Silver Book

Replacing the Golden Scroll award, we are now having the Silver book award.

Is awarded monthly to the writer/s of posts that have been of quality and shows their characters and the story to the best advantage. NOT to be confused with the Library Excellence award from OF. This award is for Elysium players only. The posts have to be of good quality, with minimal grammar and spelling errors. They do not need to advance the overall plot and can be what are termed filler posts. They must however be over 500 words long if a solo post and over 1000 words if a joint post.

Category: In character
Awarded: 78 times

I have had the pleasure of knowing and writing with this writer for several years. In that time, he has shown, time and again, that his level of creativity and sheer devotion to the idea of the make-believe world that we all come here to enjoy, is unending.

The solo post that I have chosen to use for this award nomination is "Season 6: Episode 2: Survival - Interrupting the Silence".

One can't help but be drawn into the emotion that Sam was feeling here.

Beautiful writing, my friend!

For the JP, A Mystery to Solve? as J'air she delivers a solid and creative look at her character in the unusual situation of trying to document a new animal species and the troubles incurred. It is creative and engaging and most of all, enjoyable to read.

While his posts always entertain, his latest, "Sunrise - The First Day", is especially enjoyable. I also thought it was a touching dedication to the character's friends and shipmates, to name soany locations after them, each with a fitting description to match whom was being honored.

Well Done, Sir!

For the scouting trilogy, creative writing and touching reasons behind the naming of points of interest. They were a pleasure to read.
Lieutenant Myne Redal
Thu Feb 23rd, 2023 @ 8:55am
For the post "Tetakutai Beach" and her creativity. The post went in a different direction than had been planned and the character stayed with the twists and turns. Nominated for staying with the plot twists and turns even though they ended up differently than the original ideas. Thank you Myne.
Harper o’Leary
Thu Feb 23rd, 2023 @ 8:54am
Nominated for the post "Last Wish". An intense, shorter post focused on a scene between a medic, a pregnant and dying Ensign and the main character Harper O'Leary. Spelling is great, no errors, sentences are good,, grammatically sound so the reading of this post is not distracting. One can tell that the author carefully crafted this work. The scene is tender and moving and is set against the backdrop of a damaged corridor on a damaged starship. There, Harper encounters a dying mother and has to make a tough decision to save the baby. The author sets this sad, terrible but necessary decision against a lullaby. That effect focuses and amplifies the mother/daughter effect and the loss that we know is coming. It provides a stillness as terrible as it is, in the midst of the catastrophe. It shows us that a lot can be accomplished in the hands of a skilled writer. I was very moved. I'm not crying; you're crying!
Lieutenant JG Miraj Derani

Tue Aug 4th, 2020 @ 6:57pm
For "Recovery and Renewal" which painted Col. Kerri Tate, the sexy, hard ass spy and loyal right paw to the deadly Wolf Queen, in a whole other light. And for introducing Baby Girl Blue to a ready audience. Thank you, Drea!

For his turn as Santa in Christmas Celebration Part 2, there is nothing cuter than when a guy like Gary Taylor turns off 007 for a second to be Santa for the cutest character on the ship! My ovaries just exploded here!
Captain Gary Taylor
Sat Jan 4th, 2020 @ 10:34am
Once again this writer has collaborated with many others and produced a lot of joint posts, he sets his stall out and then delivers a diamond in words. I think he deserves this award for the volume he produces, and the number of posts he gets involved in.

Commander Lia Holmes, aka Ayesha
Lieutenant JG Gallia Norris
Wed Dec 25th, 2019 @ 6:51am
For "Tayalas the Explorer" where she writes Tayalas, the Elysium's answer to Baby Yoda, with such skill to show the child's wonder and emotional depth. Sometimes a girl just really wants a cookie.
Lieutenant Colonel Azhul Naxea
Wed Dec 25th, 2019 @ 6:50am
For "Tayalas the Explorer" watching the gruff Marine going on a rescue mission for the baby she loves who had just been looking for a Horsey ride and a cookie. Watching them communicate was possibly the cutest thing we'll see here for a good while.
Lieutenant Commander S'hib
Sun Sep 15th, 2019 @ 7:53pm
I haven't written with this writer very much, and that is to my depredation. He is a very obliging writer and is easy to follow. In the Joint Post "Getting Re-acquainted", he shows that his understanding of another's problems can be subtle. For this and my lack of engaging with this writer, I request this ward.

Commander Lia Holmes
aka Ayesha

Wed Sep 4th, 2019 @ 8:35pm
For "Archeology of a Sort and Murder Most Foul."

How to even begin to describe the chain of events that created this post. Drea looks at me and says "We're doing a post." then takes the laptop from me and mere seconds later we've got Kerri Tate on Cortic getting knifed by someone impersonating her brother for a shadowy organization we still don't know. Edge of your seat stuff that left me surprised even though I was actually in the post!
Lieutenant JG Gallia Norris
Mon Aug 12th, 2019 @ 3:02pm
For the post "Coming Home and Other Huge Mistakes." Once again I find myself compelled to put my best friend and her seemingly infinite talents over. We've had some serious jackasses appear in our adventures: Lovejoy, Holt, Albright, and now Ricky Justice. Nothing is so satisfying as watching one of them get their comeuppance and Gabby's duo of Gallia and Sami owned the arrogant little shit. A joy to read.
Lieutenant JG Gallia Norris
Mon Aug 12th, 2019 @ 3:02pm

For her post "Coming Home and Other Huge Mistakes." It shows this writers incredible talents to weave a story that is wonderful as this.
It shows friendship in it's highest and best form and what it's like to come home and face the family. Outstanding job.
Lieutenant Commander Aurelia Taylor
Mon Aug 12th, 2019 @ 6:41am

explosive situation with cool aplomb and the skill of a veteran diplomat.

Commander Gary Taylor.

Captain Garrett Lovejoy [ Taylor]
Tue May 21st, 2019 @ 5:12am
For his post with CPO Liorga, who was awarded this same ribbon for her restraint, which she never would've gotten to use without Lovejoy pushing her buttons. I both love writing with this character and find him a joy to read.

Mon May 20th, 2019 @ 6:12am

Chief Liorga showed remarkable restraint in dealing with Commander Lovejoy when discussing a personal issue. Along with the fact she
was a great foil and gave as good as she got in their war of words.
Commodore Phoenix Lalor-Richardson
Mon May 20th, 2019 @ 6:12am

Her dealing with Commander Lovejoy was what you would expect from a Captain. It was clear and concise. Firm and direct. She held her ground
