As the guests all made their way to their seats, Mattias, followed by Tim and Malakai, moved up to their positions at the small alter at the front of the small outdoor chapel. The look on Mattias's face was a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

Tim saw Matt's nervousness and decided to take advantage of it. "Matt." He whispered standing at his best friend's shoulder. "Want a Valium, to calm you down?" He teased.

Mattias gave his best friend a slanted look and replied quietly. "What I need to calm down, you certainly can't give me." He smirked slightly as he finished speaking.

Victor, Tonya, their children Lara and Vick walked in. Tonya sighed as she felt tears already as the memories of four weddings which never happen brought her both happiness and sadness.

“Tonya,” Victor reaching for her hand, “Are you okay?”

“Oh I just cry at weddings,” she replied so not emphasize how she really felt. “We need to elope.”

“Agreed,” Victor replied with a kiss upon her moist lips.

“You two need to get a room,” Lara says poking her father.

All four of them giggle as they all four sat.

Naxea moved to sit down that allowed easy access to the aisle as she and the select members of the Marine Guard would be required to take their positions once the ceremony was over. S'hib was with her, followed by the Priestess and T'han.

"This is all very formal isn't it..." S'hib asked curiously as he sat down, his long legs contorting to fit within the confines of the isle, ignoring the Priestess as she muttered something in Sequus under her breath while she did the same.

"It's like being at my first senior staff meeting all over again." He added as he looked around.

"Just relax," she grinned at him as she reached out and held his hand.

At another table towards the rear, T'Kek sat down as the table appeared be empty, at least for the time being. This was the first wedding he had attended and so far, it was rather interesting observing the customs on display thus far.

Samuel and Adelaide took their seats, Sam was on the aisle. After Adelle sat down, so did Sam. He asked her, "You ain't gonna cry...right?" He looked at her and she looked back, "Maybe? I don't know. Why?" she asked. "I don't understand why people have to cry at weddings? It's supposed to be a 'happy time right'? Besides, if there are any tears it ought to be from the guy's friends and mates. We're the ones losing a friend." Adelle looked at him, "What are you on about Lieutenant?" He continued, "The friends, we're the ones losing our friend. Never to be seen again as he was. He's tamed, owned, controlled now." She gave him a look. "Well, the bride is giving up some of her friends too." Sam shook his head, "No...no...there's all those lunches, tea time, book clubs, after school projects, birthdays and sleepovers. The bride makes more in this transaction than the guy does....that's all I'm saying." Adelle shook her head, "I'm pretty sure its 50/50 mister." Sam got a grin on his face in disbelief, "Oh..ohh..ohhh...yeah. Suuure. When I was a kid and my Mom saw something on the home and garden channel; that gave her all kinds of ideas about what my old man could be doing. And I remember they had a shouting match when my Mom suggested that we should make the house more 'welcoming'. And, any guy will back me up on this - we don't want our house or our quarters more 'welcoming'. Hell nah. If they had 'moat and mortar' channel I could watch that all day." She listened and narrowed her eyes.

"Do you hear yourself when you speak?" Sam had been keeping it together until she had caught on and a smile, a happy grin broke across his face, "MMmmm...I fade in and out." Adele laughed, "Just...do a good job so that they can have good memories. And - don't spoil the holo-recording?" Sam said as he looked around, "No promises."

Andrinn walked into the wedding next and took a seat near the back of the wedding venue. He knew that he was the newest member of the crew, so he wanted to allow anyone that knew the Captain better to sit closer to the event to capture all the wonderful memories that he was sure was to happen.

"Hey? C'mon up and sit with us? Good seats, nice view. There's a seat for you?" Sam had seen Andrinn take a seat in the back. He first thought about just whistling loudly. Adelle had seen his hands going to his mouth and she stopped him. So, he was here, startling the Consul.

Andrinn finally relented and got up from the seat that he originally sat down on and followed Sam over to him and his date for the wedding. He sat on the end and smiled at the date. "How long have you two been dating?" Andrinn asked her and Sam, trying to break away from his nervousness.

