Mission: Season 6: Echoes of the Zynari
Location: Briefing Room
Timeline: MD 2 - 09h00
1630 words - 3.3 OF Standard Post Measure

Phoenix looked around at the assembled officers. "Okay so we have" here she waved a hand at the list showing on the screen of the briefing room. "A number of .. concerns." She chose her words carefully. "Anyone have anything to this list?"

“If you count reports of mild headaches, dizziness, odd feelings of not being alone, and other similar reports then you can add those in” Alicia sighed. “No sooner have I seen one person then someone else is reporting something, people are starting to think that they’re going crazy. Plus I’ve experienced it myself, a feeling of shivers down your spine, and like you’re being watched.” She momentarily shivered and twitched. “Sorry, emotions are pretty high right now it’s hard to shut it out.”

Gary sat and looked at the list and listened to Alicia as well in regard to the numerous 'mishaps' or as concerns as Phoenix called them. "It is far too extensive a list to be random chance. I would say it is a series of deliberate acts for what reason I am not sure as where they are meant to be malicious or pranks." He looked at Alicia, "I'm guessing you haven't sensed anything, What of Savar? Has he felt anything or seen any logic to these incidents?"

Alicia shrugged her shoulders, it was a habit of hers she tended to use too often. “I’m not sure, he hasn’t mentioned anything to me as yet.”

Andrinn let Alicia finish and said, "I know this might feel like nothing, as I brushed it off myself. But, more than once over the last few days, the lights down there in the Diplomatic wing of Deck Two have flickered more than once. When they do, I've felt a bit of a chill going down my spine, as though I'm being watched or something. Again, I thought nothing of it at the time because I just thought that Engineering might've been working on something."

"The lights are a lot like what we've been dealing with all over," Anna said. She looked over to Magnus. "I'm sure your people have been too. Power fluctuations, system resets, and we've been unable to localize the problem so far. The chill could just be a fluctuation in life support." Anna sounded like she was trying to convince herself of that last bit as much as her fellow officers.

“Now you mention the lights…” Alicia nodded in agreement. “The lights in my office have played up a time or two, I just figured it was a glitch that would remedy itself.”

"I doubt it's a glitch," Naxea spoke up from her position at the table. "Marine Country has also had flickering lights, which shouldn't happen as we have backup generators designed to kick on automatically once any disruption in power is detected. Not to mention that I've gotten the feeling of being watched as well." She recalled the feeling while in the shower last night.

"Unless the problem is not the actual power systems per se but in the systems we use to track their functioning, including those which trigger automatic backups in critical areas," Anna mused aloud, still thinking there might be some mundane, technical answer. "Captain, my people can run some higher level diagnostics, maybe coordinate with engineering in checking systems manually. Some things might need to be recalibrated but lights don't just flicker on their own. There's an error somewhere."

As the senior staff spoke the speakers in the briefing room suddenly flared to life and a song burst from them at full volume sending hands to ears. Problem was it was Klingon opera!

Phoenix cringed and called out "Avalon turn it off!" But now response.

Gary looked around the room as the Klingon music blared from the speakers. "I THINK WE ARE BEING SCREWED WITH!" He shouted over the music.

Sthilg blinked multiple times as the music roared into his ears. He had been having trouble sleeping which showed on his face and now with this. Letting out a slight the big gorn pulled himself up from his seat and strode over to the speakers. His artificial arm turned into several tendrils that shot into the speaker. With a sudden ctunk the sound switched off as the gorn withdrew his arm having unplugged the speaker from behind. " Sssorry i hate that one with a passsssion and i have a headache. " He muttered as he moved to take his seat. " D'ujessssss vurgusssh is a talentlessssss hack coasssting on his father'sss good name." He added as he collapsed into his seat with a thud.

