The away team gathered in one of the less busy medical bays to await the Chief of Medical and his team to get them all sorted for the away mission.

Nicholas stood leaning against the nearest bulkhead. He was currently going over the information he had gleaned from the information packet that Teevs had provided. While he was having some issue with pronunciations, he felt that he had, at least, started to master the accent that should fit in with the character he would be playing down on the planet's surface.

Teevs had spent the last few hours helping Rin with the outfits, making sure they were as close as they could be. They were together when the summons to sickbay to begin the modifications. "I've never been so nervous," he admitted to her as they entered sickbay, a storage unit in his arms. He wasn't worried about his contributions, he was worried about these people approaching the slavers. Nobody he knew did that, willingly.

"None of us are looking forward to this," Rin replied, reassuring him that his feelings were not out of place. "We appreciate your contributions."

N'vok arrived, datapad in hand. He never looked forward to this part of such missions. While he was not vain, he was comfortable in his appearance and found it . . . uncomfortable to have it changed.

J'Air had been briefed on what was needed for this task and was somewhat excited about how great it was going to be to do all that 'artwork' but also quite a bit more uneasy about what would happen if it wasn't authentic enough. Too much hung on the risks to the Away Teams' lives and that really put a damper on the 'good side' of the work ahead of the team.

Collecting up the supplies needed and organising the first bio-bed, prepping it with the program necessary and working out how much surgical time would be needed for each individual's 'transformation' had all be exhaustively looked into, calculated, checked and double checked and was all now to hand and ready.

J'Air had seen the outfits that Lt Rin and Teevs had supplied and had also studied the features they needed to be altered and/or added. She stood ready as the patients began to arrive.

Allocating the first few Team members to the first of the prepared Bio-beds she looked towards Cmdr Sthilg for permission to begin with her first patient.

N'vok stepped forward, best to get this over with. "I am ready when you are, good doctors."

Naxea waited as the doctors began to perform the alterations. She was never a fan of these procedures.

Sthilg nodded though even he wasn't acousous to begin this task. Their advisories gave him the creeps especially given what they'd be doing to his family. Putting members of his family this close would be very unsettling for him.

" Okay people let'sss make sssarfleet proud of our work." he said to his team giving them a nod to indicate they were allowed to proceed.

Johnathan laid down on the biobed that the team working on him indicated. As he laid his head down, he watched as the rest of the Infiltration team each did the same on their own assigned biobeds. This wouldn't be the first time that he would be surgically altered for an assignment, so he wasn't nervous.

Miraj really wasn't looking forward to it, she hadn't liked the time she went to the sixteenth century, and this trip had even less to recommend it. BUt looking around sickbay, she was inspired. "Mr Dosivi!" she waved at him, and scurried over, "Mr Dosivi. I don't suppose there are any species round here that look like me at all? Enough that I don't need...?"

Teevs looked at Miraj, remembering their time in the shuttlebay. He studied her features for a moment, taking care to be respectful and not make eye contact with her, before responding. "Unfortunately, you are quite unique. When we met in the shuttlebay, I thought you were Lonian because of your features, but when I looked closer I saw that you were another species. The ridges here," he gestured, using his own face, to the area just above his eyebrows, where her ridges were. "Those will be ok, and are close enough, but the lines here," he gestured to his forehead, referencing the line-shaped markings on her forehead, "... if you are to pass as Lonian, they must be hidden or changed."

Shortly after Teevs finished speaking, a thought came to his mind, and he turned to Rin. "Miss Rin, is it plausible in your story to have some individuals in this team be part of a... hmm... cult, I believe is the term, but the kind where you use markings to identify each other? Because Miss Derani's markings could resemble such a thing."

"Sounds like that needs more backstory than we have time to concoct. We are out of time," Rin replied.

"I'm not even getting off the ship." Miraj pointed out hopefully, "I wouldn't need it?"

"I am not privy to your part of the mission. But the order was for everyone. You want an exemption, you need to take it up with Colonel Ahzul," Rin replied.

Miraj swallowed a sigh. She wasn't going to bother colonel Azhul, She'd just have to suck it up. "Yes, ma'am."

Sthilg opened his tool kit ready to get to work. Even though he still asked his first patient the important question. " Would you like another doctor Colonel?" he asked Naxea the memories of his mirror universe self always at the back of his mind.

Naxea took a breath. "Not at all," she replied. Sure, what happened to her still hurt her but she was a professional and a Marine. The mission always came first. "Why? Do you have a more handsome doctor working?" she teased to break the tension.

" Sssadly no." The gorn replied with his own chuckle. " Firssst off all we're going to ussse sssome of the bio passste to smouth out your ridgesss." The lizard said as he picked up a small jar of bio paste.

Naxea grinned as she sat back on the raised biobed as Sthilg began to fill in the nose ridges. She only hoped the procedure wouldn't take long.

The procedure didn't take long as the gorn was soon applying the fake ridges to her forehead. " Ssshoudn't be long now." he reassured her.

J'Air did a couple of what she wanted to call "facelifts" or "chameleon" changes for members of the team but when she saw that Cmdr Sthilg was free after he'd finished with Colonel Naxea, she went over to him.

"Are you and I also be be altered to look like locals? Or is that only for the rest of the away team assembled here?" she asked him, well aware that he wasn't going get away without a complete image altering holo-meter to disguise his size alone but wondering is she was to submit her own self for adjustment like the rest of this group.

If she was, she too would need bio-paste to conceal her semi-Bajoran upper-nose ridges even if she covered every other inch of herself in the flowing clothes and long boots, those would still show if not given the "filler" masking.

" No i will be on the ship preparing for the incoming casssualtiesss. " Sthilg said as he held up a mirror for Naxea. " I can alter your appearance if you will give me sssome time to finish with everyone elssse."

"I am ready whenever a doctor is free," Rin said, waiting for her turn. She wished she knew what the damn plan was. Her surgical recommendation was for the ground team, although she thought it reasonable that the ship team should also be disguised in case something happened and they did, in fact, have to leave the ship.

" Take a ssseat." Sthilg said as the biobed next to him cleared.

Rin sighed as she did as instructed.

" Now firssst thing we're going to do is hide your implant," Sthilg said as he reached for the putty. " If anything hurtsss let me know."

Rin grinned. "Nope, we're keeping it. There are Lonians in exile because they use such tech. Onely time I get to go undercover."

" Than just the head ridges." The gorn responded as he moved to begin adding them to the xo borg before moveing the colour to match her skin tone.

A few moments later, Nicholas's procedure was completed. Sitting up, he reached up and touched his new face. "How do I look, Mister Teeves?"

The Lonian --the real one in the room-- looked over to the officer who spoke to him. "Uncanny... Lieutenant," he answered, the pause only to remember what rank the little icons on their uniforms represented. As the only one not needing modifications, he had been setting some clothes onto an unused bed so the modified could choose their attire. Teevs held up a shirt, a burgundy color with elbow-length sleeves, "this looks like it would fit you."

Over the following few hours the away team was kitted out and changed to meet the mission requirements.

Ooc Teevs: to answer some questions sent to me about Lonian clothing (figured the answers would benefit everyone here) : i somewhat imagined Lonian clothing to be similar to one of the two links below. I'm not going to be picky about it though, so whatever gives off "screw my planet, im gonna go be a pirate" vibes to you will be just fine :)