Adelle look at Sam and Sam looked at her and then they both looked at Andrinn. Sam spoke first, "Oh...we're not. Y'know. Dating. This is just..." Adelle said, "Oh no, we're not...this is just. The Lieutenant asked me if I would come along to the wedding. Be his plus one you know." Then she said, "He wanted someone to come and cry with him at the wedding. He didn't want to be the only one in tears of joy for the happy couple." Behind her, Sam had his hand on this throat in mock choking and he rolled his eyes like he was dead. He smiled when she looked at him. Adelle asked, "But Consul Orin, are you here alone sir? I find that hard to believe."

Looking over at the Lieutenant, Orin hid away a few snickers before Orin replied, "Was someone feeling a bit emotional over a few wedding bells? Need a friend for a shoulder?"

Sam recovered from his mock choking session and said, "Weddings are funerals with cake."

Adele laughed at just his...directness and absurdity, "They are not! You know what I think?" Sam said, "What?" Adelle elbowed Andrinn lightly to play along and said, "I...think...you're just jealous!" To which Woolheater rolled his eyes. "Yeah, roll your eyes and deny it all the same. You're just a big, lonely, teddy bear inside that wants a hug." Sam looked at them both, "I am so not."

Adele shushed him with, "Shush! Ceremony is starting. SHUUSH! Lie to us later." Sam looked to Andrinn for help.

Nudging the both of them, Andrinn replied, "I think someone just didn't want to get caught out in public crying like a finteck beast from Rinax IV. As for the wedding, I'm glad it's finally starting."

Imik and Lia stood by the door, Lia now scanned those around her to see if Gary had arrived. "Imik, do you see my husband anywhere?" Turning, Imik shook her head. "At this time I must reply with a negative response." The Security Chief glanced at the floor, "Where the hell is he? He said he would be here."

Taking their seats Alicia smiled as she sat down with Savar, Connor, N’Vea, and her mother Deanna. Saving a space for Sthilg as well once his official duties were done. “This is so lovely.”

"You are quite correct Deanna. It is a most pleasing use of colors." Savar replied as he bounced Connor gently on his knee.

“It’s beautiful” Alicia grinned as she looked towards Connor, who was giggling at being bounced on Savar’s knee. N’Vea was wide eyed as she looked up into Alicia's eyes, taking in her mother’s expressions and trying to copy them.

Taking a seat behind Alicia, Heather smiled warmly as she and Fernando settled down with baby Cody.

Fernando took Cody from Heather and whispered into the boy's ear, causing him to gurgle happily.

“Just what are you promising our son this time?” Heather grinned as she looked at Fernando.

Fernando grinned at Heather, "Oh, just promising Cody a special night of ice cream and daddy reading him his favorite bedtime story."

Heather couldn’t help but grin. “You do realise Cody is just a baby? He’s not old enough for solids yet, let alone ice cream! And how on Earth do you know what his favourite bedtime story is?”

"Of course, I know it, Heather. Ice cream isn't solid." Fernando argued playfully. "As for his favorite book, it's whatever story I read him," He said smiling broadly.

Heather grinned. “I knew you’d make a wonderful father Imzadi.”

Back in their seats, Hendor looked to his mother and said, "Mama? If it's okay with Sky's Aunt, may I sit back with her?"

Leilani looked at George before looking back at Hendor. “Of course you can sweetheart. Be good okay?”

Hendor smiled brightly at his mother. He then carefully got down from his seat and moved to the row behind, careful not to mess up the nice suit that his parents gave him to wear.

As their son moved, George grinned at his wife. You still think he hasn't chosen who to give his heart to, Imzadi?

I think he has for now Imzadi Leilani smiled. but we both know it’s not just Hendor that has to approve.

George smiled and nodded. His wife was always the more reasonable of the two of them. He simply wanted their son to have absolutely every opportunity possible. He also knew that Leilani felt exactly the same.

As Hendor moved to their row, Liam smiled at him. He liked the kid a lot, of course, much of it had to deal with how he respected Skylah, even at their young ages. Looking over at Samaire, he gave her a loving wink, then shifted down one seat, so both children would be sitting between them.

