Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Holodeck @
2018 words - 4 OF Standard Post Measure

The wedding was over. Lia and Gary were finally and at long last married. The ceremony had been beautiful with it's mixture of Japanese and Western (culture) elements. Now, it was time to party.

The holodeck had been set up to appear as a swank night club with a big band playing all the hits and taking requests. A gigantic buffet had been set up with a variety of food such as shrimp, beef, chicken even steak as well as some jumbo Vulcan mollusks and other non Earth foods. A huge assortment of drink had also been set out including some Romulan Ale.

It was time to unwind and have some fun.

Gary held Lia's hand, "So Mrs. Taylor may I have this dance?" He asked as he led her out onto the dance floor.

Stepping forward, Lia bowed and looked at her new husband. "Certainly Mr. Taylor, lead on to happiness". She stepped in close to Gary and closed her eye's, *Well Lia me darlin', your a married woman now* she thought.

Gary took her in his hands, cradling her like she was a precious piece of art and she was precious to him. She was his world. As the music began playing the John Denver song Annie's Song that Gary had changed some of the words and retitled Lia's Song. As the music enveloped them in it's wholesome lyrics, Gary waltzed Lia around the dance floor, his eyes only on her. "I love you Lia Taylor." He whispered as they glided across the floor.
As they danced, Gary sang softly to Lia.

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

Jess was at a corner table holding her head. "Goddesses have mercy, I knew it was Romulan Ale, but I drank it anyway."

Alicia was sitting with Savar, letting him watch the proceedings with interest. “Perhaps you’d care to dance later?” She gave him a curious look. “We’ll have to improvise our way around the bump though.” She grinned.

Savar nodded, "I would like that Alicia and I am sure we can improvise enough to dance." Savar replied.

Heather stood and held out her hand to Fernando. “Once the newly wedded couple have had their dance, would you care to join me in a dance?” She grinned. “I don’t believe we’ve danced since our wedding.”

Fernando smiled broadly at Heather's suggestion. "I certainly would Heather! I look forward to tripping the light fantastic with you." he replied happily as he watched Lia and Gary waltz across the floor.

Man'darr made his way to Jess and chuckled as he sat down across from her. "Can't handle the liquor?" he teased.

Jess responded. "I can drink anything. But Romulan Ale.." Jess noted. "It makes my head feel like a blimp."

Ma'darr laughed as he sat down next to Jess and placing a gentle hand on her back. "Maybe why it's illegal," he joked. "Do you want to stay or want me to escort you back to your quarters?"

Jess responded. "My quarters, Definately."

Victor turned to Tonya, "May I dance with you?"

Tonya takes a deep breath. "I would love to dance with you. When the next song starts."

Miraj hung at the side, near the wall and the buffett. There was a lot of things she vaguely recognised from the dimsum stands at Fishermans wharf, and lots of things she didn't. She took a small selection, and watched all the happy couples move out onto the floor to join the bride and groom.

As Gary sang to her, Lia found herself lost in the moment. She had managed to have the wedding she wanted, and now her new life lay before her. A life unlike any she had lived before, because now she would have to think about two people no more just jumping in taking a chance. She joined Gary in singing the words to the song, her soft contralto voice complimenting Gary's. Suddenly Lia caught herself singing, and looked at Gary. "Sorry, guess I got carried away". She nestled further into her new husband, a slight redness to her cheeks.

Gary leaned his head forward so it touched Lia's, "Don't be sorry. Don't ever be sorry around me. Your my wife and I love you totally and completely. You have nothing to be sorry about. Just be yourself." As he finished he kissed her softly. As he kissed her, the song ended and an new one started, so more of the crew could dance and enjoy themselves.

Victor and Tonya started to slow dance. Both take deep breaths as Victor remembers pass dances with his Tonya while Tonya felt loved and secured.

Heather smiled as she and Fernando joined the others on the dance floor. “We should do this more often. I would rest my head on your shoulder but it’s a bit tricky with a bump in the way!”

Fernando chuckled at her comment, "Yes we should." He agreed as they glided around the room. "As for your head resting on my shoulder, it is alright Heather, we are dancing together and holding each other."

“That’s true” Heather smiled, waving as she saw Alicia and Savar about to join the floor as well.

“Heather looks like she’s having fun” Alicia grinned as she waved back then looked at Savar. “Let’s join them.”

"How can she not? She is with Chief De La Rosa." Savar observed. "An excellent idea Alicia." Savar replied as he led her onto the dance floor.

