Mission: Season 5: Interlude: Darkness Abounds
Location: Holodeck 1, Deck 3
Timeline: MD 3 13h00 - 20/03/2397
1676 words - 3.4 OF Standard Post Measure

Lily had activated a program in the holodeck. It was a large room with chairs scattered around a large hologram table. She looked up as her team and the Officers who had volunteered flow into the holodeck.

Once everyone was seated, she stepped up to the table. "For those who do not know, I am Lily Kass. And you have all volunteered to join my band of Merry men, as we pull the wool over the eyes of our quarry. The rest of your fellow crew are either evacuating with the civilians or will be locked down in the cargo bay awaiting our signal to assist with taking back the ship. You will be divided up between three areas, and my team will assist you all." She paused and said "Captain Lovejoy do you have anything to add?"

Garrett nodded, "Thank you Miss Kass." He looked at the assembled group. "You have as Miss Kass stated volunteered to help her and her team captured a corrupt Federation Admiral. You are to follow her and her team's instructions to the letter."

Sasha sat near where Lily stood before the table, her eyes scanning those of the Elysium's crew that braved to join their team.

Jax stood behind, and to the left of Lily, still silent, arms still crossed over his broad chest. His steady gaze moved over the collected officers and crew of the Elysium. If their plan had any chance of succeeding, a big part of the burden would fall to these men and women.

Myne perked up as she was tapping mindlessly on her PaDD, or appearing to tap mindless on the too old, custom device. "Sooooooooooooo, we are going with taking over the bridge, battle bridge and engineering?" She used one hand to make air quotes when she used the words 'taking over'.

Lily nodded. "Bridge, Medical and Engineering are our main targets" She confirmed.

Alicia sat quietly listening to the conversation, she'd chosen to do this to protect her family and as such had asked her beloved husband Savar to accompany their children Connor and N'Vea aboard the shuttles. No doubt she'd find out what her part would be soon enough.

Rin waited to hear what Kass had to say. She had one solid question, but chose to hold onto it until Kass had put forth her plan.

T'Kara had a question as well. How does one starfleet admiral gain so much infamy and treachery, That they need this cloak and dagger to remove him? She kept it silent for the time being, these questions were best asked in private.

T'las looked at each officer. She had more joined this group out of curiosity than anything else. The plan for the decoy in of itself was sound, yet she couldn't help but to be amused at the idea that a Starfleet Admiral would be so corrupt. So this reinforced her idea that Starfleet was not as perfect as they led other cultures to believe. If this was the Watraii, the ship's captain would face the corrupt admiral in open battle and kill the offending officer outright or at very least, take him prisoner only to be made an example of by public execution.

Gami tilted her head at the mention of the three main targets. "I take it all damage to these areas will be simulated?"

"Yes. I am not going to ask that this ship be damaged in real. We will need it to be at full strength." Kass Replied

She turned to her group and divided them. There was only one of them missing, the teenager who had come with them.

"Morris, T'aev and Saadeha will be in Engineering." The Deltan Male and Two Romulans nodded. "Kara, Mira and Sorrel, will be in Medical." Here she indicated a Human female, the trill and the Bajoran-Cardassian Female. "Anna and Goreth will be leading patrols through the ship, and 'guarding' the crew who are in the cargo bays" She indicated the last human female and the Andorian. "S'Kar, Jax and myself will be on the bridge."
Here the hand waved to the Vulcan and XB orion who seemed to loom over Kass's shoulder. "So you all have a choice which group you choose. I know it may seem like fun but this is going to be very dangerous."

Alicia looked towards Lily, she couldn’t help but feel a familiarity with the woman but she didn’t know why. “I’ll volunteer to be on the bridge, it’s where I usually am between my Counselling duties. Unless you want me anywhere else?”

"I will take Engineering as it's close to Marine Country," Gami replied with a shrug and slight grin. This Kass may not think it was fun however she did.

T'las looked at the Betazoid Marine as she spoke and then turned her attention to the woman called Kass. She seethed at the two Romulans, despite there currently being a fragile cease fire between their two people, she wanted nothing to do with them. "I will volunteer for the Bridge."

M'Tuuri sat quietly, gently tapping her clawed digits against the table with rhymic fashion, stopping briefly to talk before continuing to tap idly away.

"I'm mostly sssituated in the intelligence blissster under the bridge, but I am an infiltration spurrcialist, so put me wherever you need." She yawned with her usual disinterest.

"I also volunteer for the bridge," Rin said. After a moment, she added, "Shall we concoct a brief rundown on how the ship was taken and why we specifically decided to mutiny? Nothing elaborate. People get tripped up in details, but if they ask, we should have a general storyline in mind."

"Ma'am?" Jax suddenly spoke to Lily, his deep voice hanging heavy in the room. "May I?"

Lily nodded and stepped to the side for him.

Jax nodded respectfully to Lily, then stepped forward. "Ladies, Gentleman, I have heard that there's an old Human axiom, which states, No plan of attack ever survives the first encounter with the enemy." He paused to let that sink in. "That being said, our enemy knows the playbook we will use to capture him and tear down his house of cards. So, that is why we are here, to help write a new playbook. You want a general storyline? Go with what you know. Your former commanding officer, a Captain Phoenix Lalor, was arrested, tried and convicted of treasonous actions. That is what you have all veen told. The woman who replaced her, Captain Carrington, was a tyrant that caused further dissent among you and your cremated, a few even leaving the ship after getting into loud, vocal disagreements with both her and Captain Garrett. This is what you know. Later, Captain Carrington, along with several of your shipmates, were brutally murdered by a genetic psychopath. This is also something you know." He took a breath to allow his words to stir everyone's feelings up.

"Now, with all of that in mind, it wouldn't be hard to believe that there are members of this crew, especially those on the senior staff, who are now feeling a bit disillusioned with Starfleet as a whole, the Admiralty in particular. Use that animosity inside of you, to build your own narrative as to why you decided to join us in capturing this vessel. No one's story is going to be exactly the same, simply because, well, we are not Borg. We are individuals, complete with our own set of morals and desires. And each if you has a reason, if you take the time to look deep inside, to be pissed off!" He stepped back, giving the floor back to his Captain.

Rin raised an eyebrow in response, with an expression that might be read as Really?, a gesture more overt than her secretive glances toward Jax during the first briefing. He was trying too hard to sell his disguise, in her estimation. I know, the look said. And you know I know.

"Tomorrow morning the Evacuation of non essential personnel and civilians will begin, We then have just under 2 days to get to the rendezvous point. All going well and all finished we should be back with the Civilians 2 days after that." Lily said.

"Actually, ma'am, we have a QSD. I can get us from DS9 to the Romulan Neutral Zone in around an hour. And from DS5 to Bre'el in an afternoon. Travel time isn't much of a factor anymore. And since they don't have warp, we're leaving the drift boats 46 months from the nearest star system; we should hurry back. There's no guarantee anyone will get to them before we can." Growing up on a salvage vessel, Miraj had been made very much aware of how vast space really was, and what happened to people stranded without warp drives, especially in the space between stars. "We should aim to be back with them much sooner."

"Good in regards to returning to them. But even if we get to the rendezvous sooner, he wont be there until the time specified. If we use your.. QSD, was it? to get there, we may be able to set up more traps."
