** Arboretum **

Kara emerged in the Arboretum glad to have gotten out of the Jeffries tubes at long last. She stayed low waiting for Malakai to emerge. It seemed all quiet but she wasn’t willing to make a silly mistake, she had her unborn baby to protect.

A moment later. Malakai emerged from the Jeffries tube and moved to join Heather. "All quiet for now at least here but it won't stay that way for much longer. The ship is firing its main weapons you can feel the thrum. So, that means it has engaged the enemy."

Kara was about to speak as the ship was struck, the lurch almost throwing her off her feet. “Wow! That packed a punch.”

Malakai steadied her, "Yeah and that was with the shields up." He noted. "But the Elysium is tough, just like it's crew."

Kara nodded. “I noticed. I think I’m starting to like it here.”

"It's a good ship and so is the crew from what I have seen." Malakai admitted. "I can see us staying here." He said after a moment. Giving Kara a quick wink.

Kara smiled warmly. “So can I Imzadi. Now let’s get the hell out of here.”

"An excellent idea. You stay behind me Kara, we'll go slow and listen for any sounds of fighting coming our way." Malakai answered as they moved through the arboretum.

Kara nodded. “I promise I’ll stay behind you. I have our baby to protect.”

"Yes, you do. So, please don't take any chances." Malakai whispered back to her.

** Elsewhere **

Sthilg roared as he used his energy shield to bowl through a group of the admiral's men. Even without his people's combat training his seer size was a weapon all in itself.

Naxea was behind Sthilg as she fired off a shot at the remaining boarders as they withdrew from the area. "Man'darr, go after them!"

The large capellan smiled. "With pleasure, ma'am! Move it Marines!"

"Oorah!" came the reply as the group pressed on, laying down deadly fire as they did so.

Kara looked towards her husband as they eventually caught up, seeing the familiar reptilian figure of Sthilg she nodded to Malakai.

“It’s Commander Sthilg the ship’s Chief Medical Officer.”

Malakai came alongside the CMO, "We are here to help." He stated simply.

“Doctor!” She offered Sthilg a smile as they cautiously made their way towards him and the woman he was with, that she had yet to meet.

Malakai was silent as Kara spoke to the doctor. She evidently had dealings with him. He waited to see what came next.

" Keep behind me both of you i've more phassser proof partsss." the gorn yelled as he fired his phaser down the corridor.

Kara nodded and took her place behind phaser in hand, she wasn’t aiming on being a weak point. Malakai was more than able to look after himself.

Upon hearing the distinct familiar footsteps come from a side corridor, Naxea turned to see the large shape of S'hib approach them. "Hey you," she greeted with a smile.

"Hey!" S'hib beamed, leaning in to kiss her briefly. "You should have seen me earlier, totally didn't do something stupid..."

Naxea raised an eyebrow at her fiancée and grinned, knowing he had definitely done something stupid and likely hilarious. She wanted to burst out and tell him the news, but the moment wasn't right.

A few beats later, Captain Reece and his team of security officers arrived. Looking over the group, he saw that the Marine Colonel was the highest ranking individual present. Moving over to her, he spoke to her. "Hello, Colonel, Captain Kyle Reece, Academy Commandant. Captain Kass asked me to move through the ship and clear out any unwelcomed guests. Has your group encountered any?"

"Yes we have, but Doctor Sthilg technically has command here. My Marines are actively pushing the intruders back towards Section 10-Bravo," she reported before letting out a sneeze, barely managing to cover her nose in time as she felt another one come. "Dammit!" she managed to curse as she let out another sneeze, followed by another.

"Bless you," Kyle said with a grin. "And congratulations." He had known many Bajorans during his career, and the only time he saw a woman sneeze, was when she was pregnant.

"Congratulations?" S'hib remarked, nudging Naxea. "Who'd you shoot?"

She gave Kyle a look before looking at S'hib, grinning. She now knew it would best to tell S'hib now before he found out on his own which was very likely with this group. She took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm pregnant."

He stared at her for a short while, a frown teasing above his wide eyes as his brain processed what she had just said. "Wha- how?" He asked as his hooves thumped forward in an uneven manner, forcing his bulk into the woman he loved while flinging his arms around her.

"Did you seriously just ask me how I got pregnant?" she asked, looking up at him, chuckling. "But we'll talk later."

"You know what I mean..." He huffed, nudging into her face with his.

" I'll defer to your experience in thessse mattersss Azhul." Sthilg said as a few phaser shots slammed into his shield.

Malakai spoke to Naxea, "Is there a way to get behind them? Catch them between us? That would take the starch out of them."

"You'd have to go around through Sections 14 and 16 to cut them off. Those sections haven't been cleared yet as far as I'm concerned. Captain Reece, you head that way with your security officers and see if you can cut them off.

Kyle nodded. "Alright, I'll signal you when we get in position." He then collected his team and they moved off quickly.

Kara looked towards Naxea, given the sneezing and what she was sensing from Naxea it seemed she wasn’t the only one who was pregnant. Staying behind Sthilg alongside Malakai she kept her phaser drawn.

Malakai gave a sidelong glance at Kara and winked as they awaited word from Reece that he and his team were in position. "Stay close to me and keep your head down. Don't want anything happening to you or our baby."

Kara nodded. “Don’t worry, I’m not aiming to get either of us injured.” She smiled warmly.

**Main Engineering**

Gami grinned at the sight of the dead invaders littering the deck, save for one who was still grabbing his head, sobbing. She kneeled down next to him, continuing to smile. "Awww, what's the matter? Did the big bad Betazoid hurt you?" she mocked. "You have no idea the things I could do to your mind," she whispered, darkly before standing up and slamming the butt of her rifle against his head sending the man to the floor unconscious and bleeding from the head.

She looked at the other officers who defended Engineering. "Let's move. I'm sure we're needed elsewhere on the ship. At least three of you need to stay here and seal up Engineering until it's over."

Moving through the corridors with a small team behind her, Gami was a predator--using her betazoid abilities to home in on enemies. She had long ago trained her abilities to be used in combat. It was something many betazoids were reluctant to ever perform, but Gami reveled in it. Peering above the scope of her pulse rifle, she sensed three lifeforms. Listening to their thoughts, she recognized them as the intruders. Rounding the corner at a smooth, yet fast pace, she fired three shots, striking all three in the chest before they could react as they collapsed to the deck. She quickly did an empathic scan and sensing nothing, she was satisfied the three were dead before continuing.

My favorite visuals in your JP is o Commander Sthilg, plowing through the boarding party with his energy shield. "RRrrrrraaaaaaahhhh!!!!!" and the Colonel in the wake taking shots along the way. Made me laugh and I appreciate the visual imagery. LOL. The Sthilg Maneuver. LOL.

I also enjoyed the scene where S'hib comes in and is told his fianceé is preggers. All during a live firefight. Reminds me of the scene from Monty Python's "Meaning of Life" the Zulu War - where the officers are drinking coffee, shaving and reading the news as a battle rages. I enjoyed that. Thank you! LOL.

And then, a nice scene at the end which never disappoints with some payback, some weapons fire and some repulsed (dead) bad guys. That's wat we call on my side of the tracks, a happy ending. Thanks you, please write more.