Alicia looked into Savar’s eyes as they danced together, she considered herself to be a fortunate woman. She waved at little Connor who was sitting quite happily with grandad Sthilg whilst Alicia enjoyed her time with Savar.

As the dance floor started to fill up, Lia headed for their table. "Lets sit and just watch for a bit, and I think I can smell Yakitori. So it's munchie and drinkipoo time".

"I'm all for that." Gary admitted as he followed Lia to their table. Though in truth, he did want some of the Yakitori chicken and of course something to wash it down.

Sitting down with his grandson resting against him Sthilg was helping himself to a few of the nibbles from the buffet table. A smile was on his face as his white eyes fell over his family and crew enjoying themselves after the nightmare they had been through.

Lia moved to the food counter and prepared two plates, she ensured both she and Gary had plenty of Yakitori and she placed two Dango on each plate also. She now returned to Gary and presented him his food, "I'll just go and get us a drink, anything particular you want?"

" Thank you." Gary replied taking the plate from her." Then grinning he continued, "What I want isn't on the menu Lia." Gary replied cheekily. "As for something to drink, Sake is fine."

Lia started to giggle, "That particular menu is available later in the evening, once we're alone". She turned for the bar, "Sake it is, and don't you dare nick anything off my plate Gary Taylor".

" Then I can't wait for the evening to get here." He bantered back. Giving Lia a wide eye look he said, "Moi?" Gary jested. I would never." He protested with a smile. Then waited for Lia to turn her back as he took a Dango off her plate all while keeping the innocent look on his face.

She had only moved a few steps when she again turned to face Gary, "Your nights pleasure is at serious risk at this time, husband of mine. Yakitori and Dango are two of my favourite Japanese dishes, even my ears are alert to their removal" She wagged a finger at him and pointed at herself, "If you want desert, you better leave my main dish alone". She began giggling again as she now headed for the bar to fetch their Sake.

Gary favored her with an innocent look before breaking out in a wide smile. "Well, never let it be said i upset my bride on her wedding day." He replied as he took the Dango he had swiped and put it back on her plate. "There. Satisfied?" He bantered with her. "And I definitely want desert. I surely do."

As she returned with the drinks, she noted the happy return of her Dango. "It would appear both of us will be having desert tonight, here you are one Sake. You can get the next one dearest husband, and maybe even a little more Yakitori". She lent over and kissed his lips, while at the same time removing one of his Dango.

"Thank you sweetie." Gary replied. "And it's always better when we both can partake." He grinned, "I can definitely get some more Yakitori." He answered as Lia kissed him. As she took his Dango, his hand closed over hers. "Not so fast darling." He whispered before continuing, "However since it is our wedding day and I do love you, so enjoy." He teased before releasing her hand.

Lia gave him another kiss and returned his Dango, "All's fair in love and war, but I'll let you have it back. I wouldn't want to to run out of steam, because of lack of food". She laughed and sat down and blew Gary another kiss, tonight was going to be a fun night. And for once, she didn't have to worry about anything.

Gary shook his head and chuckled at her comment, " Your generosity know no bounds." He bantered. "Run out of steam? I think not Mrs. Taylor." As he said it Gary realized how natural it sounded and how perfectly it fitted Lia. This day had been a long time in coming and they had both weathered a lot of storms. But here they were as man and wife and he couldn't be happier.

She ate her food and drank her Sake, and a thought slowly arrived in her head. From this day forward, Holmes had vanished and she could live a happy life as a wife. And perhaps even a mother, how her world had turned from the day she set foot on a starship called Elysium.

If Lia had really been looking, that is paying attention, she would've seen a very nicely dressed woman entering, Anje Brett, fresh from the Q and fresh to the wedding.

Looking around the room, the new Mrs. Taylor spotted a face. She rose and walked towards the face and upon reaching it, simply hugged her. "I missed you", was all she said.

Gary watched Lia, wondering where she was going, then he saw the reason and a broad smile came to his face as he got up and followed her. Reaching the place, he waited for Lia to finish before he stepped forward and hugged Anje tightly. "Anje, welcome home. Like Lia said, I missed you a great deal."

"Indeed." She smiled, taking Lia's hands, "And congratulations, darling."

Olivia sat off to the side at one of the tables just watching everyone. If Casper had still been here, she would of had him out on the dance floor for at least a couple dances, but since he had left without a word not all that long after they had reconnected, it felt odd for her to attend certain events alone now.