"That's a real pretty dress you have on, Sky," Hendor offered, just a touch of shyness in his tone. It was clear to any passerby that he was smitten by the young girl. It was very cute to watch.

Skylah grinned at him. "Thanks, Aunt Sam picked it out. Are you having fun here?"

Nodding, Hendor sat next to Skylah, putting his right side towards her. Reaching out, he carefully took hold of her hand, like he had seen Mama and Papa do many times. '"Yeah, even more now that you're here."

Arri waited so she could congratulate Phoenix before she left for the altar. She wanted to thank her for saving her from a life of degrading servitude.. She earned that much.

Miran came out and told Arri, Phoenix was busy and would not be able to talk with her at this time.

Kiana Lalor, former High Lady of Erisia, strode towards the front of the area where everyone was gathering. Stepping up so people could see her she called out "Could you all take your seats please, the Bride is only minutes away." She glanced at Matias and her lips quirked like her eldest daughter's did when she was about to be a smart arse. "And our sacrificial lamb looks nervous."

Mattias gave his soon-to-be mother-in-law a happy grin as the gathered guests chuckled softly at his expense

Rin chose two seats about midway between the front and the back for herself and Ebi and settled in for the ceremony to start.

A moment later there was a tap on her shoulder. "Hi." Miraj gave her a little wave. "Have you met Neri?" She indicated the andorian woman next to her. "She's in flight control like me."

"I haven't," Rin replied, looking back at the two women. "Good to meet you, Neri. And this is Ebi," she continued, indicating the man beside her.

"Nice to meet you" The Andorian said with a grin at them both

"I want to say welcome aboard," Miraj smiled at Ebi, "only this thing doesn't have engines." She stamped her bare foot on the grass in emphasis. "So hi?"

"Hello," Ebi replied. "It is good to meet all of you as well."

Gary had finally found Lia and Imik. "Hi." He greeted both. "I can't stay, I have somewhere I need to be in a few minutes." Giving Lia a vague explanation.

Kissing her husband, Lia looked around. "I take it you're on official duty, so go do what you need to do."

Imik simply bowed to Gary, "Blessing Commander, and my thanks to your wife for her assistance with my attire."

"I am on official duty." Gary acknowledged. "You'll see me right up front in a few minutes." He looked and bowed to Imik, " Blessing to you as well Imik. Your kimono is beautiful as is yours Lia."

Imik smiled, "I may keep this Kimono if Lia allows it, I find it beautiful but practical for people such as the Ojnas."

"Get yourself up there before your missed, I'll meet up with you once this is all over." Lia then turned to Imik, "I not only allow it, but I am proud that you wish to keep it Imik."

"I have a little time. Good thing is they can't start without me." Gary said with a grin. "But I shouldn't make Captain Richardson suffer with a prolong wait. I'll see you both when I am finished."

Leaning over, Lia kissed Gary again. "Yeah, don't be to cruel. The poor man has his wedding night to look forwards to."

"If I wanted to be cruel, I wouldn't be up there." Gary said with a chuckle, "But then I'd have Phoenix gunning for me literally." He answered as he returned Lia's kiss.

Mattias saw Gary at the back, talking to his wife and Imik. Shortly, he would be up here, ready to officiate the wedding.

The combat veteran had to admit to himself, after all this time of loving Phoenix and hoping this day would come, now that it was here, he actually was a bit nervous, though, not from negative feelings, only excitement and joy.

All he needed now, was to look into Phoenix's hypnotically beautiful eyes to know that this was all real.

==House==

Phoenix looked at herself in the mirror, the dress was perfect she thought. She wore her hair half up and half down, held back by jeweled combs. She had refused her mother's insistence that she wear a tiara. Her feet were shod in matching heels. "okay" she said softly. "Lets do this."

Miran grinned and handed her sister, the hand wrapped bouquet of flowers she had chosen. "Here you go." she said as Kara and Ezri moved towards the door, Both Kara and Miran had smaller bouquets and Ezri had a basket of petals.

