territory."

A few beats later, Kyle spoke up again. "The security teams are in position, and the Colonel has signaled that she and her Marines are ready." He looked over at the Command Team. "She added that her as her Exec, Captain David Tonelly, is an El Aurian, neither inhibitor will work for him. She stated that his biology refused both injections. So, he will be the only Marine that our sensors, and hopefully those of the Thaih'ea, will be able to read."

Gary accepted the news stoically then turned to Phoenix, "Too late to do anything about it now, unless we put him in the holodeck and if we were boarded the invaders would think he was part of the simulation. Just going to have to hope for the best."

"Keep an eye on him just in case" Phoenix said calmly. "We will have to deal. " She looked towards the viewscreen, that showed the space in front of them. Dread filled her but she had years of training and her face showed nothing. This was going to be hell, for sure.

Gary nodded and gave a simple reply. "Will do. We'll monitor his location and status."

Ooohhh exciting! Got a lil' lil' trepedation going on as we tippity-toe and slip across the border. High tension in the air.

Ummm---concerned though. About Captain Tonelly. Running around the ship in nothing but tight fitting trousers and a beard. Fully in a transportable state and thereby subject to kidnapping by the dang T.H's. Couldn't we...IDK...I like the idea of him hanging out in the holodeck; perhaps a recreation of queueing up at the local DMV? Or him buying stamps at the holodeck post office? Or, waiting for Whavi while her holocharacter tries on a new blouse at the mall? It's only three weeks. Sehr Preocupado that some sorta something is afoot. Some regrettable oversight is going to happen that we won't like.

And I have the bad feeling after reading this excellent JP over three times now that important systems are being held together with chewing gum, a single strip of yellowed bandage tape, yesterday's mashed taters and two thread bare pieces of bailing string. We went from the Pride of Starfleet to the Hillbillies of Easy Street.

But fun. But still....Yeah. Con Concertino y'all...cause for concern.
