Mission: Season 5: Episode 3: CAPETOWN
Location: USS Elysium
1408 words - 2.8 OF Standard Post Measure

Vise clutched her head as the sound of a bridge in full panic mode echoed around her. From what she could get they were trying to get the ship internal scanners online. The only problem was parts of the ship didn't seem to be there.

Alicia sat for a moment before standing up in exasperation. “Alright that’s enough!!” She looked around clearly agitated. “We’ve been through hell and back together! Are we going to let this beat us?? Now quieten down and let the people think!!” She looked towards Garrett. “Sorry Captain, I couldn’t sit and listen to that any longer.”

Jess emerged onto the bridge wearing a very different, twenty-third century uniform. "Captain. We got major problems on this ship. Parts of our ship, including our crew, and including my uniform, are becoming twenty-third century versions of ourselves."

"So I see Commander." Garrett replied and looked at the others as well. "Question is how do we fix it?"

Kaden looked down at the sharp black suit he wore sighing in relief. "Can we fix it before I wind up wearing something tacky and uh, colorful that is not my style?"

A minute afterwards, Marine Captain Natacha Patani stepped off the turbolift. The first thing she did was tug at the hem of her uniform. In her mind, there wasn't that much of it. Natacha wasn't an overly modest woman, but she felt that a proper uniform shouldn't expose most of her legs, and it definitely shouldn't make her feel that her undergarments were in danger of being exposed at any moment. The dress also seemed to overemphasize the dimensions of her chest, and even gave a hint of cleavage.

Natacha had no idea how a Marine was supposed to operate in this 'uniform.' The ridiculous "big hair" bun her hair was in made Natacha feel even more off-balance.

Feeling as if all eyes on the bridge were on her, Natacha announced dryly, "There have been some changes in Marine Country."

Vise looked round from her station at the marine captain. Stepping past the captain who was blocking her view showing she was clad in the same uniform only in medical blue. " Your not alone captain. Changes like this have been happening all over the ship."

"I've lost communications with the Marines down on the planet," Natacha added, giving the hem of her dress another tug downward. "Before...whatever...hit Marine Country and disappeared all our communications equipment, Gunnery Sergeant Nenaa had established contact with an artificial intelligence identifying itself as a Progenitor artifact. Do you still have contact with the landing party on the bridge?"

"Alright people enough of comparing notes, let's get to figuring out what we can do to reverse the situation." Garrett spoke up.

"With respect, Captain," Natacha replied in a neutral tone as she drew herself to attention (and tried not to feel ridiculous in doing so in her present uniform), "I didn't report to the bridge to 'compare notes.' I came to see if we still had contact with the landing parties." The Marine paused before she added, "The change in Marine Country took place shortly after the discovery of a Progenitor artifact. Perhaps the two events are related? In which case, Captain, I would recommend immediate contact with the away team that discovered the artifact."

" We lost long-range comms after the first anomaly hit us. We still have scanners." The Trill doctor said as she hurried back to her station. How did people move in this getup. Her hands ran over the systems though the look on her face wasn't a good one. " We can detect most of the city team. I'm guessing the rest are still in the hospital. The last we heard from Sthilg's team was from the pilots staying with the runabouts. They'd lost contact with Sthilg's team who were heading to the Capetown's crash sight."

Garrett looked the marine Major,, "As you just heard we can detect most the city team. However your suggestion is a valid one. Contact the team that discovered the artifact and let them know what is happening here on the ship."

Natacha gave a curt nod and was about to assume a parade rest stance, but then decided against it. No reason to do something that would make the hem of her uniform rise up more than necessary

Kaden took note of Natacha's slight disposition and started to snicker.

Lt. Victor Barclay de Tolly pressed his communication badge, “Engineering here. What is going on and how can we help?”

" Lieutenant this is Vise on the bridge. We have multiple parts of the ship seemingly flipping back in time to kirk's era. Damage response teams are responding we need a full report on what systems even still work." Vise said from her consol which was seemingly the only one still working.

Kaden shouted looking down at his clothes as they were no longer his sharp sleek black suit but something he dreaded colorful and tacky. "Jesus Christ!"

Garrett's combadge suddenly beeped. "Captain Lovejoy, this Commander T'Kara."

Garrett replied instantly, "Go ahead Commander." As he looked at the others as he waited to hear T'Kara's report.

Tag Any

"Captain. I've determined that parts of the Elysium are indeed in flux with two very different space-time continuums. This is an extremely dangerous situation. We need to move the Elysium away from these anomalies." T'Kara noted in her logical tone.

Tonya and Alice were in 10 Forward. All of a sudden, they were wearing uniforms with mini skirts and black nylon stockings. Everyone else in the lounge clothes were changed as well.

“What the?,” Tonya said surprised.

Alice hearing the chatter said to Tonya, “We better stay where we are.”

Napoleon in Engineering said to Victor, “Chief, good news is the virus is gone. Bad news is part of the Warp Corp is outdated.”

“Bridge,” Victor spoke, “Engineering is caught in the flux.”

T'Kara took in the information. "Lieutenant de Tolly. Captain Lovejoy. This situation were in is potentially catastrophic. It is logical to assume the source of these disturbances would be the planet below. Therefore we need to minimize the damage to the Elysium. I recommend using the shield generators to generate anti-chonotons. It may minimize the temporal disruption."

The Chief Science Officer was right. Victor replied, “Engineering will comply. And by the way, all of the Engineering Personnel except I are in uniforms from a hundred thirty years ago.”

Back on the bridge, Vise heard the words and an idea flowed into her head. " Enegenring could you lay the changes on a blueprint of the original constitution Elysium? " She said thanking her third host had been a ship nut.

Napoleon responded, “I am sending it your way. Glad we were taught at the Academy the History of Engineering in Starfleet.”

T'Kara began typing on her console. "Captain. I'm going to prepare a messenger probe to deliver a message to our away teams. Whatever is happening to our ship, it is not up here, but down there. If we can inform our teams of our situation, they may be able to follow it to its source."

Natacha's ears perked up at the idea of the messenger probe. Not that there was anything she could do to contributed to the situation right, except keep quiet and keep out of the way. Still, Natacha was happy that something was being done.

Vise gave a weak smile of satisfaction at the hologram that poped up on her consol. " Well, that explains part of what's happening. It looks like whatever causing this disruption is trying to swap the ship out with the original Elysium." The trill said as she looked at the hologram which was showing all the changes matching up with the ancient constitution class vessel."

" If we......" she began before another shockwave hit the ship as the whole ship seemed to shake as if it was about to buckle and crumple into it's past self.

And as quickly as it had begun it ended.

Before anyone could say anything the com crackled into life.

" Nightssshadow to Elysssium are comsss have just come back online. What did you do?" Came the gorn captain.

"I wish I knew." Gary replied, "It seems our ship is in a state of temporal flux and your close proximity to us could affect your ship as well."

" We will keep you informed if we encounter any changesss. Nightssshadow out."