Phoenix nodded and followed them out to where Sthilg stood waiting. "Sthilg, you look very handsome" She said warmly as she looked at her chief medical officer.

“Very handsome indeed” Kara smiled as she held on to Ezri’s hand. Given there were so many strangers her young daughter was being very well behaved.

" And you look lovely my dear. " Sthilg replied warmly. " Your beloved isss a very lucky man. Now have you gotten everything?" He inquired not wanting to leave anything behind that he'd need to run back for.

Phoenix smiled. "I have everything, but you are missing something." She held out a small silver box. "I got this for you."

Sthilg carefully opened the box. Sitting on a velvet cloth was a beautifully crafted pocket watch bearing the Starfleet emblem on the front casing. Opening it up Sthilg white eyes beamed with an inscription on the inner case. To Sthilg, thank you for being there for me. Pene.

The doctor said nothing as he started to offer her a hug but pushed as he did so. " I'd hug you my dear friend, but i'd hate to ruin your outfit." he beamed warmly.

She merely grinned at him. "Hug me after" she replied as she let Kara, Ezri and Miran head down the stairs "Shall we?"

SMALL CHAPEL SANCTUARY AND ALTAR

All around the seating and chapel area was an air of anticipation and excitement. It was palpable on the faces of the guests. Standing in their places at the front, Captain Richardson, Tim and Malakai stood. Their dress uniforms were perfectly coordinated and they were a swooning group of handsome, studly, gentlemen. Sam noticed that Richardson's dress blues had very fine details. Like cufflinks, starched collars with crisp lines and refinements. Shiny shoes, crisp pleats and spotless. Sam thought, ~I'll be - I guess old dogs can learn new tricks!~ Woolheater took another look around and the little chapel was packed to the gills. It was beautifully decorated too. Bows and flowers everywhere. Adelaide pointed out the little details. Sam saw Andrinn talking with Adele and looked away before any eye contact could happen. But, he stole a few more glances anyway. Any feelings he had he pushed them away for now. There was a job to do here. A marine tradition too help make the moment extra special for the bride and groom. Sam turned and looked down the aisle.

Gary had left Lia and Imik and made his way to the alter. "Hello Mattias." He greeted the marine captain pleasantly before saying hello to Tim and Mal as well. "You ready to get this show on the road?"

Mattias grinned happily as he nodded and replied. "I've been ready for this day for nearly ten years!"

"Excellent, you have the rings?" Gary gently questioned.

Turning his head to his Best Man, Mattias asked, "Tim?"

"Yes Matt?" Tim replied perfectly deadpan.

Mattias gave his best friend a dangerous look. "Before I ask again, I want you to think very carefully about whom you would like to kill you. Me, with my bare hands? Or Phee, with her knives?" He paused a few beats, a smirk threatening to cross his face. Then, he asked the obvious question. "You do have the rings, yeah?'

Tim was unphased by Matt's threat of death from either himself or Phoenix. "What rings would those be Matt?" He answered before waiting a few beats which probably seemed like an eternity to Matt before he stuck a hand into a pocket a withdrew a small velvet box and opened it to show two rings. "You mean these rings?"

Mattias took the rings and gave his friend a playful scowl. "You know, one of these days, you're going to get yours, and I hope I'm right there, to give you as much....joy...as you've been giving me." He then turned and handed the rings to Gary.

Tim grinned at his best friend. "Oh, I am sure you will be Matt, no doubt in my mind on that score."

Gary took the rings from Mattias. "I'll take good care of these." He promised.

Arrianna entered and sat down in the chapel. She examined the people gathered, and then noticed Kiana. She studied her a bit and pondered her a moment.

Kyian carrying William moved down the Aisle. Behind him, the Lalor's nanny carried Elizabeth. Both twins were dressed in their best clothes and were looking around with avid eyes.

Kyian sat in the front row and settled the twins into their chairs.

The music that had been playing changed to an instrumental version of a 2000's song named Shallow. It was the cue for all to settle and turn to look towards the entrance of the aisle.

Miran Lalor, appeared, her bouquet in hand, and her dress was an A-line scoop neck dress in pale blue. She was smiling and she took a breath and headed down the aisle slowly.

