It blared through the ship, sending officers from their posts
Gary was first to arrive at Medical and Savar was second to be checked over and receive whatever inoculations they needed to protect both themselves and the ship from whatever illnesses were on the planet below them. It wouldn't do at all to bring the plague back with them.
Alicia had followed Gary off the bridge and down to Sickbay for her inoculations. She looked at Savar concentrating on a mental message to be careful and come back safe. Their bond would carry the message without her having her telepathic abilities.
Heather was already on hand busy helping. out others as well as getting her own inoculations. She wasn’t sure how Fernando would feel with her going off ship but they both had their jobs to do.
A slight inclination of his head was the only sign Savar gave of Alicia's message and his own sent to her to remember to do the same. Gary looked over to Savar, "I'll keep Alicia safe Savar. Don't worry." Savar arched an eyebrow, "I know you will Commander. Worry is a human emotion but I do appreciate the gesture."
“As do I Commander” Alicia smiled warmly as she looked towards Taylor.
Gary smiled at Alicia. "Well now its unanimous."
“Commander, there’s something you should know before we go.” Alicia looked at Taylor. “I can’t ... read or sense anything. There’s been a ... hopefully temporary problem with my abilities. Doctor Sthilg seems to think they’ll come back in time.”
"You can observe with your eyes and point out what you see." Gary countered before adding, "I'm sorry about the loss of your abilities and I hope it is indeed temporary."
Rhodes came in next, he'd been delayed by chewing out Briggs, but was now in medical, "Wonder what in hell this is about..." He grumbled, taking a seat close to the XO, "You got any idea what all this is about, Commander?"
Gary nodded to Rhodes, "I do Serg.... excuse me Warrant Officer Rhodes, congrats on your promotion. This will be right up your alley. We're going to hunt down a rogue Starfleet Officer before he can mess up the timeline."
Jess spoke. "Boss, it's these kinda missions that usually go straight to hell. Rogue Starfleet Officer? The incident report is going to be the size of the Sacred Scrolls of Rixx. Plus we got the prime directive at work."
"Couldn't agree with you more Jess. That's why it's imperative we find him as quickly as possible and get him back here without attracting to much if any notice." Gary replied with a shake of his head. He could feel a whopper of a headache coming on as he tried to imagine everything that could go wrong and have an answer for it.
"I'm on your wing as usual, Boss. I guess we'll have to go incognito." Jess noted. "Do we got any leads, cuz I really want to show this deserter what a Starfleet Officer looks like before I throw him into the brig personally."
"And I'm glad to have you there Jess." Gary replied honestly. "As far as leads, Arri is in contact with the other member of his shuttle. She should be able to at least provide us with a starting point."
Malak wandered in. A civilian archeologist, he had been watching the planet and wishing he could go down to Egypt and look around before others did, but he knew the risks and such. He paused at the door way. "Ah.. Commander Taylor?" he called out. "Am I supposed to be here?"
Gary looked at the newcomer, "That depends sir. Who are you?"
"Malak Kavanagh. Civilian Archeologist" The man replied as he moved into the room more.
"Then yes sir, you are suppose to be here." Gary said rising to shake the man's hand. "This is Counselor Keela-Salik, she is also a member of the away team."
"Counselor" Malak inclined his head. "Can someone inform me of our directive?"
Alicia offered a warm smile as she inclined her head towards Malak the way he had to her. She was going to leave the answer for Taylor.
"Our directive sir, is really quite simple. We are to locate, detain and bring back to this ship one Starfleet Officer who may be attempting to alter the timeline.'' Gary answered Malak's question simply and directly.
Jess spoke. "Do we have permission to put him down if he resists?"
Gary gave Jess a look. "As of right now Jess, no word has come down regarding how to handle Lt. Commander Westin should he prove to be uncooperative."
Turak walked into sickbay, late to the party as usual because he had been busy gathering his tactical gear for the away mission. He walked over to Commander Taylor and asked, "reporting as ordered, Sir. Who's giving out the hypo sprays?"
"Good to see you Turak. As to the hypo sprays, I'm guessing medical personnel will be handing them out." Gary replied .
Turak responded, "Sounds good, Sir. How soon will we be leaving for the mission?"
"As soon as all team members report in, get fitted for wardrobe and have the have the necessary inoculations Mr. Turak. Though you and Commander Savar will also need some cosmetic alterations as not to raise any suspicion once we get to the surface." Gary replied easily.
Several medical officers moved in and began assisting with the inoculations and getting people situated.
Responding to Commander Taylor, with some reluctance, Turak said as the process begins, "Yes, Sir, my favorite part!"
*Transporter Room*
Jess entered the transporter room. "By all the four goddesses of Betazed... This dress is ridiculous. Did human women wear such tight clothing during this time." She breathed as she endured these tight clothes. "And for the record, no one is to hear that Jessica Vaii ever wore a dress."
Turak strolled into the transporter room, taking it easy and waiting for the inoculations and drugs from his recent procedure to alter his looks to wear off. Seeing that he was the second one there, he greeted Lieutenant Commander Valkyrie with a "hello, are you ready for the mission?"
"No, I'm not Commander Turak." Jess noted. "And that is coming from a woman who has seven pairs of uniforms in her closet, along with a dress uniform."
Before Turak could reply, a Hologram of the Captain Appeared.
"Greetings, there are two locations we are beaming you down to. Team 3, will be commanded by Lieutenant Commander cha'Salik hei-Surak Talek-sen-deen and will consist of
Lieutenant Commander Vaii , Lieutenant Voight, Lieutenant Nevada McKay and Warrant Officer Timothy Rhodes Sr." She waved the first group forward. "Co-ordinates are set." She said. "Engergise when ready."
Once they were gone, "Away team 4 will be commanded by Commander Taylor and consist of Lieutenant Commander Turak, Lieutenant Alicia Kelea-Salik,Sergeant Heather De La Rosa and MrMalak Kavanagh" Phoenix looked at them. "Good luck" and she waved them to the transporter padd. "Co-ordinates are set." She said. "Energise when ready."
Alicia and Heather both moved to join Taylor as they're names were mentioned, giving each other a smile as they did so. "We're ready" Heather smiled as she looked at Gary.
As Phoenix disconnected the contact with the Transporter bay, alarms began to sound on the Bridge.
