Part of the captain's plan to encourage crew interaction was to create meet and greets for all levels of staff. And this was for Junior officers, officers who held the rank of Lieutenant or lower who were not assistant chiefs or chief of departments. It also included enlisted personnel.

Everyone was summoned into the Junior officer Mess Hall by Avalon.

Heather looked at her husband as they made their way to the junior officer’s mess hall. “I have no idea why it is I feel so nervous about this! It’s just a meet and greet session and yet I’ve got butterflies!”

Fernando squeezed Heather's hand softly, stopping just short of the junior officer's mess. He kissed her cheek softly. "It is because you wish to make a good impression Heather and I love you for it."

Heather smiled warmly. “Let’s get in there.”

"A capital idea Heather, lets go!" Fernando answered with a grin.

M'Tuuri watched the two lovers enter the Mess Hall, intrigued by their scents mixing in the air. "This will be a complete waste of time." She mused, padding inside a social event she had no desire to be part of.

William Holt stopped just short of entering the mess hall. He sighed and looked up at the roof. Taking his eyes from the Padd he was reading, pausing for just a moment to reflect on why he was here. Shaking his head, he continued to walk as the doors opened and he entered. ~I should have been born a vulcan...~ He tithed to himself, as he moved to a corner table, far away from anyone and everyone to sit and read. He had no intention of getting involved in whatever this play-date was, with the rest of the crew. He just wanted to be left alone, the captain, and Lieutenant Hoffman, were making his simple wish, an impossibility. It was starting to grate on his nerves.

M'Tuuri watched the next guest arrive with curiosity, buried in his PADD as he sat down at a table. ~Well... since I'm here I might as well have some fun.~ M'Tuuri smiled as she silently approached Lieutenant Holt. "Whatcha reading?" She purred, sitting down next to him on the otherwise large and empty table.

Holt looked up, for the briefest of moments, to register whoever just spoke to him. He stared for a moment, then glanced back to his Padd. "It's nothing special, an old book about cosmology. Rather unintruiging, I assure you." He said, rather bluntly. "Who are you, anyway?" He asked.

"I'm no one ssspecial, an old cat curious about cosmology. Rrrather Intriguing though, I assure you." She quipped, resting her small chin upon her paws delicately. "Who are you?" She purred back, her tail fluttering behind her slowly.

Holt wasn't the kind of person to "get along" with anyone. However, he did find m'tuuri, to be rather attractive. He thought for just a moment, he felt his cheeks burning a little. "Lieutenant William Holt, Engineer." He paused and cleared his throat. Looking her in the eyes. "I assure you, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said sincerely, emphasizing the last word with a deep tone.

M'Tuuri grinned as his cheeks glowed with warmth, lifting her head up slightly as she flaunted the features of her slender frame. "It'sss nice to meet you too Lieutenant," She purred, sliding her paws along the table and stretching her shoulders. "I'm M'Tuuri, purrt of C.D.I.D..."

Holt couldn't help but be intrigued, he placed his Padd down onto the table, and clasped both hands infront of him calmly. "So, are you here collecting intelligence on me? It's no secret that I'm not exactly well liked onboard." He mentioned, half meaning it as a warning, the other half as a simple fact.

"No..." She purred, sitting back up in her seat. "But I figurrred the best purrlace to be so nobody talks to me, would be... with you." She grinned, showing off her fangs as her narrow slits widened to encompass the entirety of her eyes. "So... rrread your book, and we will both get what we want." She finished, her smile vanishing in an instant as she began licking her hand, still staring at Holt. "Purrlay along... you might get lucky later."

William raised an eyebrow. He thought it best to follow her suggestion. He picked his Padd back up to continue reading his book. "Yes, ma'am" He whispered.

Olivia had finished up a couple reports not to long ago and since she had the time, she headed to the meet and greet. Walking into the lounge Olivia looked around and spotted M'Tuuri having a bit of fun with Lt Holt. Smiling a bit, Olivia headed further into the lounge checking things out even more.

Moxton arrived at the door to the meeting, he stopped and thought about it. *Ach go ta hell the lot of ya*, he thought as he turned and left for his cabin.

Heather looked at Fernando in surprise, she wasn’t expecting anyone to arrive, turn and leave. She looked at Fernando. “Give me a minute?” She had no idea why she was doing it but she quickly followed the Lieutenant to talk him into coming back. “Lieutenant! Hold on a moment.”