Kara followed on behind in step with Miran, grinning like the proverbial Cheshire Cat as her two year old daughter Ezri spread flower petals from a small basket as they walked. This was the first time Mattias would lay eyes on his niece.

Watching her sister, and Sister-in-law and niece walk down the aisle had Phoenix taking a steadying breath as she stood beside Sthilg. "Okay... here we go" she murmured. "Thank you again Sthilg." She said to the Doctor.

"Think nothing of it my friend." Sthilg replied quietly as he kept step with his captain as the two made their way along the aisle.

Phoenix smiled, her arm through his as they moved down the aisle.

Naxea smiled as she watched the Captain walk down the aisle. She looked beautiful in her dress. She cast a quick glance where Luxa was sitting. Luckily the woman was behaving herself--so far, at least. Suddenly her stomach jumped, causing Naxea to flinch as she placed a hand on her stomach. Despite the sedatives she was taking, the baby still kicked every now and then. She was sure that Sthilg would have to up the dosage as the baby grew.

S'hib kept quiet, simply smiling as he moved a hand over the top of hers, affectionately stroking her fingers with the side of his thumb.

As the bridal procession began, Mattias's face warmed when he saw the twins in their cute little outfits. He was looking forward to giving them their suprise gifts after he and Phoenix were we'd. He hadn't even told her about it yet. The only other person who knew about the extra bit to the ceremony, was Gary, who would announce that Mattias had something extra to do before he and Phoenix took their first walk as husband and wife.

After the twins were settled, Mattias''s eyes went back to the aisle, and his face suddenly brightened. There was his sister, Kara....and her beautiful daughter, his niece, Ezri! She was more beautiful than the vid that Kara had shown them, back during the Black Watch mission. Turning his head to Malakai, he smiled and whispered, "You two are in so much trouble, Mister!" He gave his brother-in-law a friendly wink, then looked back at the aisle again, where he saw Kara, smiling wide like the cat who ate the canary. Taking a breath, he tried to focus, like he had learned and thought of an image of just how much this meant to him.

Mal nodded and whispered back, "Don't I know it." He grinned. Looking at Kara and Ezri.

Kara’s eyes fell proudly on Matt, before she looked at Malakai, the man who made her life worth living. As she and Ezri reached the front they took position to one side ready for Phoenix.

Mal met Kara's gaze and positively beamed at her. He loved her with evry breath he took and little Erzi was just precious.

As soon as Miran and Kara were in position at the alter, the music changed to the bridal March. The doors at the end of the aisle re-opened, and in strode Phoenix and Sthilg.

Phoenix smiled as she walked beside Sthilg down towards Mattias. Her eyes focus on him and Gary.

Gary smiled at Phoenix as she approached the alter with Sthilg. She was stunning in her dress.

Sthilg was focusing on keeping his feet level with Phoenix though he did look over and smile at his daughter and her family.

There was a low murmur a kind of awed hush as the bridal procession passed each aisle of pews in the small chapel. Captain Phoenix Lalor was passing by and she was indeed a very beautiful sight. Commander Sthilg looked so happy to Sam as he walked her down the aisle. And when they passed by Sam and Adele watched them pass quietly and reverently, This was one of the big moments in most people's lives and Sam wished them warm greetings and many blessings. "She's beautiful. Look at her; she's glowing" Adelaide said quietly after the bridal procession had passed them. All Sam could say was a simple, "Aye!"

Mattias didn't hear any of the reactions from the guests, nor did he see anyone else but the angel walking slowly towards him. His eyes were locked on hers. He was so amazed by her stunning beauty that he actually forgot to breath for a few beats, suddenly taking in a huge gulp of air to feed his screaming brain and cells.

As Sthilg and Phoenix reached the altar, she beamed a smile at Gary and then up at Sthilg.

Gary's smile bloomed on his face as Phoenix and Sthilg reached the alter. He gave a quick glance to Mattias who was transfixed by Phoenix. He thought. *He looks at Phoenix the same way I look at Lia.*

Phoenix had to stifle a grin at Mattias's dumbfounded look.