Naxea could only grin at her friend's response and for his artificial arm as the ringing in her ears caused by the music subsided. "Thank you, Sthilg. Something is seriously wrong if Avalon didn't respond. "

As per usual, Max stood quietly, hardly saying a word. So far, it seemed as though everyone had said what she had planned to. But for her, the experience was slightly different. Though the Klingon opera was ear piercing, she was able to block it out, at least somewhat, thanks to her mental training.

Finally opting to speak up she droned, "This resembles an ancient Earth tradition, called Halloween. It is as if something is attempting to unnerve the crew."

She paused, then added, "I am not prone to being unnerved. The sensation of being watched is something I have experienced, as well. But I am certain it is more than it appears to be."

"I think I've heard of Halloween. Isn't that the Earth holiday where people dress up to scare one another sometime in the Earth month of October? I think my mom told me about it when she spent some time on Earth in the late 20th century, where she was learning about some of the customs of Humans back in the day," Andrinn asked, remembering some of the stories his mother would tell him about Humanity during the late 20th and early 21st century.

From his seat to Phoenix's left, Kyle groaned softly at the mention of a Halloween computer malfunction. "The last time the computer malfunctioned, in regards to Halloween, was last year, during a senior staff party, down on the holodeck. I was turned into a werewolf! almost ate..." His brow furrowed for a moment as the image of the young woman with bubblegum hair suddenly popped into his mind. "Miraj! Lieutenant Junior Grade Miraj!" He looked over at Phoenix. "Apologies, Ma'am...I just remembered who the Chief Flight Ops for Ely was, before Anna was put in charge. It was Miraj!" He has been trying to remember everyone who had seemed to dissapear, back when they were docked at the church station. Over the pasty couple of days, a few had start to resurface in his memory.

Phoenix frowned and then nodded. "I will look into it." She looked at the rest of the senior staff. "Check with your teams, work together, and someone reach out to the natives we have on board and find out what they know." As she finished speaking water poured down on the senior staff. Drenching them all.

Naxea looked at the ceiling as the water drenched her. 'This ship is cursed,' she thought before standing. "Well, I was going to take a shower later anyhow," she joked.

Kyle scowled as he glanced up at the ceiling. Their home was definitely bring messed with by someone or something. Had they been back home, he'd say it was Q, as he briefly remembered the hell he and the first crew of the Elysium had gone through at the hands of those evil beings.

Alicia sat silently cursing being soaked through, whoever or whatever was causing this might not have intended it to be more than a joke, but it was getting to silly proportions now. “This is getting silly now, something needs doing before someone gets hurt.”

Gary was quietly seething at being thoroughly drenched. It was high time to find out just what was going on and put a stop to it. He wiped the water from his eyes as he looked at Alicia. "I agree. Time to put a stop to this. Otherwise, someone will get hurt."

The water ceased as suddenly as it started. Phoenix pushed wet hair from her face. "Commander Rin, Commander Reece, reach out to Teevs as soon as you leave here. He might have some idea about this. This meeting is dismissed."

Rin nodded with a quick "Yes, ma'am," as she rode from her seat. Assuming the Commander was free, she intended to see Teevs immediately. Or at least as soon as she changed into a dry uniform.

"I can reach out to the A'jaine to see if they've ever encountered anything like this. Maybe there's something out there like the Q...maybe with a different letter or something? Maybe something like a Trulane type," Andrinn offered up, trying to shake the water off of his head and shivering for a brief moment as the water soaked all the way through his uniform.

Standing, after being dismissed, Naxea made her way towards the exit. All she could do was make sure her Marines stayed alert against malfunctions. She hoped Sle'anna was OK as S'hib was watching her at the moment. First thing was first, she would get changed into some dry clothes.

Gary stood. He was going to go his quarters, change into a dry uniform and check on LL and Cerese. Make sure they were both alright.

N'vok stood, ignoring the water dripping down from his hair, he checked that his datapad was undamaged. "We will see what we can deduce out from our working systems, I will have a report to you within the day."