Roger heard a woman's voice calling him, he stopped and turned round. "And just what do ye want lassie?"

“To be honest, I don’t have a clue!” Heather smiled. “I’ve never witnessed anyone walk into and out of a get together as fast as you just did, I guess I figured I’d see if you were alright?”

Moxton smiled, "I suggest ye head back lassie, I'm no exactly flavour o' the month". Roger looked into the room, "I have things ta dae, so if you don't mind". Moxton turned and left.

Heather could have given chase but she didn’t even know Moxton, although she would make a point of seeing if she could help another time. Right now she had to get back to Fernando. “I’ll see you again Lieutenant.” With that she headed back to the get together, smiling as she walked back to Fernando. “Sorry I thought I’d see if I could help.”

"I know Heather but some people just don't want help. However..." He kissed her cheek. "I love you for trying to help."

“That’s what I do Imzadi” Heather smiled as she kissed her husband on the cheek.

"And quite well, might I add." Fernando quipped.

Ensign T'Kek entered, dressed in off duty casuals consisting of grey pants, black boots, black leather jacket and a white t-shirt. "Greetings," he said as he entered.

Sami entered behind T'Kek, moving around him after he stopped, "Excuse me, Ensign." She said politely, though a part of her was wondering when she would begin at the Academy and if Cdr. Taylor could deliver on his pledge to bring her in as a third year, if he could, she was eighteen months, two years max, from going Ens. T'Kek in the upper class.

Nevada slowly slunk keeping mostly to herself, a Battered and worn Data PADD clasped tightly in her hands, her gaze rarely leaving the screen as she found herself leaning up against the bulkhead on the far corner of the Mess.

Lunara hurried into the lounge, not wanting to be later than she already was. Her counseling session had gone longer than scheduled, but she was finally able to make it to the gathering.

Lieutenant Scott Gregory arrived next. He felt like a fish out of water as he looked around nervously. He had only recently arrived aboard the Elysium and as such hadn't gotten around to meeting it's crew. "Its just a meet and greet." He said to himself as he walked into the mess hall and saw others already there.

Like Lunara,Tate's session had run long so she arrived at the mess hall later than planned, but as she entered, she was glad to see a good number of people had arrived and were already mingling and chatting. As always, there were a few people staying in the back of the room, but hopefully, they would be drawn out either by Tate or someone else. She saw Lunara enter hurriedly and was making her way over when she spotted a new face and approached. "Hello, I'm Tate Sullivan. Glad you could make it."

Scott turned at the new voice and saw the smiling face of Tate Sullivan "Oh! Hello and thank you for the nice welcome. It is a pleasure to meet you Tate. I'm Scott Gregory. What do you aboard the Elysium?"

"Hm?" Lunara turned around and saw the two of them. "Oh, hello there! It's nice to meet you both!"

"Oh hello!" Scott replied with a grin, "I was just introducing myself to Tate. I'm Scott Gregory and you are?"

"Lunara Hol! It's nice to meet you." She extended a hand with a smile. "I'm one of the counselors onboard."

Scott shook the offered hand, "A pleasure to meet you Lunara. A counselor? You say? I'm in Operations."

"It seems you're surrounded by them," Tate replied good-naturedly. "I'm a counselor as well. It's a pleasure to meet another person who deals with helping and managing people as a regular part of their job."

Scott laughed at Tate's observation. "Your a counselor as well? That is very interesting." He observed taking an instant liking to both Tate and Lunara. "And yes it is nice to meet other people that help others in doing their job or just taking care of normal activities."

Lunara smiled at Tate. "It's nice to meet you too! I'm surprised we haven't seen each other before." She looked at Scott. "Ops, huh? What do you do?"

"I'm a load management and power distribution specialist. I see that all the systems have enough power and in times of emergencies can transfer power without overloading the systems." Scott explained.

[[ATTENTION ALL HANDS.]] Holographic images of Avalon appeared around the ship and on Screens.

[[The USS Elysium is set to depart Starbase 1 at 15h00. All crew should report to their duty stations for departure by 14h45. All Civilians should be at their assigned locations for departure. That is all]]

Holt looked up from his Book, then looked at M'tuuri. "Looks like our little break is over. See you later?" He asked, standing from the table.

"Purrhaps." M'Tuuri purred, making no effort to move despite the announcement.