And with one last step the lizard had arrived. He grinned having not embarrassed himself or his dear friend.

Mattias stepped forward, extending his left hand to Phoenix. The look on his face was pure love and devotion. Glancing up at Sthilg, he said, "Thank you, Sir. I'll take her from here."

Giving a look of happiness to Phoenix, Sthilg let her unwrap her arm from his as he stepped back and headed to his seat. Before he did, he paused and gave the both of them a smile. " Good luck to the pair of you."

Phoenix smiled and kissed the Gorns cheek before turning back to Mattias and Gary..

Mattias smiled warmly to the Gorn, nodding his thanks. He then looked at his Bride-to-be and whispered, "Amin mela Ile, Phoenix."

"Amin mela Ile Mattias" she whispered back.

Sam quietly said to Adelaide, "I just realized something."

"Huh." Adele asked him what that was. She thought that he would comment on the wedding party. How handsome Captain Richardson was, how good Commander Taylor looked or how beautifully the whole procession was. "What did you realize?" she asked.

"It's pronounced 'muh-tie-us'."

Adele cocked her head in a questioning look, "Huh?"

Sam looked at her just a moment. "Not matty-ass".

Adele cocked her head again, "What?"

Sam said, "Captain Richardson's first name. All this time I've been calling him 'matty-ass'. And it's pronounced 'muh-tie-us'."

Adele just looked at him as they whispered.

Sam looked at her. "I just realized that."

She looked at him as if he was from some alien world and he looked back and said, "I overheard someone pronounce it correctly earlier."

Adele didn't know what to say and so she said nothing but exchanged a look with Consul Orin.

Gary looked at Phoenix and Matt and then out to the crowd. "Honored guests and friends, we are about to begin. But first a simple observation, it is my pleasure to officiate this wedding of Phoenix and Mattias. Phoenix is a dear and close friend and Matt is a new one. It is my fervent wish that their marriage is a rich and rewarding one, filled with love and Matt if you make Phoenix mad, a piece of advice....run!" He chuckles and stops and looks at the crowd. "Now on to what you are all here for and I don't mean the food.''

"Let us begin. Thank you for being here today as Phoenix and Mattias enter into a lifelong union. Today we celebrate the separate journeys that brought them together, and we usher them toward the new journey they will embark upon as partners.

A true lasting marriage requires effort, commitment, and unending respect. As Phoenix and Matt declare their love on this day, we reflect on the meaning of partnership and its importance to a successful union. Partners, in life, think of one another as teammates, equally capable, but each arriving with their own special skills.

A marriage thrives when each partner chooses to value the other: for everything they are, and for everything they’re not. There is no limit to what a partnership can accomplish when trust, admiration and love flow abundantly. Today, Phoenix and Matt acknowledge this with excitement as they prepare to join hands in marriage.

As I guide you in exchanging your vows, you, Phoenix and you, Mattias will declare your intentions for a lasting partnership in love and marriage. Are you prepared to do this?

Phoenix smiled and nodded "Yes I am."

Mattias continued to smile as he heard Phoenix's reply. He then nodded and replied as well. "I am, Sir."

Gary nods and looks to Matt

"Matt, Repeat after me."

I, Mattias take you, Phoenix to be my wife I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion. I love you.

Mattias turned and gazed into Phoenix's mesmerizing silver-blue eyes. His smile was so full of love, it practically shone. "I, Mattias, take you, Phoenix, to be my wife. I promise that from, from this day forward, I will regard you not only as my equal partner, but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion. I love you!"

Gary looked at Phoenix. "Repeat after me Phoenix."

I, Phoenix take you, Matt to be my husband. I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion. I love you.

"I, Phoenix take you, Matt to be my husband. I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion. I love you." Phoenix said in a firm and clear voice.

Gary nods and looks at Phoenix and Matt

"Please present one another your rings. These rings symbolize the strength of your commitment to this marriage and the love you share."

