Mission: Season 6: Episode 4: Memory Lane
Location: Holodeck 1
Timeline: TBD
1604 words - 3.2 OF Standard Post Measure

Gary had gathered the teams together; the ship crew would be led by Miraj to train them on the ship controls. The Intel team would be under Colonel Naxea's leadership. He would have overall command.

"Okay." He began getting right to the point. "We have five days probably more like four to prepare for our mission. I cannot stress enough the importance of no slip ups. Our crewmates are depending on us. Lt. Derani will train the ship crew in the ship controls. She knows what she is talking about. Colonel Azhul will prepare the Intel team in collecting information vital to our cause as well as how to move without being seen. Stealth being the operative word. Listen to her. Her advice may just save your life. Teevs is our advisor. You would be well advised to listen to everything he says. He has knowledge on what we can expect. In addition, be prepared for long days of training."

Naxea looked at the team. Many she didn't know or had served with on away teams and therefore didn't know their strengths and weaknesses. "Training will include learning how to move swiftly and silently and refamiliarity with hand to hand, namely how to render a person unconscious quickly. Lieutenant Rin, as Chief Intelligence, you will be my advisor on this mission."

Rin nodded in acknowledgement.

Anna raises a hand

"Captain Taylor, Sir. Why do I need to know this? I'm a Lab Researcher, not a Combat Officer. My Phaser training was a bare minimum and i ranked low in score on my combat assesments in the academy."

She asks in a professional manner.

Gary looks at PaDD he has in his hand. "Lieutenant JG Dr. Anna-Lee McEntyre, Software Engineer. In answer to your question Lieutenant, you are here because of your talent with software. We are taking an alien ship on this mission. Lt. Derani and I spent time learning to fly it. We need someone of your caliber in case we run into a problem. As for your phaser score and hand to hand combat ability. We're not expecting you to be a marksman or an expert, but we are expecting that if need be you can defend yourself and your teammates." he finished his voice level calm even friendly.

As the officers spoke, Nicholas sat in the back, going over his gear. As an infiltration specialist, he was highly trained to melting into the environment of hostile territories. After checking his survival knife and harness, he noticed that his hands were shaking some. That's when the memories if the last mission he was on came back into his fore thoughts. The mission, how badly it had failed, and the hell he had gone through at the hands of his captors.

"This is going to be a highly fluid situation," Rin added to Gary's answer. "We need to work together, trust each other, know each other's strengths and weaknesses. We may need to get you in and out of places quickly and quietly, and if things go badly, everyone needs to be able watch their neighbor's back."

Rin stepped forward to better get everyone's attention. "We have evidence of numerous slaves originating in the Alpha and Beta quadrants. This is no longer about a single hijacked ship. This is about a force that has been traveling between our two galaxies as they see fit and kidnap our people in the process. This is not a rescue mission. This is an intelligence-gathering mission about a threat the Federation doesn't even know exists yet."

It was this time Myne's turns to clear her throat and raise her hand, looking at Gary while holding her PaDD tightly to her chest and looking a bit weary. "Erm... so... can I ask my role in this? Bridge crew I guess? What would that entail in general, broad speaking turns?"

"I will do what I can to help," said N'vok. "I assume I am here for cultural and scientific advice. Like several others, my combat skills are limited."

Gary smiled at Myne, "Well Myne, in general broad speaking terms. You will be on the alien ship I found some time ago and that Lt. Derani have learned to pilot. You will help monitor onboard systems, power flow and power distribution and if needed transfer power from one system to another."

Myne nodded and settled down. "Understood sir. Make sure the ship doesn't blow up on us or something else less fun."

"Excellent Myne. I knew you would understand." Gary replied with a smile to the younger officer.

"Are there any other questions?" Naxea asked, looking at each officer.

It was Teevs' turn to speak up. "How can I best advise your people, Captain Taylor? I believe you know as much about the Thaih'ea as I do."

Gary looked up from his PaDD at Teevs question. "As far as the Thaik'ea that may be so Teevs. However, you know this area of space so any information on safe locations or areas we can hide, to species we can trust and if need be, trade and acquire supplies from will be greatly appreciated."

Teevs nodded, not liking the idea of them even entering Thaih'ea territory but not vocalizing them more than he already had. Gary had a point; if this ship was intent on passing through this space to get home, they would need all the help they could get.

J'Air took her turn next. I'm a medic so I assume i'm here to patch any ouchies and wounds if such should occur? Will I need to learn any new skills as well, in case I'm not busy (hopefully)?" she asked.

"Never assume Doctor. You know what happens if you do. However, I will say your assessment of why you are here is correct." Gary answered pleasantly.

"Are there any particular preparations you need from science? Or should I just prepare as widely as possible," asked N'vok, making notes on his datapad.

"A good and valid question Mr. N'Vok." Gary replied to the science officer. "As we don't know what we may encounter on our mission. I think it is in the best interest for the survival of the teams and success of the mission that you prepare as widely as possible."

After finally getting his shaky hand under control, Nicholas spoke up. "What will me duties be, Dir?"

"I'll let the Colonel answer that Mr. Reece as you are assigned to her team, and she may already have a role in mind for you." Gary answered.

Naxea looked at the man in a black and grey uniform denoting Intel. She knew him as one of the Reece Brothers. 'I'd swear that the entire Reece Family is on board,' Naxea thought before she spoke. "Lieutenant Reece, you will our ears down there while the techs work on hacking into their systems, I want you to keep your ear to the ground, as they say, and inform me of any developments while we're there. See if we can identify any persons of interest."

Nicholas nodded crisply as he replied. "Aye, Ma'am. I won't let you down."

"Perhaps you could explain what everyone's roles are, rather than making them ask one by one, Sir," Rin muttered to Gary.

Gary gave Rin a sideways glance and whispered back to her. "I rather like them asking questions. It keeps my diplomatic skills from getting rusty." He quipped followed by a grin.

A more seconds passed, and Gary realized Rin had a point. He looked at the assembled group and addressed them. "I know many of you are wondering why you have been called here and what you are prepping for. The answer is simple. We are on an undercover Intel mission. As you know, we have entered the Thai'heans's area of space. We have also picked up transmissions of an auction and gladiatorial games at an enormous space station called Arena Station. We have seen images of Federation species as slaves. Our job is to collect information by infiltrating Arena Station. To help us cross this area of space as well as learn what we can about the Thai'heans. That is our primary goal. If it becomes clear we can rescue a few slaves, we will attempt to do so. However, I stress that rescue is not our primary mission."

Having been a prisoner to a hostil species recently, Nicholas didn't like the idea of leaving their UFP brethren in the hands of their oppressors. However, as he was merely a Lieutenant, he would stay silent with his disapproval. For now.

Naxea spoke up next. "As Captain Taylor said, this is strictly an Intel gathering mission with the chief goal of learning how these Thaih'ea travel such great distances with ease and if we can find a way to use that technology. I know the idea of the Thaih'ea having slaves makes you angry and want to rescue them, but we need to focus on the bigger picture of getting home. We are outnumbered and with the Elysium in it's current shape, easily outgunned. Stealth will be paramount. Take no hostile action unless as a last resort, especially phaser fire as that will draw attention to us."

As Naxea finished and there were no other questions from the assembled officers, Gary spoke up. "As there are no other questions, we'll begin training you for the upcoming mission."