Mattias went first this time. After picking up the ring he had designed and made for her, he positioned it over the tip of her left ring finger. Looking up into her eyes, he took a deep breath and spoke. "Phoenix Lalor, since the day our eyes locked, I have been drawn to you. You have owned my heart and soul since that day. Though others have come into and out of our lives since that day, the love that I have felt for you has only grown stronger."

"I give you my word of honor, in front of our friends, family and shipmates, I will never abuse the love and trust that you show me. Until the day that I draw my last breath, I will be yours and yours alone." He then slowly slid the ring onto her finger.

Taking the ring, she mimicked his gesture and placed it at the tip of his ring finger. She gave him one of her brilliant smiles. "Mattias, you have been my best friend, mentor, playmate, confidant, and my greatest challenge. But most importantly, you are the love of my life and you make me happier than I could ever imagine and more loved than I ever thought possible. You have made me a better person, as our love for one another is reflected in the way I live my life. So I am truly blessed to be a part of your life, which as of today becomes our life together. Today, I take my place as your wife. May our days be long, and may they be seasoned with faith, love understanding and respect forever and ever. Today is the beginning of the rest of our lives. I choose to spend today, and all of my tomorrows, with you.” She finished speaking as she settled the ring into its place on his finger.

Gary smiles and speaks, "By the power invested in me, I now proudly acclaim you husband and wife. Matt you may kiss your bride."

A huge grin filled his face as Mattias stepped closer to Phoenix, wrapped his arms around her, leaned in, and kissed her deeply, while still remembering the eyes that were on them both.

Phoenix slid her arms up around his neck as she kissed him back.

Adelaide, with tears of joy rolling down her cheeks bawled, "It's....just...so...beautiful!" She dabbed at her eyes with a frilly handkerchief. Sam looked ill. Adele hooked her arm in his and cried with happiness for the newly weds. Sam slowly turned and looked at her with a disgusted face. Almost with a face like Popeye the Sailor. "They are...just...so....be-yooooo-ti-full!" she cried and squeezed his arm. He said quietly, "You are crying...kind of...a lot Adele. I mean, I'm sad too but...reel it in a little will ya? Can you please stifle it ay?" She wiped her eyes so her eyeliner wouldn't run and honkingly blew her nose.

Sam looked over at Andrinn and exchanged "the look" with him. Adele said, "I'll cry if I want too. It's gorgeous! And uplifting." Woolheater felt his tongue turning blue and he slowly looked back to the altar with the best, tolerant, well-wishing face this wedding/funeral would allow. Adele started to tear up again. "She's....he's.....bwaaaaa! It's so perfect!" Sam endured.

Alicia gave Savar a teary eyed look as she smiled, from what she could see there were quite a few teary eyed others in the room as well.

Leilani hugged George as she wiped away a soppy few tears, weddings were so beautiful. She grinned as she looked at Heather who was trying not to cry herself.

Naxea smiled at the sight of seeing the Captain happy with someone--the woman deserved it.

When they finally came back up for air, they were both smiling brightly. Mattias gently placed his forehead against hers and whispered, "Amin mela Ile, Amin Cel."

"Amin mela lle Amin Aran" Phee replied as she stood there enjoying their moment.

Gary looks to the crowd and Phoenix, "One final item. Matt has something he wishes to say. Matt, the floor is yours."

Joy filled Mattias's eyes as he nodded to Gary. He then looked over at Miran and Kara. "Would you both please bring the twins up here?"

Confused Miran turned and scooped up Elizabeth from the Nanny.

Kara nodded as she gently lifted Phoenix’s son and brought him to the stage.

Mattias gave Phoenix a gentle smile. Then he turned to the crowd. "First off, I want to thank you all for coming to witness Phoenix and I get married. Like Gary said, our rings are symbols of our unending love for one another. However, I didn't just marry Phoenix today. I married her family as well. And so," he reached into his left inside breast pocket and pulled our a small, flat, black felt box. He opened it carefully and showed Phoenix that inside, two matching platinum pendants hung on fine platinum chains, side by side. Each pendant had three overlapping ring, connected in the center, by a single stone, one of Mattias's Earth birthstones.

"Phee, you how much I love your babies. As my ring displays my promise to you, please allow these small tokens represent my promise to William and Elizabeth. Today, here and now, I swear to them and you that, until the day I die, I will always support, guide, teach, protect and love your children as if they had always been ours." He moved over to William first, as he was closer, and gently kissed his forehead. He then moved to Elizabeth and repeated the tender gesture.

After straightening back up, he looked back at his Bride and spoke aloud for all to hear him. "Let all know, on this day, these two angels are now forever protected and loved by me." He handed the small box to Phoenix and smiled. "When they are ready to understand, we will explain to them what this means."

She clutched it and then handed it to Miran with a nod. "Yes we will."

Adele had been doing better until the whole kids thing. Now she started up again with "Oh my god....they're adorable. He must really love her and the kids!" The tears started again. Someone behind Samuel tapped the marine's shoulder and handed him a fresh handkerchief and indicated it was for Adele, "For the young miss" they said. Sam took it, rolled his eyes, nodded and handed it to Adele. He said in an imitating voice, "It's for the young miss!"

Gary looked over the assembled crowd of crew, guests and family members and announced proudly, "Ladies and Gentlemen may I present for the first time. Mr. and Mrs. Mattias Richardson."

Kara couldn’t help but give a loud round of applause, soppy tears running down her cheeks as she wiped her eyes and picked up little Ezri for a cuddle.

A loud applause swelled from the guests. It seemed as if everyone was so happy for the couple and their happy union. Sam said, "YUUUUT!" in his native marine tongue and applauded. Adele dried her eyes and beamed her smile at them. Sam made sure his dress uniform was neatly smoothed out and watched for the signal. When the applause died down and the newlyweds started their egress of the chapel was when the marine honor guard detail was on.

In perfectly timed action, the marine honor detail stood to their feet with crisp, military precision.

As soon as Josh and Anna lowered their sabers down in front of Mattias and Phoenix, there were a few chuckles in the crowd. Smiling, Mattias turned and leaned into his Bride, kissing her softly on her lips.

Phoenix smiled and kissed him back.

After the kiss, the first barrier was raised, allowing the newlyweds to proceed down the aisle.

When the first honor detail had lowered their sabers and the couple passed by them, the second honor detail activated. Sam, in a clear, strong voice issued the second challenge, "HONOR DETAIL! RIPOSTE!" And the second detail drew their sabers. The weapons drawn were point up in front of the marine's face. Sam said loudly, "POINT-IN-LINE!", which produces the high arc and stops any further advance of the couple. He looked at both Captain's and issued the challenge, "FOOOOOOOOR THE SECOND INTENTION - PROVE YOUR LOVE!" His voice was clear and carried well. The second honor guard waited for the challenge to be met. Sabre's preventing their further advancement.

Mattias grinned at Sam, then looked over at Phoenix. "You ready for another kiss, my love?"

Laughing Phoenix nodded. "Of course"

David followed Naxea's lead, smiling broadly as they lowered their sabers in front of the Bride and Groom.

Naxea grinned, unable to maintain her bearing but in all honesty, she didn't care. "Pay the fee by proving you love!"

"Fee?" Phee asked curiously.

"Hey, you heard the Colonel, Babe," Mattias grinned. "We have to pay the fee to continue." He winked at her, then leaned back in to kiss her.

Phoenix returned the kiss.

As the sabers lifted, Mattias guided Phoenix past Naxea and Tonelly.

Naxea looked straight ahead as she brought the saber down at the same time, the baby within her produced a rather sizeable kick causing her arm to flinch. In turn the saber struck Phoenix's rear harder than she had wanted. "Shit," she murmured, embarrassed by the mistake.

Phoenix gave Naxea a cheeky smile. "Hey if you wanted my arse you should have beaten Mattias to the punch Naxea," she teased just so the Colonel could hear.

Naxea fought to keep the redness from her cheeks in return at Phoenix. "My loss then," she replied, returning the grin.

Phoenix winked at her and then she and Mattias moved to the end of the aisle and moved off to let others out to enjoy the party to come.
